Greeted us with such kindness. Helped with our return and being this was my daughter's third attempt with re-piercing one of her ears , Rima gave us the VIP treatment !! I took my daughter in October to get her ears pierced. They never healed even following Claire's instructions to a t. They pierced my daughters right ear way too low. Both ears would not heal and even with movement and cleaning The backings would get stuck inside the piercing hole. My daughter never tugged on her ears or played with them. Flash forward to last night when we went to take her right earring out to clean and her earlobe tore in half as pictured. Learn this tough lesson from me and go to a tattoo place for piercings where they use a needle and have more training not a piercing gun. This is totally Claire's fault and lack of properly training their staff. I don't generally write negative reviews but this needs to be put out there because even using their cleaning solution her ear is infected and obviously damaged. My daughter is only 7 years old. Please please be warned for your child's sake. Claire's should do something to make this up to her! With a regular piercing and if staff was properly trained this would've never happened. In Jan I went to the store and asked the gal about better beginner backings they were not as big as beginner should be and did no good and I told her what was happening and that her piercings were swallowing the backings all except the ones from the initial piercing. It was the same gal whom pierced her ears. To say I'm fuming is an understatement! Here I thought I was doing something nice for my daughter and now she has a mess Claire's owner of this franchise if you are reading this please contact me and try to make this right! I was super nervous and I have a really low pain tolerance but Lesley was super patient and walked me through the entire process and reassured me that she's pierced plenty of ears before since she's worked there for 3 years. It was quick and simple and practically painless. The aftercare is super simple and she explained to me the best way possible to clean my ears to avoid infection. I shopped here recently in search for a few items to add to our birthday gift for a little girl. After a quick peruse around the store I decided that their new floral headbands and hair ties would go perfectly with the sweet Mimi and Maggie dress I had purchased with crocheted floral accent details. The salesgirl approached me as soon as I entered the store and was glancing at their seasonal Halloween items. She mentioned that they currently had a special going on with their jewelry. When do they not? I thought that it was an ongoing thing. Anyway, I wasn't here to make any jewelry purchases. The little girl whom I was shopping for doesn't have her ears pierced, nor does my daughter. I did another browse around the store anyway and didn't find anything of interest other than their overpriced sparkly cheer bows on the back wall for my daughter and a sweet flower hair pin near the register, so I went to the register to make my purchases. The manager seemed more interested in telling her coworker about some upcoming training they'd be having than helping the customers in her line. All in all this store has cute things for little girls, but some of the items are a little pricey for it's cheap quality. My 7 year old daughter had her ears pierced at Claire's about a month ago. Yesterday we were going to change out her studs. I pulled off the back and guess what I found? Another earring back embedded in her ear. When I called the store to let them know what happened, Allie, the manager, argued with me , then took over the conversation altogether until I simply hung up since she clearly was uninterested in making a long time customer happy. I called corporate, and spoke wirh someone who was apologetic, but seriously my daughter is going to have to have that year pierced again once it heals and I received no offer to do it for free or a discount or anything. I'm pretty unhappy. My daughter has a bloody ear, I'm out the $20 copay, and I'm going to have to take her somewhere else to get it redone. read more

