First time in this property. The room was clean and has a good setup. Stayed in Room #4. The online check in was great. Easy instruction to follow for getting in the property. I will definitely return

Love this hotel! Its definitely swanky! We have stayed in room 1, room 4, room 7 a few times and now room 2! Room 2 is our new favorite! So clean and cozy! Waking up to the birds chirping is always a perfect way to wake up! Thank you!

Our suite #7 our room is so beautiful. I'm in a wheelchair and the room was so fantastic for me.

We had the best time here from registering and booking our reservation. They were so accommodating for someone that especially is not able to stand and they were able to provide me with all the measurements that I needed. The suite is so huge and so beautiful. Enjoyed every moment and took many showers in that beautiful shower. I highly recommend staying here when you're in Dunsmuir even if you're not handicapped. But if you are handicapped it is a must. Thanks again for the wonderful stay. There are many restaurants in town and also there's a little grocery store. You don't even have to leave town.

My daughter and I were traveling from Oregon to California and she was very sick. I decided to stay at this hotel because she was sick and wanted to lay down. We left the next morning in a hurry at around 5:30 a.m. because I wanted to get my daughter home to a doctor and my daughter left her laptop. When Jerilyn texted that we left it, I asked her to ship it. That was a Monday and by Friday, she had not sent it and quit responding, completely ignoring my messages and not returning my calls. It has been 11 days and it still is not here. When I checked again today, I said I would call the Sheriff's office. Her texts were very passive aggressive today and I'd be happy to post what she sent. My daughter was trying to finish college while sick and needed her computer. She said "good thing they invented iCloud". I'm assuming she meant my daughter could work on a different computer. I guess she thinks it's ok to keep someone's belongings. She also had to emphasize that we left it. I offered to pay and asked for express shipping. She had zero concern for returning our laptop. Yes, we left it but it should not take that long and I explained our stressful situation. Very unprofessional and such a lack of empathy. Im still wondering if we will receive it.

I would have rated this higher, but we got up and left very early because of the ANT invasion (on the wall, on the kitchenette counter, in my handbag). Apparently, we heard all of Dunsmuir is having an ant problem because of the dry weather and the drought is not helping any of the businesses. I booked my reservation through Booking.com. I have not seen this place before and wanted to avoid my husband's favorite because it's too rustic for me. Plus, we have never stayed on the downtown side and my husband had no clue this side of town existed even though Dunsmuir is one of his favorite places. The photos and the reviews were intriguing. We were running late and received a call with our code to the door and hotel room. Fortunately, someone was still there when we arrived. I'm bad with names, but she was very helpful with places to see and eat. We even saw her at The Wheelhouse when we were picking up dinner. There is no 24 hour concierge or a person on site, so it's like being in your own apartment. There are no elevators, only stairs to the rooms. The only room downstairs is the ADA room. We parked in front of the hotel, but there is limited parking next door and parking really is off street. Fortunately, we were there on a Sunday, so we didn't have any issues with that. We were in room 3 and if you look at Jim's review, he nailed it. The room is very small, but I thought is was tastefully decorated (i.e., cute). I thought the bathroom was fairly large and nicely decorated - No complaints on the shower. The shampoo/conditioner bottles were very small, but we rarely use them. I did have to go downstairs to ask for soap. I saw the ant bait/traps in our room so in the back of my mind, I hoped they didn't arrive, but unfortunately, they did. The window view is very sketchy looking. I did get to view the ADA room and Room #1. Both are very spacious and if you are looking to spread out a little more, those are the rooms to stay in. If the ant problem goes away, I might consider it again and pay a little more for the larger room.

We frequent this quiet little town to get away from the chaos of the city and for the activities the outdoor activities the area provides. We decided to spoil ourselves for a special occasion and stay at this beautiful boutique Hotel. There's convenient street parking right in front, and it's walking distance to shops and restaurants in the historic downtown area. The beautifully inviting lobby is passcoded, and so was the door to our suite. I like how it felt high tech. The room was very spacious, up to date, very clean, and had lots of amenities, a kitchenette, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was also very spacious and provided everything you can think of. The staff was very inviting and helpful with all our needs, and gifted us with a welcome card, chocolates and bottle of wine when they were informed we just tied the knot. We're glad we treated ourselves here. It was relaxing, and quiet. Just what we needed.

