There is a reason people don't shop in store at the Mission Viejo J.Crew. I've been noticing it for years the customer service workers are rude and righteous; these ladies have worked in the store for probably 20+ years . Not only that I've been visiting that store for 20 years shopping, buying, and yes, some returning. Every time I go in there if I have another bag, they follow me around like I'm a thief!!! I've never stolen anything in my life and I know they recognize me when I come in that store. That said, I will NOT shop MV JCrew. You just lost a loyal customer who shopped your store for years. I went to the Mission Viejo store with the intent to buy a nice selection of new clothes for summer. Unfortunately, they were very understaffed and unable to assist. I waited forever in the dressing room for additional pieces and finally got dressed and left. My time is valuable, and to come out of the dressing room to find the person who was supposed to be helping me ringing up other people while I had been waiting for a long time made me angry. This brand started raising their prices so high that you would think the quality would be top notch. I bought these shorts in yellow and in deep orange and both bleeds and damaged all of my clothes. I just dropped by here when I was in the mall, and I'm pleased to note that that all their stuff is looking really good again! I own several shirts from J crew. If there's one thing that they do incredibly well- it's mens dress shirts, and men's suits. As a person with a slimmer build, it's hard for me to find shirts that fit my torso, arms, and then are long enough to cover my stomach. I don't spend a lot of time there, I usually just drop by maybe 6 or 7 times a year to see if anything really catches my eye. The shirts that I've had for several years are still in good condition, and there's always a shirt I want. The prices tend to be a little on the higher side, but you're paying for good quality. The online shopping for J crew, I would consider it to be fantastic, one of the nicest, most straightforward websites out there. So, between the 10 or 11 collared shirts I have from here, I've been satisfied every time. The only thing I would consider changing at the J crew is the orientation of the store. It's a little odd instead of having a system like-men's to the right, women's to the left, it works that all the men's stuff is kinda tucked away in the back 1/3 of the store. Also, I'd consider the shoes here about 7/10 quality. They tend to run a little smaller than other shoes, and don't hold together as another pair of shoes for $100 would be. I love my J crew cream Suede chucks, but they've certainly seen better days than when I first got them. Overall, I love the clothes here for men, especially for slimmer guys! read more

I was second person In line to check out, with $60 plus in non-sale belts. Additional sales person comes to ready register to check me out. The woman checking out first customer asks the sales woman about to help me to go look for more small boys shorts on sale for the customer she is presently checking out. So my sales person leaves register to go look for boys shorts for first sales person. No acknowledgement that I'm ready to pay. No face contact. Two sales resources for one customer, while another is waiting to pay? Seems like a waste of resources to me. I left the belts and walked out. Would have complained to them, if they'd acknowledged I existed. J Crew, I guess that's why you have to sell your clothes at Nordstrom's now. Certainly better service at Nordstrom's! read more

