11/22/25 My overall experience at the J. Crew store in Columbus Circle was positive. The location is convenient, right within the Shops at Columbus Circle, making it easy to pop in while exploring the area. The store itself is well-maintained and cleanly laid out. Great value for your money. The clothing selection was comprehensive, and I found several quality pieces that were exactly what I was looking for. Also looking for a scarf, there was a colorful selection of winter scarves that were perfect for me. This location had great Black Friday deals going on. What keeps it from being a full five stars was the level of attention from the staff. While polite when engaged, they seemed a bit preoccupied, and I had to actively seek someone out to ask about different sizes and to complete my purchase. It wasn't a major issue, but slightly more proactive customer service would have enhanced the experience. Overall, it's a solid, reliable spot for classic style in a great location. read more

I don't recommend shopping at this location. The customer service on a Friday night was terrible. I went in to try on a green trench coat. This salesclerk went on about how the color is in season and I asked if they have a medium size since I always shop online. Moreover, I have been noticing my clothes are baggy now. I was pushed to buy it even it wasn't on sale. I informed her multiple times, I am looking to see if it fits correctly. I was trying to be friendly and start a conversation. I informed her that my aunt works for their competitor and this salesclerk told me "wow! it is very expensive to shop there." After I said "Thank you for your assistance", she proceeded to persuade me to pay full price for that item. I went to the location on Spring Street the next afternoon and Marilyn helped me in the dressing room. She went to get the sizes I asked for. When I told her about what happened at Columbus Circle, she was horrified and she apologized on behalf of JCREW. Definitely...go to Soho to shop. read more

I had read in the papers over the weekend that J Crew had a cotton sweater for $90 and so I went to this location (it is the Men's Shop on the second floor next to regular women's J Crew) and I was greeted by a salesperson (I forgot his name) and I was shown the cotton sweaters in various colors. I had done some research before I knew that some colors were on sale so I had asked the person which colors (black, navy, forest green, and ivory(white) ) . I also was in to get some tech enabled gloves that I had seen at another J Crew location but I didn't have time to get them. I also had a gift card that I hadn't used in a really long time so I used the gift card and had to pay $7 because the gift card was for $200 and there was excess to pay. Also the salesperson named Paola was very friendly and nice and helped me find my size and a fitting room. 10/10 read more

Every store that I go to in the Shops at Columbus Circle has the review and my beautiful photos missing. I never miss the opportunity to visit this store when I spend the day at this Mall. It's a pretty typical J. Crew Store with two floors of the great clothes, shoes and handbags. I've been successful finding items on the discount racks. The customer service is always friendly and efficient. I love the sweaters and Shirts the most. I guess I better get back to Columbus Circle and take more photos of my favorite brand. read more

A month ago I stepped in to the store with my mom. An older Caucasian employee decided to follow us around the store as we browsed. We ignored it, although we were uncomfortable with the clear profiling going on. My mother decided to try on a jacket to see if she liked the style and fit, after trying it on she decided she did not like it. That's when the employee felt it appropriate to suggest we try tj maxx. Mind you, our reason for not liking the jacket was due to the fit, an issue with price was never mentioned. We quickly left after that horrible customer service treatment. Not that there's anything wrong with TJ maxx but the gall to assume because we were POC we couldn't afford an item here was deeply offensive and degusting behavior. Jcrew needs to give employees better training on racial profiling and cultural competency training. It's 2025, seriously hire better people, not all of your customers will be white, POC shop here too. read more

About a month ago, I needed a refresh of suiting separates since I'm not back at my pre-Covid weight yet and I had an important interview. I bought tops, blazers and necklaces at a JCrew and Banana Republic to try out at home and return the ones that I was less fond of. This morning, I returned the excess items to JCrew. A white store clerk with long wavy brown hair felt compelled to profile me and tail me around the store. This is tired and in my younger days, I would have confronted her. I no longer let ignorant shop clerks like this woman ruin my day. It's painfully clear that your staff needs cultural competency training. The stupid behavior that I was subjected reflects so poorly on your brand. Get with the program JCrew and start hiring better people. read more

