Lovely themed bedrooms. Delicious home-cooked complete breakfast. Gracious hosts. It's run in the old-fashioned, small town way.

Just had a lovely stay at Connie and Rick Apple's Riverhouse Bed and Breakfast…read more We stayed in the West Room which offered an en-suite bathroom with a large tub and shower, two comfortable sitting chairs, and a deck overlooking the backyard and trees beyond. The bed was very comfortable and quiet location made for a very restful night. Breakfast was basic fare but ample and tasty. Great way to get us on the road. Coffee to go was greatly appreciated too. Both Connie and Rick were welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and certainly would stay here again whether we were traveling through or staying in the area for several days.

My friends would say, "Sure, stay here when you're in town. Not a problem at all. We have a guest room, and a really nice backyard. Oh, you're bringing your bicycle(s) too? That's fine; we have a garage where you can keep them safe and dry." What would probably happen next is that we'd avail ourselves of all of this hospitality: my friends would cook us eggs for breakfast, give us glasses of wine in the evening, and let us go about our business in between the breakfast and the wine. And then, not ready to say goodbye to the weekend yet, we would probably go off on a long hike and not come back to collect our bicycles until nigh dark. When we finally made it back, my friends would be worried about us and would have already called around to try to find out whether we were okay. All in all, quite nice. It's good to have old friends in Redding.

Stopped here overnight on a road trip up to Oregon and while we didn't get to experience everything…read morethe inn has to offer, what we did experience was genuinely lovely. The inn itself is charming and the breakfast room is welcoming... we left too early to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast but noted it for next time. We did make it to the evening wine tasting, which was a nice touch. A white and a red were offered. Small hiccup... the server mentioned she'd have to run across the street to their sister property to grab a wine opener. We didn't want to wait so we just went with the red since it was already open. She also gave us a dinner recommendation that turned out to be a good call. The room was spacious and clean for two people. Good amenities... a safe, a fridge that's bigger than a mini but smaller than a full size, a microwave, and a dinette seating area. The outlets are dated and made keeping a charger plugged in a little frustrating. But the detail that genuinely impressed me... two luggage racks. Sounds small but even higher end hotels usually only give you one. That kind of thoughtfulness adds up. Would stay again if passing through Mount Shasta... and next time we're staying long enough for breakfast.

We experienced an issue with our booking upon arrival, but Tiffany and the management team handled it professionally and quickly. As a generous gesture, management provided us with one complimentary night out of our three-night stay, which we greatly appreciated. Thank you! Tiffany also shared many helpful recommendations for local attractions and restaurants, which made our visit even more enjoyable. We stayed in a double queen room that was very clean, comfortable, and charming. The blueberry waffle breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the hotel's classy, nostalgic atmosphere made our stay feel extra special. The gardens were beautifully maintained and filled with blooming flowers. There were plenty of chairs and tables throughout the grounds, providing peaceful spots to relax and enjoy the scenery. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We truly appreciated the exceptional hospitality and look forward to returning in the future!

The Inn at Shasta Lake was a quaint bed and breakfast located about 20 minutes outside of Redding…read more It was quiet and peaceful here. They allow pets in certain rooms which is nice if you're traveling with dogs! I enjoyed how communicative the staff were. If you needed something, you can text a number and they were on it! They advertise that you may not have service here, but we had service and they also had wifi. They had great views outside on the deck. The grounds were nicely maintained. It was very easy to get here and right off highway 5. On the other hand, being a bed and breakfast I was expecting breakfast to be a bit better tasting. Breakfast is included in your stay. They provide fruit, yogurt, granola, juice, coffee, and toast. You get to also choose one main entree served with a side of potatoes. The main entree rotates so it's different daily. Overall breakfast could definitely be improved taste wise, but it's very convenient and nice of them to do this. Another downfall was the temperature in the main lobby/ dining area. They ran it hot in there and if you needed to get ice (they don't have ice machines, so they provide buckets of ice) it was all melted. This happened twice. Minor complaints!
