And the job was extra tricky because I am currently wearing a thumb-immobilizing brace on my left wrist due to torn ligaments that cause pain if my fingers are handled roughly. Lin-da is still learning English but that didn't cause any issue with my service. Nor did it prevent her kindness, patience, and gentleness from showing in her demeanor. Furthermore, when I asked how long she had been doing nails, she said 3 weeks, yet the quality of her results are astounding. She gave me literally the best pedicure and manicure I have had in at least a decade...maybe ever. The salon itself is very clean and offers a pleasant atmosphere wirh almost none of that typical nail salon smell. The massage chairs are clean and comfortable. They also offer complimentary drinks, although I brought my own water. Based on reviews, I drove 45 min one way to Kroma Nail Bar and I would do it again in a heartbeat! This may have been my first visit but it definitely won't be my last! I would highly recommend this nail salon to friends.

From the time I arrived until the time I left I did not feel as though I was welcome nor did I feel I had any added value to this business. I had set up an appointment for myself and as a treat for a friend. My friend on the other hand was treated quite well, engaged with, and what actually seemed above and beyond. Which I was delighted about because I wanted her to feel special. On the other hand there were feelings of sadness because I wasn't feeling why there was such negative actions towards me. When the technician started to do my pedicure she got quite rough with my right foot. I tried to explain to her that the inside of my foot was an appliance with my sling covering it. That it didn't bend like a normal foot. She jerked my foot down causing excoriating pain. Then I tried to explain my large toe joint is a bionic joint. And can't be bent back to far. She literally pushed my toe back causing pain. I then stopped saying anything and just wanted the pedicure to be over. During the toe nail clipping she cut it too short catching the skin and caused my large toe to bleed. She put a liquid on it to stop the bleeding g which I read on the bottle as some kind of GLUE! All I could do is get done, pay for each pedicure, and get out of that building as fast as I could because I just wanted to cry. I asked my friend if it was just me and was being overly sensitive? She said no that she was very surprised with the treatment. Again, very unfortunate all of the way around. And to this day I truly have no idea what happened. I am elderly but I am not a Karen of any type. So buyer beware if it is a first time visit for you.

It would have been great to know prior to having the gel manicure so as to opt for a regular manicure. I've been getting my nails done for a decade in the Bay Area and have NEVER had something like this on my nails. They look horrific now and am mortified I may have gotten a fungus from here.

The BAD- Sometimes her color or haircut job turns out great or even better than expected, but it might not be what you actually asked for. She might try to say that it IS what you asked for or what you showed her. She might tell you that your hair can't get the color or style you asked for but only after she already did something else without discussing it. Lastly it might turn out worse than if you used a box of Loreal hair dye and did it yourself. Which is what a friend and I spent the evening doing to my hair after she ruined my previously beautifully balayaged hair. I originally just figured I had one bad appointment out of a few good ones and that she must of had an off day, so I gave her another chance a couple months later but I was very careful to talk about what I wanted and ask questions to be sure we were on the same page. I won't be going back and I wish I hadn't given her another shot! My guess is, I am not the only one who has had this experience! Please speak up if you have a bad experience or a good one. Madera is small and we should give our business to the professionals that appreciate it and do right by their customers. Her attitude about the whole ordeal when I tried to discuss it with her was like she didn't need my business so she didn't care how I felt about it!