I was in need of a lot of fashion jewelry for a photo shoot and chose Claire's on a whim, and boy did Claire's come through. This spot had everything. Glistening rhinestone necklaces and long strands of pearls, bracelets of every kind, I just started grabbing things. I got at least ten different items, some were sets, and I still came in under a hundred bucks. SCORRRRE. Bonus, the lady that was working was really friendly and we got to talking and I will buy all my fun pieces here because she was a joy! She helped me with a few things and just really made it more of an enjoyable time. Good quality, check your in the store because kids though, it was well organized, and again, they have everything. Typical tiny, overcrowded Claire's. Could spend hours looking at all the items... I have no idea how they do inventory or prevent shoplifting but I do know it makes me feel claustrophobic! This Claire's is located downstairs, in the middle of the mall, under the food court, about 30yrds down from MAC and just to the left of Old Navy. When I was a wee lassy of 8 years, I would spend hours oohing and ahhing over the shinnies here and now I am just seriously overwhelmed by the clutter and silliness of the items for sale. But, I wasn't here for me. I went to accompany/paparazzi the first piercing (ears) of my babiest little niece and can say it was a nostalgic moment to see the little girls giggling over this or that. Ah, to be young. Glad they do infant piercing. Glad the girl was gentle... (would have killed her otherwise) Glad they still have a sweet little girl following... On 2/23/13, I took my daughter into your store to get her ear's pierced. She's 5. I had told her that it was going to hurt and she was going to have to take good care of her ears. She said she understood and off we went. For 5 pm on a Saturday, the store was very crowded. We waited for about 20 minutes before it was our turn. During this time, the woman who was piercing ears went into the back and was replaced by another woman. She was rude, sullen, and dismissive. She didn't try to engage us in any conversation or put my daughter's mind at ease. She marked my daughter's ears and got mad when I said they were uneven. She went to mark them again and dropped the pen on the ground. She then picked it up AND WAS GOING TO USE A NOW UNSANITARY PEN ON MY DAUGHTER'S EARS RIGHT BEFORE SHE PIERCED THEM. I waved over the other lady and told her that Elizabeth needed help and that I wanted my daughter's ears double pierced (so she would only be hurt once). The other woman got a new, sanitized pen, marked my daughter's ears evenly, and then got ready to pierce them. The rude clerk's gun got stuck. I realize this is through no fault of the clerk, but rather (hopefully -- at least it better have been) a malfunction of the equipment and not her incompetence. However, I watched in horror as she then RIPPED THE GUN AND EARRING FROM MY FIVE YEAR OLD'S EAR!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter was hysterically sobbing and wailing in pain -- when she had been fine with the piercing. Not only where we subject to the almost unsanitary equipment, the pain that she caused my daughter, and her dismissive, rude behavior, but she didn't apologize for hurting my daughter or for the gun getting stuck. Nothing. She simply walked away, telling me that would be $58.86. DO NOT go here to get anyone's ear's pierced. Go to Piercing Pagoda. Or a tattoo parlor. read more

The Mission Viejo Mall location was great. I did post a negative review for another location as the store had one employee and was packed with only one employee who was overwhelmed. Other customers, including us, ending up walking out without purchasing after spending time in line. The reason we went to Claire's is to have my grand daughter's ear's pierced. The employee at the Mission Viejo location explained the process to my grand daughter. She made sure the location for the piercings were even and where she wanted them. I want to write a review for Sydney, the amazingly sweet gal at Claire's who pierced my daughter's ears. Despite saying she wanted them done, my kid resisted in every way because she was scared and Sydney was incredibly patient and kind. I mean she talked my girl through nearly 30 minutes of mental freak out and once the ears were pierced, my daughter was grateful, happy, and reminded me every day to write this review. There was no pain and my almost 10 year old can't wait to get back to school to show her friends. We deal with this type of stress for every flu shot, every difficult step in growing up and Sydney was more encouraging and calm then most nurses. I can imagine that for most kids, she makes a nerve-wracking situation easier. To me, that's heroic. Thanks, Sydney! read more

Extremely unprofessional staff. First time I went there they had me wait while they trained a new employee instead of assisting me first. Not to mention, all the girls work in slow motion like they're exhausted. On my second trip there I tried to return something and they asked me to step aside so they can help another guest because apparently I was taking too long. I have been preparing my three year old for earrings and I could tell she was ready, because she kept asking for her "earrings". So we made a big deal out of it and took her down to Claire's. Even grandma came with. The overall experience was ok. My daughter seemed to be calm and at ease. I was prepared for her to change her mind once in the chair, which would have been totally fine. Instead the dots where made, had to change a couple times and then they looked perfect. I suggested to have two associates handle the piercing at once. So someone else came over and they counted to three. That's when it went downhill. One missed the dot and the other didn't fire the gun. I couldn't believe it. She didn't miss it by much but the fact that she did really made me panic since this is a three year old. She said she could redo it and that just sounded terrible. Overall they look fine and my daughter handled it like a champ. But when I watched the iPhone video of her experience I hear "I missed the dot and oh no I didn't go" so not a video we will be sharing to show how well she did unfortunately. Once at the register it was about $70 for the earnings and rapid solution. Her ears are fine but for the lack of experience from associates I'm kicking myself we didn't go somewhere else. read more

