Absolutely not! The reviews saying they demand more $ after the massage! This used to be my favorite massage spa, but after today they lost a customer. The woman who did my massage was texting throughout the service, there was a bright light in my face the whole time and after I tipped $10 on a $50 massage, she actually came all the way outside to my car to confront me. She told me, "I deserve MORE TIP" and said "other people there deserve $10 but she deserves higher tips". Another employee had to come outside and pull her away! I'm honestly so disappointed and sad because I really loved this place, but after this experience I will never return. I've been here a few times now because the other place I normally go to was booked Decided to try it out and I was pleasantly surprised they were very nice . The prices are comparable about 50 bucks for a full body massage even though you pay with a card and it asked to put the tip down. I asked if I could skip afterwards they said no problem and I did. I felt less stressed out more loose. I returned the other day and brought my wife and we both had a massage And we both had a nice relaxing time. My wife has a pinched nerve in her shoulder and really wanted to try to work it out unfortunately, it's one of those things that are gonna take a while, but I got a great massage. Went here this morning, and the owner demanded I get a body massage, and when I said no, she became annoyed at my very presence. I've been going to Jun Massage for over ten years, I tip well, and I'm overall an easygoing customer. I'm not particular, I just need an hour of peace. This little gem hidden in a strip mall on Lankershim is a little oasis. I was in desperate need of a shoulder and neck massage. I client even turn my neck so I headed to the spot praying that they can work the spasm and kinks out. I got the shoulder and neck massage, 30 minutes for $30! To my surprise it included free hot stone so I was ready to get in the room and let them work their magic. Jason was my therapist and his strong form hands worked out the knots. Oh what joyful pain! Wow, I'm used to trucking over to SGV for these massages. Had lot of extra soreness this week from overtraining (bro), so I found J&J and it was exactly what I needed. My masseuse took her time and really worked her way through, more so than I'm used to, and delivered a midpoint between the almost too rough for some Chinese accupressure and Swedish. I could have handled more pressure, but I didn't ask for it this time, and she still managed to open up a lot of stress points with the lighter touch, especially in my head and sinuses. Another difference was that I'm used to receiving the first part of the massage sitting up on the stool; here you start by lying back in the chair, so it's more relaxing, but again, I think less conducive to pressure. Facilities were nicer than average, and you can see they put time into presentation. I'm just happy to have this place much closer to home! I don't go often but I'll be more tempted now. read more

The lady that started me off, I believe, was the owner, Sally, began working on my upper back, and not before starting the phone rang, and she stepped out to answer. However, WHAT UPSET ME THE MOST was that she left me to attend to the other client she added at 9pm and didn't say anything to me. A few minutes later, I feel a completely different masseuse massaging my feet/legs. She ended up swapping with a male coworker instead! Now I don't have a problem with a male massaging me, but a heads up would've been nice, being that I was only wearing underwear underneath the blanket and expecting her to be the only person massaging me. He, however, did an amazing job (which is the ONLY reason I gave them 1 star. Otherwise, 0 stars would be given). Overall, the lady's massage was terrible. They USED TO BE GREAT at their massages, BUT NOW THEY JUST DON'T CARE. I had called around 6:15 to schedule two 60 minute combo massages for 7:30 for my boyfriend and I and was able to get them scheduled with no problem. We decided to come here bc of the positive reviews, so I had high hopes. When we walked in, it smelt like muggy, old, soggy towels, and that should have been my first sign to leave. When we came in, no one was there except for 2 employees, and when I said we were there for our 7:30 appointments, they looked at us as if they had no clue what we were doing there. Slightly off putting, but not that big of a deal. When they figured it out, they walked us to the 2 beds and pulled the curtains out to give us more privacy to change. Cool. Then the massage began. I told the man massaging me that I like hard pressure. He clearly didn't understand me, so I repeated myself. He then looks to his co worker to see if she understood what I was asking for, and it was obvious neither one of them had a clue of what I was asking. He proceeds. The first 15 minutes of the massage go by and he still hasn't even touched my skin. He had a towel over my back and all he did was press on it. I kept thinking maybe he was doing this to loosen me up, bc I know sometimes they'll do that, but usually not for 15 minutes. When he finally stopped doing that, he put a pool of oil onto my back...like, an insane amount of oil. I thought, okay, maybe he's about to really go in and get his elbows deep into my back. That was just my high hopes trying to remain positive, because that was completely wrong. He used his knuckles to go up and down my back maybe 3 or 4 times, squeezed my shoulders for a moment, then went and grabbed hot stones, which literally just felt like I had hot rocks slipping up and down my back, swimming in the overload of oil he put on me. By the time he was using a towel to clean up the oil from my back, I realized that that portion of the massage was finished. I went in specifically for my back and neck to be worked on, so needless to say, I was not feeling so happy. I'm pretty sure my pet cat could have walked on me and done a better job. Then I flipped over and he started working on my neck....omg. What a freakin joke. I don't even know what I'd call what he was doing to my neck. But it definitely was the furthest thing from a massage that I've ever experienced. The rest of the massage was just as terrible as everything else. I really hate to write such a negative review, but to have spent $40 on a massage to feel literally no different is extremely irritating. How can you hire someone who literally understands not one word of English and on top of that, clearly has no clue what he's doing? Not okay. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I'm never paying for a massage that isn't with a qualified certified massage therapist again. Lesson learned on my end. I am so glad I found this place! My previous go-to foot massage spot recently closed, so I turned to Yelp and discovered J&J Foot Spa only a few minutes further away. Their 1 hour "foot massage" is worth way more than $20, so tip well! I put "foot massage" in quotes because it's so much more... while your feet are soaking, you're sitting in a super comfy reclining leather massage chair and receiving a head, face, neck, shoulder, arm and hand massage... when your feet come out of the water, you get a foot and ankle massage... then, you turn over for a back and shoulder massage! I actually prefer this comfy chair to a traditional massage table, because my breasts don't feel squished. Also, my masseuse really dug into my pressure points (and knots) with her elbow (yes, you will get an elbow in your buttocks, it will probably hurt, but it's a good hurt) so I appreciated the give of the chair for that reason too. With the chair massage they don't just work on the feet, they do head, arms and shoulders and after the feet, about a 15 minute back massage. One, full hour in a relaxing, convertible lounge chair. (The chair is not electronic. No heat or vibrate.) But they do a great job for $25 an hour!!! He says his massage is very good, just enough pressure and they work on his mid back a little extra, so... definitely worth the price!! Amazing. I went in for a foot massage--which I couldn't believe was only $20 for an hour long session. But it gets even better, they don't just do your feet. They start with your head and neck and then do a great arm/hand massage. So relaxing. Then they move on to your feet, but again, you get more than you think--they do your legs all the way up to the knees. I thought this was the end and when I reached for my shoes, Tom told me "No, we're not done yet, turn over." Then they get your back and shoulders. So, so worth it.