Super cute, boutique style hotel with original hw floors. Bedding was exquisitely soft and bed so comfy to sleep on. We stayed in King Room #6. Decor was super cute. Nice, deep Koehler bathtub with hot water and lovely bathroom toiletries. Fresh ground coffee and even 1/2 and 1/2 in the fridge. The room came with a small fridge, 2 plates cups glasses wine glasses, too, all hidden in a small closet. The room came with a sitting area. Wi-Fi worked well. Lots of cable channels. Heater excellent. Hotel was super quiet - no street noise, no neighbor noise. Easy access off freeway and perfect stop on way from CA to OR. Dog friendly for $25. Super clean linens and towels. VERY Covid safe with hand sanitizer and masks around the hotel. Only con was the front desk employee wasn't very friendly and looked like she didn't want to be there. We arrived at ~ 6:15 pm on a Friday.

Absolutely adorable hotel. Dunsmuir is adorable and this hotel is no exception. They've remodeled it beautifully and didn't spare on fixtures or on the interior to include heated floors in the bathrooms - very well done! We stayed in room 1 (pictured). Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay again!

Don't worry, we are seasoned travelers and brought king sheets to put on top for the dogs. The mattresses are memory foam! We love them as we have a tempurpedic at home. The train is far enough in the distant from this room that it's quite pleasant to hear the sound across the river. Make your coffee and stroll over to view Mount Shasta from the benches provided in the morning, but the really photo op is just after sunset when the mountain glows. Note, the pine tree sap will drip on your vehicle if you park in the designated spot for room 10. If you back in, it gets on the windshield. Nose first, not so much. We travel with windex and microfiber cloth, so we were prepared. What's nice is all the options for a stay at this resort. If you want a cabin with a hot tub it's available, or an Airstream, the have rows of them. It's a nice walk down to the botanical gardens and the river. This would be an ideal location for a group event. Many folks recommended coming back in the Fall, so hope to return again.

On our initial check in the wife not only quickly checked us in but clued us as to waterfalls to see, nearby restaurants she frequented and Dunsmuir 's wonderful tap water, from the same source that is bottled and sold elsewhere (the tap water is to die for). The dining car was a special treat, the meal overall was very good but could have been better with a little attention to detail. The rigatoni pasta dish was absolutely perfect , popping with flavor and as good as any I've ever had. We ordered a couple glasses of pinot noir with our dinner and when they arrived they were noticeably warm like 80-85 degrees like they had been roasting in the sun , not a pleasant room temp like they should be. We also ordered a large caesar salad that we all split and the lettuce was warm like it was sitting in a window soaking up the sun, plate was not chilled and even if it was it couldn't have cooled down hot lettuce, salad was light on dressing , the halved petite romaine was very bitter, i've purchased this lettuce at costco a couple times and stopped buying it because the petit romaine tends to be very bitter, i love the consistency of the smaller denser heads of lettuce but the bitterness is unpleasant .....hopefully the chef is tasting his food and can see what he thinks. My wife ordered the pasta with shrimp and loved it! My dad had the rib eye and said it was pretty good but maybe not 57$ good. The pasta dishes were 10/10 amazing , reasonably priced and generous in size , the warm wine and salad is an easy fix, it was a nice treat after a week of camping and cooking to not have to , so highly recommend giving them a try for dinner during your stay!! I recently ordered the steak - $58.00 - making it the most expensive entree in the area (including the high end places in Mccloud, etc) and it had no sear. was under cooked. Had no seasoning. No sauce. The potatoes were rubber and the veggies were gross. The pork chop was similarly under-cooked and had the same sides -so same feedback. This is a major sanitation concern. IF the property thoroughly cleans and sanitizes the kitchenware between stays, this chore is an unnecessary burden on paying guests. It is incredibly unsettling to think the dishes we used may not have been professionally washed or sanitized. The cabin itself clearly got a "landlord special" French doors were stuck and wouldnt open. Had to call maintenance to get them fixed. That was really sweet of them! The room had a microwave and small fridge w/freezer. There was a small office desk with coffee and ice. Tv, a/c, heater unit. Two things to note: 1. If you use 3 ports to charge at the clock on the nightstand, it uses too much power and one of the electronics needs to be unplugged. There are wall outlets, so you'd need to use those. 2. We didn't have a shower curtain when we arrived. I thought it was one of those modern places where it's just open, but we definitely needed a shower curtain. I felt so bad showering and getting everything wet in the bathroom. Housekeeping was kind to answer quickly and gave us towels to clean up. The fan in the bathroom isn't that effective.
