I had a small project--just moving some furniture around in my home--so not technically a "move" involving a truck. A very small job and very last minute. Brian, the owner, responded to my request for a quote on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. I received several quotes from Yelp reviewed companies. They all responded quickly, but J & J was faster on the draw, more responsive and more understanding of the nature of the job. They took a deposit from me on Tuesday and set up for 7am-9am on Wednesday. The crew leader called me, as requested 30 minutes ahead of time and they were exactly on time. Very courteous, polite and professional crew. Very careful and methodical. The job was completed in less than two hours and they cleaned up everything prior to leaving. J & J movers did an excellent job during our move this past weekend. We were told we would get 2 movers and we ended up with 3 at no extra charge! These guys were quick, efficient and kept our furniture safe throughout the entire move. I only moved 15 minutes away and it took them less than 3 hours to pack and get everything moved, and that included wrapping up furniture and un-assembling/assembling our bed frame and couch. Brian and Company delivered a first rate customer experience from start to finish. Their rates were competitive, but their attention to detail and eagerness to do things right set them apart from the rest. From the initial consult to the check in call a week later to make sure everything arrived intact, I felt like they cared. Hired 3 movers for 3 hours to load a 16-foot POD for a 1,000-mile move to Iowa. You'd think they were Tetris masters, the way they loaded things. They showed up when they said they would, and wrapped all of the furniture with blankets and shrink wrap and nothing was damaged, It was a local move so they charge by the hour, but they worked fast. I was able to schedule my move with less than a week's notice. The movers were very professional & friendly; this is a legitimate moving company, not like Pleasant Movers that I used to move my stuff out of my apartment to storage. J&J didn't have a blower on their truck but used a moving blanket to sweep out my storage unit so I wouldn't get charged a cleaning fee. They were quick but careful. They are also very affordable. My storage company recommended this company, they were 51 miles away from where I was moving. After speaking with Anita, she promised it wasn't a big deal to accommodate me. It was the best move I've ever made. She worked with me over the phone and took into consideration everything I needed. I was looking for something discounted since I was in a tight money spot, they were able to To provide the lowest pricing possible I could find in the tight amount of time I had to schedule my move. I was a little worried though because I did not get any type of email confirmation once I made my reservation but a text receipt of my down payment. I had requested two guys with a two hour minimum ( which is required), I was moving from a third-floor apartment to another third-floor apartment, but I didn't have that much stuff, no bed no dresser two TVs and boxes, but it took them all day to do the move. The last hour it felt like they were milking the time to call it six hour total. I paid it and still tipped however I probably won't be calling them for my next move. read more

Prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, my experience with J&J Movers was very positive and I would recommend their service.

I've thought hard about this review. On one hand they moved everything without damaging anything to my knowledge but on the other hand they took 8 hours to move a 1,600 sq ft house were most of the boxes had already been moved and they just needed to move a washer and dryer, fridge, Queen bed a few book cases , dining table and chairs and some boxes... they did move some other items to the garage. The reason I question the time is that when we moved from California we had a lot more stuff and everything had to be put on a 26' truck and it was completed in about 8 hours with two movers and one lead playing Tetris making sure everything fit. My coworker was also moving and I gave her the info for J&J and unknown to me she was moving the day after us so I was unable to give her feedback. She had the same crew and same experience of "slow walking" her move. If we weren't so tired from packing, moving and life I think I would have spoken up about their speed and called the owner in the middle of the move. read more
