Pretty good place! It's not the best of the best but it certainly got the job done. I wanted a quick breakfast before church so I'm glad I was able to sit at the bar and get quick service. I had scrambled eggs with turkey sausage and breakfast potatoes. The turkey sausage was grilled and it was nice and moist! It wasn't rubbery like most places. Ok so I did not actually eat because I was so unimpressed with the menu. I got my orange juice and pondered over the menu for a few minutes and quickly figured out this wasn't for me. I personally like to indulge in sides for breakfast such as grits, hash browns, sausage, and bacon. But there wasn't even a section with the sides listed on this menu. I also did not like that the items listed in the griddle and healthy starts didn't even come with a side. So I'm expected to pay 8.29 for pancakes and it doesn't even come with one side?? Seems a little like a rip off to me. And the orange juice was gross! It tasted stale or something. I mean they had a lot of egg dishes so if you're into eggs maybe this is for you. read more

This is definitely our go-to spot when we're craving a hearty breakfast. We really come here for their skillets. The food here is consistent and we've never had a bad experience with each visit. Like every other J. Christopher's the interior is brightly decorated and well maintained. The staff at this location is particularly friendly and courteous. My favorite skillet is the Turkey and Avocado. I'm a huge fan of pico de gallo and this skillet has plenty of it. It has huge chunks of sliced turkey and the potatoes are cooked perfectly. The potatoes are cooked crisp and not greasy at all. The boyfriend always orders the Sausage and Gravy skillet and he's always pleased with his order. We both order the skillets with eggs over easy and you can pay an extra dollar for a pancake if you're not craving the standard biscuit that comes with the order. This restaurant is located in a shopping center next to the Micro Center on Powers Ferry Rd. On weekends they are pretty busy but the wait is no longer than 10 minutes so be sure to stop by if you're in the area! read more

This is a great spot for breakfast or brunch. The portion sizes are good and you can cobble together a healthy option or ten from the menu. There's also plenty of room to go straight to heart attack town if you're in the mood for something decadent. The options are mostly spins on eggs, pancakes, and sandwiches. The two salad options are fine and the day I went there was only one soup (black bean) and no Soup de Jour. I think the food here is a four. There's not a lot to rave about but things are well executed at a reasonable price. I ordered a bowl of oatmeal and they gave me all the sugar, fruit, and other items on the side. I've had what essentially amounts to candied oatmeal at other establishments and this is a huge plus in my book. I like to taste the oatmeal in my oatmeal. Shocking I know. My girlfriend got a skillet with a granola pancake, all of which was tasty. For whatever reason my oatmeal came with toast. I guess I didn't have enough carbs in my oatmeal. They don't let you swap this for anything so we took a bite to try it. It was really good, so maybe something to look forward to when I return. To balance my meal I got a nice side salad for $3. The coffee is really good. Much better than a lot of "coffee shops" in the area that serve absolute garbage coffee for more money. The service is the real winner. We were served quickly and they did some above the normal things for us so they're getting a bump. My girlfriend had to take a call right as her meal came and they kept her plate warm until she was able to return. This was really unexpected since most places of this size and rush seem more interested in seeing you leave than sticking around to enjoy your food. read more

I went to this spot on a weekend visit to Marietta and I had the sausage and gravy skillet which was sooooo good and the blueberry crunch cake which was the perfect amount of sweetness. This location is definitely not one I recommend. I ordered the veggie omelet with Swiss cheese, potatoes and an English muffin, while the Mister ordered steak (well done) with potatoes. My order returned with the following issues: 1. Muffin had slightly darker edges around the ring. It was too cold to spread butter, so I didn't, but it also tasted burnt. No Bueno! 2. The omelet was undercooked in some spots and some of the veggies were not as soft as I would like also it was not piping hot either. 3. The potatoes were so crunchy I thought I was eating a granola bar, but when hungry you eat whatever you have in front of you. Besides, I usually NEVER send food back to the kitchen once ordered...NEVER! His order had a few bumps as well. 1. His well done steak was pink inside. Everyone has his preference when it comes to the way he wants his steak presented, so when a customer asks for a well done steak, instead of cooking it based on how you would eat it or how you believe philosophically meat should or should not be cooked, do yourself and your customers a favor and, burn that sucker, if necessary! (Total sarcasm) 2. His potatoes were a little crisper than desired, but not as bad as mine. Overall, I am turned off with this J. Christopher location, but since I had such a wonderful time at the downtown location and it left such an impression on me, I hate to write this one off altogether, but it will be a long while before I return to the Marietta location, if ever. The place was setup just the way I remembered it with the staff being attentive and friendly. Since I was heading into work, I went over to the bar to place my to go order. There's a lot to choose from: Omelettes, scrambles and pancakes. I didn't want to get full and start falling asleep at work so I ordered the American Breakfast which consisted of two eggs, potatoes or grits and an English muffin. I customized it by adding spinach and cheese and chose the potatoes. The food arrived in about 7-10 minutes which I was not expecting to I decided to eat my food there. The eggs were a little salty and potatoes were ok; a good amount of them were hard so I couldn't actually eat all of them like I wanted. The food was edible but my excitement for coming back quickly depleted. I didn't get sick and the service was great so it's worth coming back but I'll definitely be trying something else. read more

They should do better than this. I mean, look at the pictures posted on the site. They look delicious. But why do they taste worse than IHOP and charge twice as much? I ate at a J. Christopher's about five years ago and remembered not liking it. Finally, after five years, I decided to give it another chance. Boy, I made a big mistake. First, the good points: They had great service. We had about 30 people in the room, and they did an efficient job serving us. They also had good, friendly attitude even when dealing with a large group of people. Now to talk about their overrated food: I ordered the Just Bubba. It consisted of fresh-baked buttermilk biscuit smothered in sausage gravy served with Cheddar scrambled eggs and oven-roasted potatoes. Man, doesn't that sound good? Well, when you taste it, it disappoints. The sausage gravy tasted very salty. The saltiness completely overpowered everything on the plate. I think they did that because everything on the plate tasted super bland. I felt like I ate bland biscuits, overcooked potatoes, badly made eggs, and salt. The buttermilk biscuits seemed like it didn't have any butter. It tasted stale. The eggs didn't stick out my mind too much because of its ordinariness. On top of that, I felt I overpaid for what I ate. They do charge more than your typical breakfast place, so watch out I think J. Christopher's wants to make their restaurants have a high-class atmosphere since they charge so much, but they fail on that concept. It doesn't feel high class with their low-class food. Their atmosphere feels like Denny's. You just get below average food for its high costs. Just save yourself the trouble (and money) and go to Waffle House, IHOP, Cracker Barrel, The Original Pancake House, Flying Biscuit, or other breakfast-oriented places. They all beat J. Christopher's on value and/or taste. read more
