I had to search a bit to find a Santa Barbara local furnace repair company and I'm so lucky I found J&J. I asked them to come and service my furnace. Nothing was obviously broken but it need a checkout and some duct work. Mission accomplished! Based on the existing 5-star reviews, I called J & J Heating to give me a quote for closing off a heating duct before my kitchen remodel, and for an opinion on my gas fireplace insert. Jeremy came out and cleaned my fireplace insert, so it now looks almost new. He told me what I could do to make it work better for me, and he also checked out my heating system, including inserting a new filter. Jeremy is one of the nicest service providers that I've ever had at my house! Given that I am in the process of collecting bids for my kitchen and bath remodel, Jeremy also provided me with the names of contractors whom he recommends and has worked with. My gas fireplace wouldn't ignite. I have had it about 7 years and didn't get it serviced. My bad. Jeromy from J&J Heating and AC was great. He said most FP can be serviced for flat fee unless parts are needed. He stuck to flat price even tho he had to go hit store to get some cleaner for one of the ports. Didn't get charged for that, I guess he thought he should have had some on the truck. Anyway, he got my system up and running and did full cleaning. It works good as new and looks new again. read more

Right before Thanksgiving I called Jeremy and said I was hoping to get a remodeled gas fireplace in by Christmas. He assured me I could. He was quick to answer the phone quick to come out and take a look quick to send me brochures for options, very knowledgeable. It was easy to make a selection, I got prices, and when the material was in, he came out and installed immediately. We couldn't get the doors before Christmas, but he knew that, and kept me informed, so I just bought a cheapo flat screen from Lowe's for 20 bucks. Doors are coming in a couple weeks and I'm excited to get this thing finished. Will post a pic when it's done. He even provided a complementary chimney inspection. Jeremy is fair, does great work, is extremely responsive and follows through . I don't know about anybody else but it's hard to find good contractors these days. I would 100% recommend Jeremy, and when we do our bedroom remodel will bring him back out to do the other gas fireplace installation. read more

On one of those rare very hot days in Santa Barbara, our AC only lasted about an hour and the house quickly became unbearable. Jeremy was on the spot within 1 1/2 hours, diagnosed the problem in 10 minutes, went to get the part, returned and completed the repair in under 15 minutes and we suddenly had a comfortable house again. I had an issue with my automatic fireplace starter. I tried futzing with it myself but couldn't fix it. Jeremy came out and quickly figured out the problem. The starter valve was clogged. Jeremy and James are EXCELLENT - knowledgeable, skilled, thorough, observant, professional, kind, clean, and very personable. Our 12-year-old Valor gas fireplace had been performing poorly and the company who installed it was unable to resolve the issue. Jeremy meticulously examined the fireplace and all components. He identified two errors from the prior vendor. He cleaned the clogged gas orifices and repositioned a log that the prior vendor installed backwards. He balanced the flame color. He restored the fireplace functioning to its original condition. He identified an uncapped electrical wire over which that the prior vendor had placed tape instead of a secure cap. The wire was in a metal junction box that had no cover. He installed a cover. We were delighted with the service and the result we received. A few months ago, we contacted J&J's Heating and AC to work on our 5 year old Real Fyre gas log fireplace. The switch box and battery box was not working and damaged.
