I wasn't getting anywhere when I asked a rabbi I know if he could recommend someone for me. He wholeheartedly recommended Andrew Francis with Ductless By Design. As a Beaverton resident, I wouldn't have considered selecting an installer from Salem, but I'm so glad I did! Andrew worked with me to secure an instant rebate through EnergyTrust of Oregon in order to keep my costs low, and he also offered me a great deal on another discontinued Fujitsu system that he was able to acquire at great savings. Days before my installation, however, Andrew discovered that his distributor had returned all of the head units that could have been paired with the outdoor unit that he was going to sell me, and it would have taken an additional week to obtain another head unit. This was just days before the first heat wave of the season, so I was disappointed by this turn in events. Andrew, though, was willing to upgrade me to the latest Daikin Atmosphera model with the new R-32 refrigerant at no charge, so I agreed. My installation was therefore able to proceed as scheduled. Andrew installed my unit out front while Danny worked on the interior installation. Both did an exceptional job, but it was particularly challenging for Danny since my previous mini-split installation was done improperly. Danny managed to overcome the issues, though, and he did a fantastic job. There was an initial snafu with regards to a low refrigerant warning post-installation, but Danny came out the following day and topped off the refrigerant, and the warning light never came back on. Both Danny and Andrew, however, insisted on coming back out the following Monday to ensure that my refrigerant levels were adequate, in spite of that meaning another two-hour round trip for them. It turns out that Daikin had not pre-charged the outdoor unit with the appropriate amount of refrigerant, causing the issue I had with the warning light. My new Daikin Atmosphera has been performing like a champ, and I hope to get many years of service from it. Thanks to Andrew and Danny's impeccable installation, I can rest easy knowing that it was done properly. I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone else contemplating the purchase of a new mini-split! You can't go wrong with Ductless By Design!!

Nate (technician) showed up during the scheduled window. In fact, he was 30 minutes early. After an hour or so, Nate identified the cause of the problem. He had a suggestion on how to remedy the problem, but advised he wanted to confer with Jason. I received a call the following day from Jason with a quote that I felt was very reasonable.