Not the largest selection men's clothing, but I had a fantastic experience there regardless. I had been shopping online, but the blazer that I wanted was sold out. I went to the store, and asked if they could help me locate the blazer either in their store or in another store. An employee named Esther? was incredibly helpful. She went to look in the back for new inventory to see if they had it, but they did not. Furthermore, their systems were down, and had not been updated since Wednesday but she would still try and help me locate the blazer. She called 6 stores! (many stores were shipping the blazer out to another store because they don't keep items that are on sale) before locating the size that I needed (she helped me out with the sizing out as well) over at least half an hour. I had such a great experience there today, I had to share. My sister-in-law is getting married September 1st. She decided to have us bridesmaids choose our dresses from J.Crew. The stores don't carry any of the bridal line, but I wanted to go in and try on something similar to get an idea of fit before I ordered. Before I went in, I chose the dress I liked best online and put it in my shopping cart, but it said it was backordered and wouldnt' be sent until the end of July - meaning, I would only have a month between getting it and being in the wedding to order a different one if it wasn't right. That's cutting it too close for my taste, but I didn't think I had another option. So I went into the store today, and was helped by a guy named Dylan who was really friendly and professional. He picked out lots of different styles of dresses after I described the dress I was ordering, and gave me advice about sizing and fit. After I knew what size I needed, he was going to help me order it online while I was there. His manager came over to the computer, asked me the details of the style, color, and size, and was able to locate the dress at a J. Crew store in San Diego. Someone had returned it to the store so they actually had it - I wouldn't have to wait until July! He did the whole order for me on the computer, and had it 3-day expressed shipped to my home free of charge. They were so nice and helpful, and I went home with a huge smile and a sense of relief. Been rockin the J brand since my brother could afford it and reluctantly let me borrow it in high school. While some of their prices aren't really justified by their craftsmanship, they do a pretty good job with selling their image. And though not a whole of their collection is to my liking, or even sizing, the things I do pick up I end up keeping the closet for years and years. I gotta say that the collaboration pieces they've been doing with everyone under the sun has definitely had me coming back for more than I can afford in this economy. While not as large in comparison to it's South Coast Plaza counterpart, they actually did have a few things in stock SCP didn't. That was a surprise. I haven't been in a J Crew in a while. The styles always seemed a little too preppy - I'm not preppy. The hubs wanted to look for Nike shoes, not my first choice for shoes, but ok, I'll take a peek see. I saw quite a few things that I liked. What I didn't like was the price tag. I don't want to spend that much on button-up shirts so I threw myself into the sale racks. They do have a nice selection of reasonably priced sale merchandise but I wasn't in a mood to sift through all the pieces. While they may have some eye-catching pieces, I think I'll stick to Nordstrom during their sales. read more

This store is stupid with their store hours policy. They finally reopen and then decide to implement employee break time during store hours which means they have to kick out customers at 3;00. Why bother reopening if you are going to shut your doors throughout the day. This is disruptive and makes it undesirable to shop there. No other stores are doing this. J Crew's one of my favorite stores. Ever since Jenna Lyon took on the role as Creative Director, J Crew has been buzzin'. J Crew's not cheap, but trust me, their sales are SALES. I actually never buy anything for full price here bc I know within a matter of weeks, it'll go down. My mom has taught me well. :) Anyway, I wanted to share a great experience I had at the Mission Viejo J Crew store last year. There was this necklace I had been eying for a long time. I waited and waited and waited for it to go down in price, but it never did. Luckily, I had a gift certificate so I just decided to give in and purchase it. Within a week or two, I noticed on J Crew's online store that the necklace was about $20 cheaper! And from what I was told from one J Crew employee, the store does not honor online prices. So, because I wanted to save an extra $20, I took the necklace to the MV J Crew location for a return. I told one of the employees who was helping me of what I wanted to do (return and then repurchase it online), and that's when Amy Burcaw appeared. I didn't know at the time that she was the store manager, but she was extremely helpful. She told me that she would do a price adjustment, giving me the online price. When I told her that I've been told several times that J Crew stores don't do this, she let me in on a little secret. Essentially, it's up to each J Crew store on how they go about implementing this "rule." She said most stores won't do it (out of laziness), but for her store, she will gladly give the customer the lowest price, bc after all, her store gets the profit. I LOVE THAT! She spared me another (online) trip and extra days of waiting to get the necklace. I was so pleased and happy with my experience that I actually called the store after I left, asked for name of the lady with the starfish necklace (that's all I remembered of Amy at the time), and emailed J Crew Corporate when I got home, telling them of my pleasant experience. Weeee. I'm a happy customer. 4 stars bc this location does not sell J Crew shoes anymore. Boo. read more

The shipping and packing is great too. The last order I placed was with Frank, and the time before that was with another girl that did such a great job with my order. I live very close to this mall so I come in here a lot. I was really embarrassed by one of their employees at this j crew location when she told me it was "awkward" that I was holding a big bag from their neighbor store (Microsoft). I Thought to myself "its akward that I purchased a high value item at Microsoft and I don't feel comfortable leaving it at the front"??
