Only gripe was the tv cutting out of service. Not so crowded either. I would've stayed another night but in all honesty there's not much else to do. Good prices for cabins and surprisingly comfy beds, with a lot of personal space. Staff was so friendly and warm. Really cool for checking in if you look lost around grounds. I would definitely come back! Food around the area was surprisingly good, and friendly people.

It was so cute, as we pulled into the park there were about 10-15 colorful train cars and cabooses. Each one was your "room" for the night, and you parked along side of it. They were super cute inside! All wood, several windows, large bed, nice sized bathroom and decorated with train pictures. The park was really clean with lots of families biking, playing in the pool, or just walking around the park.

Both rooms were clean, well-maintained and in top condition. We had a good sized room, king size bed, table and chairs, fridge and microwave, sofa, TV, heat and A/C, sink separated from the bathroom, shower/tub and coffee maker. The hotel grounds are attractive and nicely maintained. It's in a safe neighborhood and there is a small to-go coffee shop across the street. A small, well stocked grocery store is just down the street. It's a husband and wife operation and we found them to be warm and friendly in any interaction. On our initial check in the wife not only quickly checked us in but clued us as to waterfalls to see, nearby restaurants she frequented and Dunsmuir 's wonderful tap water, from the same source that is bottled and sold elsewhere (the tap water is to die for). The husband was also quite helpful checking us in the second time, changing our room to the second floor, giving us some backstory on the hotel and directions to a nice Riverwalk. The price was quite reasonable and we had a pleasant stay both times. Highly recommended.

The mattress, the shower, the atmosphere…read more After a decent 4 hour drive we arrived here exhausted from the rain and ready to rest. upon opening the door I was hit with the smell of my long gone grandparents house, followed by a welcoming warmth. we proceeded to shower which was PERFECT it was soft but with a good amount of pressure to scrub the crud off you. Now the bed, how do you make something both perfectly soft but unimaginably firm? COMFORTABLE isn't even close but uugghh will be returning to sleep a weekend away.

This hotel claims it's haunted but the scariest thing about it is how disgustingly dirty it is…read more I had booked a room on my way up to Oregon and arrived late at night looking forward to some much needed sleep. When I arrived to my room, I was horrified that it had not been cleaned before my arrival. There were gross stains on the bed sheets , trash full of hair and who knows what else, dirty dishes, and dirty towels. There was no one on site and no one responded to my messages. I got a refund from Airbnb immediately (they saw the pictures I documented and sent to them and said that was cause alone for an immediate refund) and left to go find another hotel at 11 pm. Do not waste your time - this place is unhygienic which is even more absurd during the pandemic.

He took them to a beautiful spot near Mount Shasta where they both caught a few trout. My son is a total beginner and Jack was patient with him and gave valuable instruction. They loved his dog, River! My son wants to go again and continue to learn about fly fishing. Jack was very responsive to my emails and easy to communicate with. I really appreciate this special experience my Dad and son were able to have that wouldn't have been possible without Jack Trout.

I brought my 8-year-old son Brandon along for his first real fly fishing adventure, and Jack made it a day we'll both remember forever. From the moment we hit the water, Jack was patient, knowledgeable, and great with my son. The float down the river was absolutely stunning, and the fishing action was steady throughout the day. Jack knew exactly where to go, and we hooked into some beautiful rainbows... 12 strikes and 9 landed, some north of 18 inches. Jack grilled up a hot ribeye steak lunch riverside--seriously next level. It felt more like a gourmet adventure than a fishing trip at times. Spotting wildlife along the river including deer and a bald eagle as we tackled the mild rapids was awesome! I've fished this river from the banks for years, but the float trip really gets you to locations that you can't otherwise access. If you're looking for an experienced, fun, and family-friendly guide on the Upper Sac, Jack Trout is your guy. We'll be back for sure.