I came here on a Friday morning at about 11am. I was looking for The Perfect Tee in black in my size. Unfortunately, they didn't have my size, but a nice employee offered the long sleeve version to me to try on. They hadn't even put it on the shelves yet, because it was planned to be put out next week with Fall/Winter styles. He got one from the back for me to try, and said I could order the short sleeve version from the register and they would have it delivered for free. Great customer service here, and a relaxing shopping experience! Also, if you shop on their website, they have free pickup from a local store. So no shipping fee if you pick up your order. I am a CA resident, and recently went thru a phone order with this store. Below is my feedback: 1. Sales associate didn't check merchandise quality prior shipping to customer. Will you be happy when you received " mold like"( green stain dots all over the pink flat shoes) and " worn like"( I am not blind, and I can tell which is a brand new shoe? ( I am not sure if I can upload pix here) 2. Do not make false promise. I originally planned to order this particular shoe via online, but there is no size 7.5 available. I was told by online J crew specialist that your store has the availability, so I called right away and they charged my credit card on 1/8. I was informed that i will be receiving the tracking number via email. I was waiting for the update for the whole week, but there is nothing. Finally I got the tracking number info after I called your store and spoke to three different person on last Saturday. Guess what? It showed that there was no shipping activity after the label was created. 3. Bad phone shopping experience ever! I had no problems at all according to my past phone shopping experience with Tory Burch, Salvatore Ferragamo, etc. No matter I ordered from retail store or outlets, their sales associate sent me BRAND NEW & UNWORN condition item ASAP with free shipping. I tried to pick up a package at the Rockefeller Center location. They couldn't find it. Isn't that retailing 101? As in, when you email the customer to tell them their order is in, the order should be there? Then they offered a gift card for keeping me waiting. They couldn't do that either! Then why offer?? Talk about incompetence! And they don't care if they waste your time ... shop somewhere else! read more

A lot better. I bought a pea coat for several hundred dollars, and the buttons fell off in the first six months. The material then started to pill everywhere. Again, this was easily under a year of wearing it. Now, the button that I paid a tailor to sew back on fell off once more. I'm expecting others to follow since the quality of this coat is so low. Avoid J. Crew. Other items I bought washed out and lost their color way too soon. I can't say anything positive except the staff is terrific. The women's store moved right next to the men's store. They are officially open! The decor is inviting and the employees are very nice. There is a person directing traffic outside and there is usually a short wait to get in. I don't mind the wait at all for social distancing reasons. read more

I've found J.Crew to be pretty hit-or-miss over the last few years, but this location is nice because they have started carrying more Madewell pieces (which I find to be higher quality than some of J.Crew's). J Crew items are solid, and they last, good quality and are classic pieces that survive any fashion trend. The thing is this...I went to this store in search of a pair of Purcell sneakers. The men's staff upstairs were very helpful, they couldn't find the shoe, but put me through to an agent on their "red phone." LOL. I felt like I was calling Moscow or something. Anyhow, I ordered a pair of sneakers 12 days ago, and they still haven't arrived. Apparently someone at J Crew entered my address incorrectly, and UPS can not find my apartment!!??!! J. Crew does not have maternity items, but I shopped here to see what I might be able to fit into during my early pregnancy and when I'm not pregnant (a loose fitting top and the 3-way Sanur dress). While trying on the items, I found that this location is all about honesty. First, the lighting and mirrors do not lie here. No soft lighting to hide the cellulite-in-waiting (I then adjusted the dress to wear long). I'm on my way to being the "fat skinny person". Made mental notes to continue with pre-natal yoga and exercise. Made mental note that I'm going to be an older Mom and need to stay in shape to chase a kid around. I also overheard a gay salesman cooing over his charge with what worked fabulously with her as well as the flip side - which items just weren't flattering. I wished I had more time so i could work with him! Back at the hotel, my husband gets a call and responds with, "Let me check with the wife". He tells me that to surprise me for my birthday, he added us to the waitlist for Per Se and there was a cancellation that evening. "Last chance", he says. I recall my reflection in the J.Crew mirror with the cellulite-in-waiting. I quickly calculate that a dinner at Per Se (which would be other-worldly) would be the same cost, if not more, than 20 Pilates reformer classes. I also realize that my husband was willing to spoil me despite his disdain for splashing money on uber-fancy meals. How sweet, I thought! I usually have great experiences when I drop by this J Crew location, conveniently located around the corner from my office on Broadway. Yesterday, I came in to return an umbrella that I had used but twice (the spokes ripped through a part of the umbrella when I was out in the rain). When I asked the sales associate if there was anything I could do, he was responded with "I wish there was more that I could do, but because it's used, you can't return it or get store credit". I asked politely once more time, but the response was the same. I expect better from J Crew and this location in particular, as I spend quite a bit of money here per year. I'll be coming back, but I sure as hell won't be buying any J Crew accessories. Giving this location 3 stars because usually my experiences fall within the 4-5 star range. read more