Whenever i'm at the mall with my kids we like to take a trip into claires, mostly because my daughter loves the bows. It's a small store, but clean and caring employees. A few weeks ago when we stopped by my daughter decided to finally get her ears pierced. The girl, i can't remember her name (maybe started with a c or k) but she was young and had sort of blonde/brown hair was very nice and helpful with us, she seemed young (which i was worried about), but she did a great job and seemed to know what she was doing. She let me see every time she made the dot on my daughters ear and made sure i thought it was perfect. She did it nice and fast! Definitely will be coming back soon read more

Went into Claires to get my 2 year old daughters ears pierced and the experience was great. We were welcomed from the start and the staff were very helpful and attentive. They went over the ear piercing procedure with myself and I felt confident in their ability to do a great job in which they did. My 2 year old didnt shed a single tear because the staff were delicate and amazing. I would recommend anybody that's thinking of getting the babies ear pierced to come to Claires. Back In July I took my daughter with autism their to get her ears pierced. We talked about this for weeks with her and she was so excited to do it. So when we got their and sat in the chair she was good until they brought out the piecing gun. She kept going back and forth about doing this or not. The girl brought in another girl so we could try to do both ears at the same time. My daughter kept going back and forth from being scared to being brave and the second they tried to come close to her ears she would get scared all over. This went on for 2 hours. The girls were nothing but patient and gentle and understanding. They reassured her when she repeated the same questions 50+ times. We had multiple crowds of people stop and watch and reassure her and move on and then the girls desensitized her slowly by getting closer and closer and praising her and reassuring her, until she was comfortable enough to quickly get the earrings in. I wish I knew these girls names. But they were amazing. All this while still running the store. read more

I had a really uncomfortable experience here around 2 pm. I wasnt greeted or acknowledged when walking in. The store wasnt busy, and yet i felt invisible to the associates. I asked if they could show me some of the more dressy options, as I have my Christmas party this weekend. The associate rolled her eyes and pointed in the direction without even looking up or making eye contact. I grabbed a necklace and set of earrings and walked up to the register. The same girl who ignored me told me to hold on a second as she finished up a text message. Another associate came up behind her and asked a question about the earring peircer getting stuck in the middle of a piercing and having to repierce a woman's ears. The associate said under her voice "how bad are they [expletive]ed up?" I was so offended by the vulgar language and cavelier attitude. I naturally assume they would talk about me when I left. I looked online and found that there is a 1800-Claires number that can be called in these types of situations. I think this Claire's is poorly run and unsafe. I would never get my ears pierced here, much less twice. I won't be returning here and I will be sharing this experience with my friends and family as well. read more

I am not normally one to complain about a store, but I really want to get the word out for people to please beware of taking their daughter to Claire's to get their ears pierced. I took my daughter there on her 10th birthday. She was super nervous and the ladies seemed annoyed and not very sympathetic. She got both ears pierced at the same time, however one of the earrings was WAY too low and we had to take it out and let the hole close up. I was disappointed but figure mistakes happen. We let the hole close up and came back to re-pierce that ear 3 weeks later. I had the earring with me and all she needed to do was put the exact same earring in...but she pierced it with the WRONG earring! So now my daughter has two mis matched earrings! And she had the nerve to charge me for it. I did not pay for the new earring because I was furious. I want to make sure people know to beware when they take their daughters to Claires to get their ears pierced. If I had to do it again I would go somewhere else. read more
