And once the second therapist took over, her massage turned bad. Honestly, I would've been upset too if that happened to me. Although my therapist did leave halfway through and said she had to move her car, but she came back pretty fast. I do remember questioning if it was the same therapist that came back to me, and honestly, I'm not that sure after hearing about my partner's experience. The hot stones were a nice touch. And I really liked the heating pads she put on my back while she was working on my legs. The pressure was deep, but thats exactly what my body needed. She went a little too deep working on my thighs. I told her it was a little too intense and she adjusted to lighter pressure. Booking was super easy. We got off our cruise early in the morning and our hotel wasn't ready till 3pm. I spent a couple hours trying to find massage appointments for us in the downtown area. It was very challenging on a Sunday so I was grateful once Serenity Spa sad they had availability for the both of us. It was a little further away but I'm glad we were able to check out this part of Miami. Coral Gables is a super cute neighborhood. This establishment was pretty clean. The walls are very thin so you can hear other's conversations, but it didn't bother me as much. I wish I knew my therapist's name so I can book again when in town. I asked the lady their names when I was paying but she seemed a little confused on who worked on us, maybe because of the switching of therapists in between? The rating of the stars is very challenging for me because of all the above factors. I'd say atmosphere is 5 stars. My massage was 4 stars. My partner says 2.5 stars once the second person took over. The second therapist was pretty much just rubbing instead of massaging. She started massaging her face without asking. And did a weird stomach massage without asking. Out of all the massages I've gotten, and I get them pretty often, I've never had anyone work on my stomach. I found that to be a bit odd.

The woman who did my facial spoke very, very limited English but was kind and did try. Although it was a fear of mine since I've never had a facial before. But, I didn't quite get that :( After the general cleansing of my face from my makeup, she puts a mask and the mister which made it a little hard for me to breathe (is that normal?) afterwards she proceeded with the extractions! Then, another mask, tiny hand massage and some different creams on my face which I wish I knew what they were! It lasted the full hour and maybe a few extra minutes. In the end, my face felt clean, delicate and soft! It was an enjoyable experience for the most part (besides having a hard time breathing)! I picked it as it's the cheapest deal around I could find!:) I parked in the back where there's a large parking lot and I walked in at the front. It is a little weird the entrance door is all blacked out. In the lobby at the front desk a guy greets me. I tell him I will do half hour as I only want to do my back. This man is a first class hustler because he keeps trying to talk me into an hour and then into 45min. I stick to the half hour as I don't know what therapist I get either way. I am guided to the room and to snap a picture, I try to turn up the light switch. Now did I not know it was the volume button and suddenly I'm blasting spa music in the building:) A man that doesn't speak English walks in. I try to show him where it hurts. He was very friendly. But he's close to a dominatrix because I was in pain half of the time even I asked to be more gentle. I'm bony and my muscles aren't really in good shape so I feel like he will tear something any time. He works fast, you don't feel like time is being wasted. In the end warm towels and hot stones are being used. I asked to put my arthritis cream on the sore spot on my spine and he is very helpful to do so. The massage was 31min long so it wasn't shorter than what you pay for. I got dressed and walked out. I tipped the therapist and then try to handle the rest with the front desk attendant. I show the yelp check in, and he says it's only for hour massages. The yelp check in offer says any so he ends up giving me the discount. I did tip half of that back to him. The front desk is pushing the hustle mentality a little too far. I don't know if it's a Chinese thing but it is borderline rude. I rather find a place where I can come often to take care of my back issues then being pushed into paying more and talked into something I don't want. Service is good depending on therapist you get but if you like deep tissue then you are at the right location for that!
