I have used J&S Electric as my go to electrical contractor over my years as Director of Facilities for a commerical developer in Northern Virginia. Being responsible for 22 buildings with over 1.2 million square feet of office space, research, development labs and numerous secure government agencies operating 24/7. Whether it be preventive maintenance inspection, emergency response and repairs, or tenant improvements J&S Electric has always responded timely with a vast knowledge and the highest level of quality service and customer satisfaction. Great job. Super friendly electricians. Jose knows what he is doing. Charged a fair price. Highly recommend this company.

J&S Electric is an amazing company for all your electrical needs. We needed several tasks completed including having an additional power socket added to our garage, several light fixtures were flickering and needed attention, plus several flip switches throughout the house just were not working properly. We searched extensively to find a reliable company with good reviews before we called J&S Electric, and we were definitely impressed. We were so happy to work with Sara who explained how their company worked the initial consult...her customer service was wonderful! Then, when Jose and Santos came to do the work, we were very happy. They're professional yet so friendly and courteous. Even our little rescue dog loved them! Jose and Santos fixed our over the sink light fixture in our kitchen and in the laundry room and did such a good job, it's like we have a new home...their work is impeccable. Their pricing was excellent as well. We simply cannot recommend J&S Electric highly enough...they work very hard to earn your business and we are so grateful we listened to the advice of other customers who were equally happy with their work. Thank you, J&S Electric!!! You all are the best!!! read more

I found this company through Yelp and I'm so glad I called them. I needed one of my outdoor GFCI Receptacle replaced so my daughter could have her Christmas lights and ultimately leave me alone. I called one afternoon and they gave me an appointment for the next morning. Jose arrived at perfect time and was very prompt and professional in replacing the receptacle. He was also very receptive to my questions and by time he left I knew that I would use this company, and hopefully Jose, for any future electrical needs. All and all, I recommend this company if you're in the market for any electrical services. read more

Our stove stopped working and after working with an appliance repair company, it was determined that either the 240V outlet or breaker wasn't supplying the right voltage. I called around and the big name shops weren't available to look at this issue until the next day. I stumbled upon J & S and was able to make an appointment between 1030am-12pm. The technician called and said he would actually be there at 10:20am and he showed up early as stated. It's a nice feeling when companies stick to their word. Jose (not the owner, he just happened to be named Jose) was able to diagnose the issue quickly and resolve it. While he was there I also asked him to replace an outlet that a tenant had apparently stuck a screw in the neutral hole. He also gave us some tips on what to look out for that didn't need to be done right now, but to consider it in the future. I feel the price was fair for the level of work, and the speed at which they were able to show up and resolve the problem. Jose wore a mask and booties to prevent tracking dirt on the floors and it was appreciated. read more

This is a lovely company. They responded quickly to my call and Jose, their technician was not only on time - he was early. He replaced my bad switch and checked out a light in the bathroom I thought was broke (it wasn't and he showed me how to replace the bulb - then replaced it for me gratis). I was impressed with his attention to detail - even made sure all the screws on the plate cover were in the same orientation. I will definitely use them again when needed! read more

J&S Electric definitely should be listed in Prince William County Best Pick Reports quality home service guide. Jose responded to my electrical emergency and the service was 5 Star from start to finish. I was fortunate to have him on site within an hour from my reporting my problem. He explained everything he needed to do in order to identify and resolve my problem. He was methodical and his attention to detail stood out. I appreciated his candid assessment and recommendations on how to correct some other required work that was identified. He provided energy saving tips and recommendations to consider. I will now only use Jose from J&S Electric for all my electrical needs. Hands down the best electrical service I've experienced since purchasing our home in 2009. The price I paid was well worth it, especially considering the response time. Exceptional experience. read more

I highly recommend J & S Electric! We had a ceiling light go out. I called J & Electric. Sara politely scheduled our service appointment. I thought it was the wall dimmer switch that needed to be replaced, but Jose quickly found the problem; there was a short circuit in the ceiling light. Jose went to the store and got two high quality LED ceiling light fixtures to replace the damaged fixture and another matching fixture, as I requested. He did an excellent job replacing the ceiling light fixtures and replacing the old wall dimmer switch with a modern wall dimmer switch. We are very happy with our new ceiling lights and our new wall dimmer switch. J & Electric provided exactly what we needed, with great professionalism and courtesy. Thank you very much, Jose and Sara! read more

I called last minute due to my new dryer needing a new outlet. They were able to squeeze me in at a time that was convenient for me. Jose and a apprentice came to change my dryer outlet and put a new LED dimmer switch in. They were both very nice and accommodating. They made sure to cover their shoes so they didn't track any dirt in the house. The cost of the repair was about the same as I was quoted by other companies that couldn't make it out that day. I would recommend them without any reservations. read more

Jose knows his stuff, was prompt showing up for the appointment and wears mask/foot-cover when indoors and works clean (2 stars for these). But he didn't do what was necessary (fix the remote operated fan and light fixture) maybe because my ceiling was a bit high and he needed to use a 12 ft ladder (he mentioned that the ceiling fans in the bedroom would be no problem because that room had lower ceilings). He suggested that I go to the Home Depot to get a new remote and "hopefully" that would fix it! He did replace some GFCI outlets that were operational because he said they were an older model that might need to be changed at some future time so why not now. He was rather insistent and has some good reviews here so I went with his recommendation and paid almost $400. But I was left feeling unsatisfied with the work and believe that it could have been better. I will be looking for another electrician next time. read more

We hired Jose initially to install all new electrical outlets and recessed lighting when we remodeled our kitchen and laundry room. Shortly after, we decided to do a complete lighting revamp in our home and had recessed lighting put in every room, had 1 fan removed, and another fan installed. During the process, we found out we needed to have our breaker box completely replaced...not a cheap thing or an easy feat, but Jose was able to take care of everything without an issue. We were extremely satisfied with the work that he completed and also with his professionalism & the respect that he showed our home and belongings. Jose made sure that we understood what would be changing and even offered advice on placement, etc. while doing both walk-throughs. I do not need any further electrical work done, but if I did, I would go back to J & S every time. Jose will give you a fair price on all services-he is not in the business of ripping anyone off and we truly appreciate the transparency that he offers. We have since referred him to our family members and they are having him work on their house currently. Please give him a call if you need any work done on your home...you won't regret it! read more

"J" is Jose the electrician and "S" is Sara his wife. She answers the phone. We hired J&S electric because we believed we had a short in a circuit. It would flip periodically. Of course when he came out it happened to be a time when it was working. He stayed two hours. I paid $200. He left. The next day the circuit went out and stayed out. I asked him to come back and take a look. He accused me of doing something with the circuit and therefore was my fault. We did not touch anything. It was going to cost me another $130 at a minimum for him to come out and look at the ORIGINAL problem. Now I have to go to small claims court to get the $200 back and start this process all over again. I am the first one to admit I am not an electrician. However, I do know we spent $200 and the original issue remains unaddressed (i.e., 1/3 of the house has no power). One thing to have to start over but not with the same electrician. read more
