I had been hearing sounds from the attic and had found two holes in an area under the eaves which had been repaired about 20+ years ago by another company. My regular pest control man, who isn't doing wildlife removal anymore, recommended J&M Services to me. When I called, they were booked up two weeks out. I was put on the cancellation wait list. In the meantime, I had another company come out and give me their assessment. Then, Mike came and did his assessment. He pointed out why he thought some things the other company had recommended were not a good idea. He pointed out some things that the other company had not mentioned. With the other company, I had to go with their whole kit and caboodle to get the one-year warranty ($2623). Mike's kit and caboodle involved a lot less (and different things) to get the house animal-proof and have the year warranty. ($821.62) Mike's plan made sense to me. I scheduled the service for two days later. In the meantime, he left a little cup of sunflower seeds in the attic to see if any animal would disturb it. Mike and his partner came as scheduled. They took about 5 hours or so to put wire up to fully screen the gables, repair the holes, block animal access to the 4-way vent and leave a trap in the attic. (No animal had disturbed the sunflower seeds.) The wire over the gables looks very neat. They cleaned up after themselves. Two days later, as scheduled, Mike came back to check the trap. Empty. At this point in time, Mike didn't think there were any animals up there. By Mike sharing information and talking about the situation from his wealth of experience, he was helping me to realize that instead of him returning twice to check a trap that would probably be empty, he could take the trap away with him right then and we could leave the cup of sunflower seeds and I could check on it every couple of days for a while. By doing it this way, he was able to take $149.39 off the bill, so my total invoice was only $672.23. In summary, I'm not positive that I did have animals in the attic. The sunflower seeds were not touched before or after the work. (It's been over 3 weeks now.) But, I do not regret one bit having this work done. There were obvious potential points of entry and it was just a matter of time before I would have had residents in the attic, if I didn't already. read more

I had a severe flea infestation problem early last spring. I called J & M Services and Mike showed up. I have 4 dogs and his primary concern was for the welfare of my pets and home. He explained all the aspects of the treatment and help me safeguard my dogs while he was performing it. He treated both back and front yard and the entire inside of my home including all of the bedding, couches and chairs. He let me know exactly what he was going to do every step of the way. It has been six months and I haven't seen a flea or bug since. As well, I had a huge hack berry tree to be taken down. The tree was sandwiched between my home and the neighbors. Joey showed up early and by the second day the entire tree was gone. This tree was a menace and it was a matter of time before it would fall and destroy my home or my neighbors. Joey and his crew were dependable and explained exactly what needed to be done as well as the time to do it. This company is local and the this team works very hard. I highly recommend J&M Services - Tree Service. Joey Soileau had his crew, on May 14, 2025 remove a number of limbs, dead branches and thinned where needed from two large Red Oaks, one very large Burr Oak, two very large Hackberry trees, pruned tall Rusty Blackhaw Viburnum bushes and removed three of the same that were dead. They used a Chipper turning all to mulch. The work was done exactly how I wanted. Proper climbing equipment and ropes to tie off limbs so they don't just drop was used. It was obvious they have experience. Safety was observed in how they went about removing limbs etc. Am very happy with their work. The guys worked well together as a team. They worked non-stop. After the work was completed, they cleaned my yard and neighbor's front yard where some of the tree debris got into portion by driveway and also underneath their cars in driveway just in case any leaves were from my trees. This review is long overdue. I have 8 rental properties in the central Austin area and needed advice on the trees. Joey was awesome. We walked each property and he identified trees that needed to be removed, what could be trimmed and educated me on potential tree issues for the future. Joey provided a detailed list of work that needed to be completed for each property. The quote was great, so I scheduled the crew to start. They removed large dead trees, trimmed up huge branches over the houses, removed small trash trees along the fence lines, etc. I am just thrilled, the properties look great! They completed the tasks very quickly, cleaned up perfectly and were very respectful to my tenants. Since then, a large branch broke during a storm and Joey took care of it the next day. I have had J&M services do my pest control for the last couple of years. Prior to J&M, I had large local company which will remain nameless. The difference is night and day. J&M services remind me about my appointment coming up via email, if the schedule time is not convenient, they will change it for me, the technician