Recently I have received both rodent removal and tree service from J & M. Rodent service is still in progress since they are coming back to see if anything is trapped. So my final rating has to wait until the issue is resolved. But I can tell that their pricing was very reasonable (based on 5 other quotes I got from several other pest control companies) and so far we are happy with the work. My rating here is for the tree service that we received on 5-Feb. Joey and his team did a very good job of cutting the trees, cleaning the mess and the price was reasonable. New to this beautiful area of our great country. Completely unprepared for the hell that is sugar ants, fire ants, wasps and other horrid pests. Read a good Yelp review for Mike so I texted him with my plea for help. He responded promptly and was at my house the next day to rescue me. Evening 1: Call Mike, HE ACTUALLY PICKS UP! We chat about my new skunks and a lone resident squirrel in the attic. Set appt for day 2. Day 2: Mike shows up for the appt ON TIME! We go over the property, the problem areas, have a nice talk, and I go back to work while he sets traps and blocks off entry points for the squirrel while leaving a one way exit incase one is currently napping. Morning 3: Both traps have the skunks in them. Text Mike @ 730am. He responds back promptly he'll get them in the same morning and release them far away from my home. Evening 3: Get home from work, traps gone, skunks gone. Day 4: Follow up on noises in attic. They've ceased. Mike schedules next day job wrap up by sealing off one way door. Day 5: Problem solved. Day 6: Pay bill and thank Mike! This is what I expect from a service, especially one such as getting Skunks out of my yard where we spend a lot of time. We got Mike's name from two different pest control service companies. Those companies only dealt with insects and small pests, we thought mice had invaded our attic. They gave us Mike's name. He came out the same day and spent several hours looking around. Here's the kicker, rather than sell us on several hundreds of dollars on baits and traps; he was honest and tools us there was no evidence of mice or other rodents. Mike and J&M Pest Control really are as good as it gets. We live on a wooded 1/3 of an acre near a creek, which just invites critters. He has helped us defend against them all. Rats, Possums, Roaches, and now Fleas! I highly recommend the quarterly service as it covers you well and comes in great in a pinch when as we are, fighting against fleas! One of my favorite memories has to do with how Mike is so relational. J & M Services sealed our house from rodents, with a one year warranty. Their 100% sealing of all sides of our house included hardware cloth screwed to the bottom of our pier and beam house, and metal flashing attached to block entry points on the sides and roof. I knew from our previous home that sealing with hardware cloth under the floor of the house was the only reliable way to block rodents from entering at that level. J & M is the only company I found in the Austin area that would seal the house at floor, side and roof entry points. Mike, the owner, manages the job from sealing through trapping. His communication of the scope of work, and methods is consistent and clear. All visits from sealing to trapping are conveyed ahead by email. Mike is immediately responsive to calls and questions throughout the process. J & M's friendly and congenial manner, accompanying their efficient, and expert work made communication a pleasure. Mike, the co-owner of J & M Services implemented the entire exclusion process with his assistant Luke. Luke worked under our pier and beam house for the hours it took to block all openings into the frame of the house; adhering hardware cloth to floor level with washer head screws. The openings were created by unsealed plumbing, electric and carpentry work over the life of our 1940's home. This intensely painstaking work required inch by inch examination of the entire floor. This entailed digging a hole to access a 1960 addition from the 1940 original house. Luke took photos of his work including columns of framing, containing insulation batts, left open to the underside of the house, which he then sealed with hardware cloth. During this comprehensive sealing process Luke discovered a leak in our bathroom; showing us a photo of water soaked wood (which we then fixed). Both Mike's and Luke's care to seal our house went beyond their warranty of sealing to alert us to needed fixes; the bathroom leak, and notifying us of an infestation of bugs in the attic which they treated as part of the job. J & M's method to exclude urban wild life exceeds the common practices of exterminators; trapping, and blocking easy to reach external entry points. Total exclusion requires not only securing house sides, and roof entry points, but also under the house, the area most accessible to rodents, and least accessible to humans; conquered by J & M. Two highly rated sealing and extermination companies offered trapping and spot sealing. Neither would warranty the entire house for any period of time against further invasion of rodents. Since our attic had a significant infestation of rodents requiring removal of old insulation and replacement of ducts, replacing either or both without a comprehensive warranty would be futile. J & M Services was the only company that would warranty the entire house. Mike thoroughly sealed our house against all urban wild life invasion, allowing us to replace both attic insulation and ducting with confidence. Mike's expertise, effective work, fair price, and efficient business communication are exceptional. His pursuit of excellence, with ongoing research of chemical treatments, and mechanical practices, exceeds industry standards to give results that protect our home. We are greatly relieved to have the security of J & M's work, and wish we had known about them 3 years ago when we moved into our home. J & M's work ethic, care, and professionalism are among the absolute best I have experienced through years of home maintenance.
