I contacted this company with high hopes. The company was responsive in giving a free estimate but quoted me almost 2 times the price that the 8 other parties quoted me. I contacted them after receiving an estimate asking them to walk me through the source of the significant expense and mentioned several possible ways that might reduce the cost and asked them to possibly work through those scenarios to see if it made a difference ( the condenser required a long run of lines to be installed). The company agreed to contact me with reworked quotes and a different explanation. In the end, I was never contacted with any follow up and needless to say I went with someone else ( who was licensed and bonded, pulled the proper permits, and gave me a ten year guarantee). As another comparison point, many others offered to install exactly the same heat pump as I was quoted by this business at half the price. The cynic in me believes this business relies on significantly up charging the locals in Santa Barbara. Do yourself a favor and contact someone else who will provide exactly the same service with longer warranties at an actually fair price. read more

If I could give a ZERO I would. I have received a bill YET AGAIN for services not provided. We asked for a quote on a heater repair on a rental. The service person did not get back until four weeks later and he said he was sorry for the delay and there would be no charge because of their delay. They looked and did nothing to repair. Several months later we got a bill with work done and parts....There was NOTHING done and No Parts. My wife called several times they said it would be cancelled. Every month now we get bills with added late fees. I called the phone number on their invoice 963-72-96...That number is disconnected. I called the other number 692-4980 Left a message. This is an impossible billing situation. We owe you nothing and are now feeling harrassed. I am reporting this to Better Business Bureau and copying to YELP and other Social Media. If I get one more bill...I am turning over to my lawyer and charging elder abuse as well. TERRIBLE read more

This company is soooo lame!!! The gave up a 15k job because the guy kept missing his appointment with me and not even bothering to call back, over and over so I ended up having to have another company put I my brand new HVAC system and ducting. This guy told me he was going to give me a bid ad come out and yes he could do it over and over for a few weeks. I had an appointment booked 1 week in advance to complete the installation of a new heating/air-conditioning system that was mostly complete already.. The appointment had been at the by-the-hour rate of $125/hr to complete about 3-4 hours worth of work which still remained, explicitly agreed to by McCormack when I booked the appointment. Two business days before the appointment was scheduled I got a call from the receptionist, whom informed me they could no longer do the work, and had to cancel the appointment. When I tried to see if there was anything that could be done, I was told they could possibly do the work after-all, but I would be charged a flat-fee of $2000 instead. Obviously I decided to cancel the appointment, and was left trying to find someone else on short notice, which thankfully one of their competitors, A+ Heating and Air Conditioning, agreed to come on super short notice the same day I had the prior appointment booked! If this job was outside of McCormack's ability to complete, I would understand, but that is not the case. They were totally able to do the job, but just wanted to charge me more than what was agreed on originally. There is no way at $125 per hour, that what I needed done would have ended up costing $2000. Shame on them for trying to cancel on short notice, and then trying to scam me! Edit after A+ completed the job: The other company saved the day! They completed the job on time without trying to cancel or reschedule, had no problem agreeing to an hourly rate, and walked away after leaving me a $260 bill for 2 hours of work and fixing one of my own mistakes! Go with A+ unless you like burning cash to keep warm! read more

Made 2 appts for estimates. Both no shows No phone calls to tell me they were running late. When I called the first time after an hour; they said their installers were out of phone contact and I could reschedule which I did. Second time I called at the appt time and was told that he was just leaving the office and would be at my home within the hour. Hour and a half later, still no show. Called again. Went to voice mail. No call back. Called them based on postive reviews, but not for me. UPDATE: Shows up 2.5 hours after apt time. Apologized; said he didn't have his cell phone to call and didn't check his email. Seemed knowledgeable enough and spent time going over options so will see where his estimate is at. read more

The furnace in my 45+ year old Goleta home quit working in January. After seeing a few positive Yelp reviews for this company and another SB business, I called both companies to see if I could get an estimate on a replacement furnace. The company owner, John McCormack, happened to be not far away and came over the same day I called. He provided a reasonable estimate with 3 different options from basic to high efficiency. After selecting a nice 2-stage high efficiency York model, they said they could install it the following day. They showed up right on time at 9 AM and had the old furnace out and a new one in by mid afternoon. Work was done well and unknown to me, requires a permit and inspection, which the company is arranging for. John himself worked on the installation and it was done professionally and quickly and the new furnace is working very well. I am happy to recommend both the company and the product for anyone looking for a replacement home furnace. read more
