I had a similar experience as Janice from Upland. I too needed a Push hand brace and was told that by my physician that J and K would run it through my insurance and get me a good price. I went straight from the doctors office and dropped off the prescription. They told me they would send the prescription to my insurance and get me a price. I called them back over a period of weeks, each time was an excuse as to why they had no information for me. Finally one kind worker followed up herself and got me the price. Then they had to order the brace which took another week. I had difficulty getting an appointment to get in to pick up the brace and have it fitted. The whole process took far too long and I had to push for each step. Since it was so long ago, I don't have an exact time frame, but I believe it was over a month. The brace fit wasn't good at first. I went back and had it refitted. it still didn't help. I ended up at the direction of my doctor buying a brace off of Amazon that worked better. Now, over a year later I am getting a bill for "my portion" since " I had not met my deductible". I got the brace 2/2023, my insurance was billed 1/2024, just under a year after I received the brace. Supposedly J and K had checked into what my cost would be, but now I am being charged more. WHY? It would have saved me money to buy a brace off of Amazon and I could have gotten the brace within a day or two. When I tried to call to discuss my bill with JandK no one answered. I left two messages and never got a call back. Yet they are calling me and threatening me with sending my bill to collections, but they don't answer my calls or call me back! . I am not going to pay a bill 17 months after I received the brace without getting clarification on why I am being billed. My experience with J and K was difficult at every step. If you do not have open sores they say Medicare will not pay. The old hag that I talked could not care. I got support hose from them when I was on Blue Cross. She only want to talk MONEY. $68 just to see me. With no hope that my medical would pay. Why would I go to people that do not care. They wanted me to be sore ridden before I come in. The job of medical people are to prevent problems. This J&K Orthopedics Inc. in Pomona Ca. Should close as they are not helping to prevent illness but helping it to happen. If you have Medicare down't call them they can't help you unless you have sores on your legs. read more

I was referred to J & K after an appointment with my Orthopedic Doctor on January 16th 2020. My physician quoted the price to me from the medical company prior to my visit to J & K for the Push Metagrip brace for my hand. He stated that J & K would have to follow up with my insurance company to determine what my out of pocket expense would be. ( which make sense). I stopped in after the doctor appointment to drop off the prescription to J & K and give them my ID and insurance information. After one week, on January 23rd, I contacted J & K as I had not heard from them regarding the order. I was told they were not able to get in touch with Blue Shield of California yet. Really? OK. On January 27th, I called again and they stated they had to "find my paperwork " and call me back. OK. Later that afternoon, I was called back and told me the price was three time the price the Orthopedic Doctor told me it would be. The woman stated ,you only have to pay 10% of the cost, but the total cost should be $79 , not $210 I stated and she said that is what it is and politely hung up the telephone on me. I am grateful that I wasn't dealing with something more serious, such as a medical procedure or serious treatment!! They are rude and extremely unprofessional here and I will now have to go to another medical supply company to have my brace ordered before I can start my therapy for my hand, which is extremely painful. Shame on them.. Life it too short to be rude and unprofessional to any human being ever, but to then try to rip them off and hang up the phone. This person was old enough to know better I would NEVER treat any one in this manner, especially in the medical field. read more

I have been an amputee sense 2007 have always gone to one of the bigger competitors because that was were i was told to go. I have had several sockets made through the years and i must say Lance knocked this one out of the park. He uses a different procedure to get my legs circumference and i can only say the fit is the best I have ever had. Excellent Service and Professional Quality! My mom has a stroke and requires a AFO. The physical therapist highly recommended J&K. I can't thank Lance enough. He is very professional and patient to do the casting for my mom's leg; he took the time to explain very detail about the procedure. The AFO was done within days. Due to the distance of where my mom lives, Lance went for the extra mile by letting my mom to pickup the AFO after office hour. J&K Orthopedics is fantastic! My husband had gone to another Orthopedic in Ontario for two years and when his prosthetic release button broke we were going to be charged to fix (which was wrong) and also wait a week for an appointment. That was the last straw of mistakes and sent us seeking someone new. Lance @ J&K is the best, so very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. After stopping to get an appointment to fix the prosthetic button Lance came outside and spoke with my husband and then had us go into the office and fixed the button within 5 minutes. Its now 3 weeks later and he is being fit for an awesome new leg that fits and should be able to walk again after 3 years. Lance has given us hope again...and this is something that we can never repay. read more