is professional and knows what he's doing, and if there is a problem or I see bugs between quarterly treatments they will come out at no charge and take care of it until I'm satisfied. In addition to that, they check for places where Critters might try to get in my attic or make a home inside my home. They also can help with those problems. Extremely Disappointed - Would Not Recommend I hired [Company Name] for what I thought would be a simple tree trimming job, but the experience was nothing short of frustrating. They showed up late without any notice, and the crew seemed unorganized and rushed. Not only did they leave a mess of branches and debris all over my yard, but they also damaged part of my fence and took no responsibility for it. To make matters worse, they overcharged me compared to the original quote, and when I called to resolve it, the customer service was dismissive and unhelpful. I rarely leave reviews, but I felt it was necessary to warn others--this company is unprofessional, careless, and not worth the money. Joey came when I first called in 2015, gave me an accurate estimate of what tree work was needed in my front and back yards, and completed the work promptly. When I called again recently about a limb behind my garage that fell in my neighbor's yard, he was again prompt and thorough, and my neighbor was pleased as well. On that trip I asked him to check a tree he had previously told me to watch as it was aging, and he removed it when it proved to have huge hollow spaces in its limbs. Despite the danger of climbing to its top, he did an excellent job of cutting it down in pieces and removing them from my yard. He was friendly, professional, prompt and thorough. I was lucky enough to use both the J (Joey for tree removal) and M (Mike for pest control), and both were great. We just bought a house and we needed some things looked at. Mike came and checked out the attic, garage, and outbuilding for any signs of critters, bugs, rodents, etc. He gave us a clean bill of health and since he said it was just the initial consultation visit, there was no charge. He's a great guy, and it was nice meeting him. We also had a couple of very large, dead trees that needed to be taken out. I had such a great experience with J&M. Joey is an honest, hard working guy who really knows his trees. He spent time telling me about the different trees in my yard and examine how they had been pruned in the past. A different tree trimmer was working on the trees above my house, and Joey noticed and informed me that the guy was doing it wrong, and told me the correct way to prune so that the trees would stay healthy. He went above and beyond what I would expect any hired hand to do, and worked with me on any decision making for my yard. He also pointed out poison ivy and told me how I could get rid of it. J&M Services are extremely knowledgeable and thorough. They service inside and out. I no longer have bugs in my yard or in my house. They work with my very random schedule and they're very patient when I have to reschedule. Mike was also very helpful initially in teaching me how to keep bugs out of my pantry. I used J & M Services to help me get rid of critters in my attic (rats and squirrels). They scheduled an appointment quickly; and were professional and efficient when they inspected the attic. They put down bait to trap whatever was in the attic and sealed all the openings on both the outside and inside of the house. They came back to check on the traps and there had been no activity....seems like the critters were not in the attic when they came (all good news). We had J&M take down a very mature Bald Cypress tree in our front garden area. They did an amazing job! No damage occurred to other plants below the tree and the garden edging remained unimpaired. Great job in safely managing the work and the area around their work. The team worked amazing well together between cutting, hauling and chipping. I wish my grandkids were there to watch! We had squirrels in our attic and sub-floors. What a pain. Mike came out, filled up the holesand trapped, and released them. Mike continues to provide quarterly pest control for us. Joey did a major tree trimming job on our trees last year and they still look great. These guys are great! I've used both Mike and Joey for tree care and pest control. I have also referred both of them to multiple people. Multiple people have given me feed back that Mike has stopped both rodents and insects that multiple other companies couldn't find or trap/kill. J and M services did professional work in removing a huge Hackberry tree as well as a large on-it's-last leg Maple tree late June/early July 2017. Was very impressed with what they did and how they did it. They are professional in appearance and attitude. Clean up work was best I've experienced. Again on February 26, 2018, they came out and trimmed, pruned, cleared out dead branches in two large Red Oak trees in my front yard. They did exactly what we discussed. Great honest service, We thought we had a critter in our attic. Mike came out and inspected right away and checked all around the house and went to the attic. He found some droppings but they were from geckos. He set out some bait and said to check within a week to see if was disturbed. Turns out the footsteps we hear were on top of the roof.