The Columbus Circle JCrew location has unhelpful staff / manager who makes it very difficult for customers to return items even if Jcrew is at fault. I ordered some items online and one of the items shipped to me was incorrect. The cashier talked to the 'manager' and then told me they can't process the return and asked me to call JCrew's online store who will help me but I would have to ship the item back to process my return. How efficient is that? I took the number she gave me, threw it in the garbage and made my way to a different Jcrew location that had better management and customer service and processed my return. I'm not sure why the Columbus Circle location didn't take the online return when Jcrew made the mistake. Maybe the manager is ignorant or maybe the store isn't doing well and they don't want to accept returns? I don't know but I won't be spending my money there anymore. read more

Usually this store can be on the expensive side, but the flip side to it is they have quality clothing that lasts! As opposed to some other cliche stores that you buy a sweater for $50 bucks & its loses its color and formation after 2 washes (face it some clothes tend to fall into that kind of GAP).....lol I'm giving this place five stars because staff was attentive, helpful, & courteous & the prices for J.Crew were cheaper practically 80% of their stock was on sale. Crew seems to always be a little disorganized (maybe due to the slightly awkward shape of the store) but the women's sale section upstairs always seems to have great hidden finds and the sales people themselves are usually very helpful. I've noticed that this store and Rockefeller Center tend to carry a wider range of the higher priced items than some of the downtown stores. Call ahead if there's a particular item you want and they are more than happy to set it aside for you. read more

okay, the women's section gets 3 stars for a decently sized but disorganized sale section, the female workers are usually rather rude and well...downright bitchy with me. BUT, the saving grace of the j.crew at columbus circle is its men's section. the people that work there are incredibly helpful, nice, charming, AND full of personality. i think i spent about an hour shooting the shit with them last time while they discussed fashion with my gay best friend and they tracked down a hard to find coat for me to buy my boyfriend. if you're ever looking for an item you've seen on the website or if you've seen it on sale online, you should definitely ask them. they were able to find a coat we were looking for in their stock room and gave it to us for the price online (even though it was still listed at full price in the store), plus a 30% discount, then a 15% student discount - all in all, we saved over $300. xoxo j.crew men. read more

My experience with this store has been AMAZING! Have shopped there several times and staff have always been very friendly. I recently had a great experience with them and that's why I decide to write this review. It all starts with a pink wool coat... I wanted to buy a pink coat for so long and saw one which is on final sale in the store. I couldn't make up my mind since another coat I ordered just arrived at my apartment and I wanted to try it on before making the decision. The staff offered to hold it for me for 2 days, and I was able to call them to purchase the coat that night and have it shipped to my apartment free of charge. When the coat arrived, it was steamed and in a better shape than it was in the store! After wearing the coat for several times, I realized the coat is too long on me and needs to be shortened. I went back to the store and asked whether they provide tailoring. Gladly they do and even have someone help me with the measurements. The tailoring took only 5 days and costs only $25, and the coat came out beautifully! I'm glad that J.Crew is taking their customers seriously unlike some other retailers! read more