Worst place to go. Apparently I had my appointment at 8:30 and I showed up at 9:00am. First time as a patient at this place there was an old men who just got there too. No more patients but only two, my appointment was simple just to take measurements or casting of my feet for therapy equipment. Young receptionist told me my appointment was at 8:30 and some how I had it at 9:00 and still she decided to ask if they can see me since, there was no other patients except for the old men who had walked in just a minute before me. Receptionist comes back, and tells me he/she will not see me and to reschedule for next week. They don't open on weekends, and I work in Santa Monica, instead of making time for me they pushed me out. Unprofessional, unethical to show a patron out the door on its first appointment..I mean how many times you are on time and they take forever to see you? Anyways I walked out, and just told the receptionist just to forget about me, and I will have my podiatrist to send me with some else. I don't recommend this place. This office is located in a ugly small building like if I was there to pick up an order of plumbing supply or something at a small warehouse but, failed to have the decencies to provide an exceptional service and accommodate a new patients, it lacks the outmost regard to go beyond to provide service. They are not the only one in town, and I do not recommend this orthopedic to no one! read more

I have been coming her for almost 6 years. In the 6 years lance and the crew take into consideration that I have a life. I have been able to make appointments on Saturdays. I have been using J&K Orthopedics for many years now (at least 7...although I forget the exact length of time), and have always been completely satisfied with the equipment, services and care I receive! I have used them for multiple short and long term bracing and orthotic needs throughout the years, and have received nothing short of the best treatment possible from their staff. Whenever I have a question or need to schedule an appointment for a new brace fitting or an adjustment to an old brace (AFO/KAFO), Jan is always there to help me get answers or find an appointment that works for me and my orthotist/prosthetist. There was even a point where I REALLY needed work on my KAFO, but was stuck in the hospital and unable to make it to the office, so Lindsay and Lance came to me instead. The staff here truly understand how reliant their clients are on their services in order to maintain maximum mobility, independence, pain control, support, etc. that their products provide on a daily basis. It is with this understanding that they do their best to get you in for an appointment quickly when you need one, and if they need to make/modify/repair equipment for you they will get it done as soon as possible so there is minimum disruption in your daily routine. After over 7 years with J&K, I consider Jan, Lindsay, Lance and the rest of the staff a part of my family, and I am happy to refer my friends and family to them because I know they will be well cared for! read more

I had knee replacement surgery on my left knee at Pomona Valley Hospital and required a special foot brace due to complications. J & K received an order from my doctor for this brace from my doctor. A representative from J & K Orthopedics came to the hospital and proceeded to put a brace on my left foot that belonged on a right foot. I kept telling the lady that it was for the wrong foot and it was easy to tell because the toes of the brace were facing the opposite way that my toes were. She kept telling me that it was the correct one and sent me home with it. A couple of days later I went to my doctors office who confirmed that they made a big mistake and I had to go to J & K Orthopedics and pick up the correct one. read more

This is one of those I wish YELP would let us rate them lower. I was required to use them due to my health insurance network. Well, all I can say is I will never be back to use their services, with all their bumbling idiotic things they did and caused me suffering. Even if it costs me more money next time I will demand Hanger Orthopedics or just suffer in pain and go without! That's just how serious I am to let you understand all the pain, confusion and financial frustrations they caused me and then only saying I'm sorry. Please give me a break. I haven't had any problems here. Frankly, I don't remember the name of the man who made the orthotic for my shoes, but he did a great job, answered all my questions, and was very professional. Came back in to get some information and there was never any extra charge. When the cover for the orthotics became worn down they replaced them without a charge. I had a great experience here, the orthotics have helped the pain in my legs and I walk better now. read more

My daughter has been seeing Lance and Lindsey since she was 3 years old. From casting to making adjustments these appointments are always wonderful. Everyone in the office is professional and friendly. Both Lance and Lindsey care about their patients and take the time to explain how the brace is made and what it will correct. It isn't often that you find people who care as much as they do at J&K Orthopedics. I have had several shoe inserts made by them because of my changing feet problems and each one has worked better than the one before. When I had to switch to special shoes they were there helping me get the exact fit I needed. I don't know what I would have done without them.
