I had a craving for one of their veggie sub wraps in Syrian bread. As soon as I called I should've know the business had changed hands. Typically when I order a veggie sub, they know exactly what I'm talking about. This time, while the worker was very pleasant, he didn't ask the right questions. No big deal. I also ordered a seafood dinner as well for my son. The delivery service was timely and the delivery driver was very pleasant. While the seafood dinner was very good, I can't say the same for the two veggie subs my husband and I ordered. In years past they were stuffed with veggies and the bread was soft and fresh. This time, they were sparsely filled and the Syrian bread was on the stale side with lots of firmness. Not sure if I'll go back or not but I hope they listen to their reviews and make the necessary changes so they will be successful. read more

We swung by J&M during our afternoon dog walk today and I think this may just be my new favorite pizza spot. Online ordering was simple - we wanted the Main Street Special but then ended up making a bunch of customizations because it was such an easy click to do so. We got ours well done, changed the sauce option, added ricotta, changed up the veg. Pick-up was straight forward - helpful front desk in what is mostly a counter service shop front with a few clean and comfortable looking tables. We took ours to go, but then only made it a short distance before we had to sit down and share a slice. So good! The crust was amazing, as was everything, especially the ricotta, pepperoni and garlic. Will absolutely be back. read more

Hit and miss. Pizza is very good for the area. Sandwiches are sometimes good but they can be skimpy with the fillings. I asked for extra, extra cheese and I think I got two slices on a SUB! The French fries were terrible tonight. Cold and hard and not because of the travel time. They were way overdone and it was obvious that they took already cooked fries and dropped them into the vat again. You're not getting away with anything doing this, no one will enjoy that crap. I would say that we're happy with our food less than half the time. We don't order from them for a while but then give them a try and it's a crap shoot. Wanted to try this well known shop and the opportunity presented itself. Place was very clean and offered plenty of seating for anyone eating in. The person that took my order was very nice and kept asking questions about how I wanted my sub. I ordered the Wicked Italian, with hots, pickles, light onion and oil. Overall it was a very solid sandwich. Very fresh roll and meats. Loved the fresh mozzarella. Cost was a little steep at $16.00+, but not too far off. This is one of the better sub shop Italians I have had. Was disappointed they didn't have any pizza slices but it was better for my waistline, and means I will have to head back and order a whole one. read more

40 year resident of North Andover. I've never bought a pizza here that wasn't soggy on the bottom. That first bite is never crispy/crunchy. Rather is always droopy and soggy (raw dough). I still get one every year thinking "This could be the year they fix this"..but my dreams have been dashed every year. read more

Just ordered a large cheese. Never again. For starters the cheese is so soupy it falls off the pizza and the sauce just tastes like garlic. So much you can smell the garlic through the box. It's extremely oily as well. read more

What a great place! I came in for lunch and had an amazing sandwich. It was a speical named "the Niko" and it was homemade chicken cutlets, fresh mozarella cheese, prochuetto, roasted red peppers , on a braided roll. SO good and it was good sized too! I used to love this place, got plenty of subs but have to give it an honest 1 star. Worst Steak and Cheese sub I have ever gotten in my life. I've had plenty of terrible ones too. Their other subs are usually great which is puzzling. Got one a few months back... it was unedible. Full of chewy muscle, grizzle, fat... everything but steak. HORRIBLE. Threw it away. Got one a week ago to see if it was just a fluke as I like their other subs.. It was even worse. I was starving, Ate roughly 2 bites from one half... then simply opened the bun to search for edible consumable meat. None. I threw away 75% of it and went out to get a sub somewhere else. Good place but they need to really square the steak and cheese horror situation away. I now don't trust anything from there. Will need lots more time to return. read more

We have been ordering from j and m for years as well as other restaurants in the area. Each restaurant has their good items which bring us back time and again. We've come back to J and M recently b/c they changed their onion rings snd they were really good. Tonite we again ordered 2 subs, 1cheese burger dinner and the onion rings. They changed back to the old very disappointing version which are a big soggy mess that are stuffed in a container that looks like a greasy birds nest and we ended up throwing them away. I called them back to let them know we were disappointed and to provide them with useful feedback. It was a very strange response from the person on the other end of the line though. The person answering the phone doubled down on their serving choice, showed no concern or empathy and instead said that they would not consider changing back to the ones we loved, the frozen version b/c their customers prefer their "homemade" ones! I went to buy a ham + cheese sandwich, almost 16.00 skimpy, small sub roll, never saw one this small, not your average sub roll, a few pieces of ham + cheese, ,, next day went to market basket bought 1 pound of ham ( same kind) 4.99 pound, bought 1 pound of cheese 3.99 pd, 6 rolls for 3.50, all this for less than 16.00 J & M should be ashamed of themselves in the community that has supported them all these years that they should charge this type of money unnecessarily but like everyone else, greed, greed, greed, I'll never go back there if you want a good sandwich there's a lot other places with homemade bread. read more

We had an awful experience here today- prices on their menu are not the prices they are charging. The two pizzas and small garlic bread we ordered came to $53 plus- The owner charged $5 more for both pizzas than what's printed on his menu. Reliable, quick, and good. Eaten many items on the menu- top personal favorites are calzones, sandwiches, and salads. Pizza is never soggy. Service is quick. My family and I order here several times a month and they've never once messed up an order. Some places to sit if eating inside- not a lot of space though, chairs and tables only, and no bathroom. The subs are good when they ever get it right, which is seldom. Every time we go, at least one sub has to be brought back because it's wrong. A simple salmon, provolone, lettuce, and tomatoes on Italian sub becomes a spicy ham with extra onions for $17. How about listening skills when taking an order. We repeat it no less than four times, they repeat it back, we correct, they repeat it, and again repeat. Sad to say, we will never come back again. A great pizza, sub, salad and appetizer spot! Everything that I've tried has been delicious. The portions are generous and I appreciate that I always have leftovers, making the value for the price well worth it. My kids enjoy the cheese pizza and all love the robust sauce and the soft yet crispy crust. My current favorite is the spicy chicken calzone and/or any of the delicious salads. My husband loves their chicken salad sandwich too. I've ordered on the phone and picked up and done delivery and my food has always been ready when I arrived or delivered in the time frame promised. One of the best cleanest places in the area and the food is great for a sub- pizza shop. I come here for the chicken cutlet or the chicken parm its always stacked with meat. The braided roll is a must get goes so well on anything.. The staff is friendly and there are a few tables so you can always find a seat to dine in.. parking is tuff as its only street parking but I get lucky most times and find a spot up front.. I have brought a few friends here and they all loved it. huge portions and not expensive at all. They accept all forms of payments.. public bathrooms for their customers but you have to walk through the kitchen but you can see that the work area is spotless. I am usually not big on pizza shops for but this place is always good. give it a try if you are in the area and you wont regret it. read more

The best food! You should really taste the difference of this place. I don't like other pizza shops anymore. This is the best place for all the goodies! No wonder they have one awards for every year as being the best in Massachusetts. Everything taste so fresh and the staff is really nice and fast workers.
