This is the first time I've had "restaurant-prepared food" since February because I've been cooking at home because of the pandemic. This food cart is part of a pod of about seven food carts placed out on an outdoor patio. Ron and I thought fish and chips sounded delicious so that's what we ordered from Wolf, the proprietor of the cart. Ron hunted down another cart who served iced tea and purchased some for us. We really had to laugh at Wolf. He saw our iced tea and went right down and bought himself a glass and saluted us with his full glass. The food we ordered was very fresh and delicious and plentiful (three cod filets, French fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce) and all this food cost $11 a plate which I found to be a very reasonable price. Wolf also offers clam strips and prawns for about the same price and offers these ingredients in sandwich form. I'm stuffed right now as I write this review. Before we left, we washed our hands at a very clean outdoor hand-washing station, and I noted employees of other food carts actively engaged in cleaning. Although we took the bus to get here, there is a fenced-off parking lot and there is plenty of street parking available. We did not use the restrooms If you want some very fresh fish dishes, I really recommend this fine cart. Ron and I really enjoyed our time there. read more

Good food but no masks in the kitchen. We are two years into this. It's not that hard. If they don't follow this health law, what other health codes do they choose to ignore? It saddens me to have to write this poor review. I've had the halibut fish & chips delivered several times. Granted, it's been a year since the last time. The biggest draw to me is always the tater tots instead of fries. I was worried when the description says "tater tots or equivalent". But I'd been craving it for a week so I took a chance. Im sorry, but under fried grocery store frozen crinkle fires are not equivalent to tater tots. The fish, as always is very well prepared and delicious, but the tots are such a great way for them to distinguish themselves from other fish & chips restaurants. This was a big disappointment. I ordered the combo with 2oc cod with clam strips and tots, a separate order of clam strips and an order of clam chowder. This came to $36 and after delivery chg and tip (seamless) the total w$44. The food tasted pretty good but the portions of the fish and clams were small, especially in comparison to the amount of tater tots! A ton of tots! Very little coleslaw was served (which was fine bc it wasn't very good) and I was just so disappointed with the portions. Seems like $15 ea, the portions would have been much larger... I just got this via uber eats and not only was everything we go sooooo freaking good (even after waiting for it to be delivered which always makes your food soggy but this didn't) but also the presentation was awesome! It showed up looking exactly if not better than the pictures they had. Me and my boyfriend both were shocked with how great everything tasted and was presented we would give it a 12/10 if we could! Always perfect, with wonderful family-owned business. They are closed on Wednesdays, and don't open until 5 on weekdays. Unfortunately tater tots are no longer available, but the fries are tasty. The prawns are always perfect, and the cocktail sauce is just right with a nice helping of horseradish. They have added rockfish to their menu, and it's a nice lower-cost option. I always ask for small portions of fries because there is too much, and I usually can't finish my fish because of the quantity. This is my 2nd time here. And I have to say, this is the BEST clam chowder I've ever had! No more "Let's go to the coast for chowder!" My sister has been coming here for a while now and told me about their shrimp- which is also to die for! The shrimp comes out perfectly crispy and not drenched in oil. J&W fish and chips has been there for me in my darkest moments when no one else has. This is genuinely the only place in Portland you can get GOOD fish and chips instead of whatever they're serving at Burgerville. Deep fried and never not crispy, even after delivered. Everything on the menu is a hit and well worth the price. They're on delivery apps so I always include a tip for the cook because whoever they are they deserve to have their pu$$y eaten. Wow just absolutely amazing. Me and my fiance saw an ad on Instagram for this food cart not long ago and decided to spend this beautiful evening there. The advertisement looked just delectable, was NOT disappointed. The best fish and chips spot in Portland. The batter was perfectly crispy and thin. I dont leave reviews often but I could not resist. Saw this place on good day Oregon morning show and I told my wife- we are going there for lunch! The fish sandwich that my wife and I had was every bit as scrumptious as it looked on the television! Just seeing it on tv made my mouth water for it and when we went there and tried the real thing it definitely did not disappoint! The only improvement they could make is that the French fries were very average, if they had better fries I would definitely have given it 5 stars, but I'm stingy with my stars.