This is a great J.Crew. The selection is excellent because they have separate stores for men and women instead of trying to cram both into one location, which also makes for specialized salespeople. The service was great and the sales associate whom I worked with was highly knowledgeable about jeans (the only thing I was shopping for). He explained the differences between each cut and fabric, and was very patient while I tried on half a dozen pairs. They even give you a bottle of Poland Spring water while you try stuff on. I wouldn't tell anyone to go out of his way to come to this location, but if you live in Midtown or above, come here. It's WAY better than the hectic insanity of the Rockefeller Center location. read more

This is one of the 3 locations in NYC that has two separate locations; one for the men and one for the ladies. This specific self-described "men's shop" has a decent selection and is par for a J Crew. I must say that I enjoy this one slightly more than the one located on Madison which caters to the upper class. J Crew, in my opinion, can't go above 3 stars because it's over priced. Granted, I have many, many J crew items, but mostly their shirts and slim-fit button downs. Everything else has no taper and it's similar to wearing a box! JCrew I had accepted the exceedingly rarely excepted condition of myself as a fully confessed internet shopper. The Time Warner JCREW seems to have changed all of that. This staff- utterly gorgeous inside and out, has extracted me from seclusion. It's a particularly bright spot for me as an occasional pit stop on the way to a regular medical appointment. Specifically, quirky glamour style mate Victus Rose has outfitted me on occasion, assisted by enthusiastic (and equally stylish) colleagues Ralph and Taylor. It is right in Columbus Circle in a 'mall' type building - great location and other stores around. The J.crew is two stories, mens lower, womens upper. Sales rack was jammed with clothes you couldn't even pull an item off of the rack. No one helped me, I was surprised since they get commission. The cashier was very nice and carefully wrapped my dress, some of the other J.crew stores don't do that. read more

The downstairs area is for the ladies, the upstairs, the dudes. The setup is typical J. Crew, very yuppy, very prepster. The staff is extremely friendly...almost too friendly, but they do help out nicely. About 75% of my clothes are from J.Crew and most of it is from this location, no wonder my J. Came to this store to return a pair of pants that didn't fit and hopefully find some that did and really appreciated the people who worked at this store. Something like 5 different people helped me between guiding me to where the pants were, picking out some alternative sizes and styles and helping me buy the new pants and return the ones that didn't fit. After challenges with finding the correct size with online ordering, it was a relief to get so much help at the store. I would not have thought the style and cut of the pants I ended up buying would have been the pair that fit. read more

I can only speak for the men's store, but this store is truly fantastic. I needed a pair of pants, so I set up a personal shopping session through J.Crew's website. Darnell assisted me with my selections, and was incredibly helpful and very friendly. (It bears mentioning other salespeople were equally friendly.) Thanks to Darnell's help, I was able to find two perfect pairs of pants, which were tailored for free. After lots of customer service disappointments at other places, it's good to see someplace that actually gets it right. Highly recommended. read more

The fitting room attendant made no effort to assist me with the items I was trying on (only 2) but instead seemed bothered by my asking her to help me. New separated location in the Time Warner Center. It used to be on the 3rd floor upstairs of the women's selection but they parted into 2 stores across on another on the 2nd floor. Unfortunately, the space is a bit smaller but the customer service team remains fairly solid. Six months ago I brought a pair of demin that didn't fit quite right but I was too lazy to bring it back. Finally just off my lazy ass and brought it in without my reciept but they were super friendly and located the reciept from the credit card I purchased it from and made the exchange completely effortless. 1. Placed online order 2. Went to pick up order 3. Associate spent 25 minutes looking for order and asked for my order ID five times 4. Manager spend 20 minutes looking and asked for my order 5 times 5. I swallowed my anger at the waste of time and said that it is fine, life happens and we can just left if be returned through the system 6. Two weeks later, I am sitting at work and get an email that says "Thanks for picking up your order, I hope you enjoy it!" 7. Cue explosion I have ordered to store and changed my mind and had the order returned before; the email is marked returned due to not picking up. It is NOT marked, Thanks for pick up your order. To add insult to injury, when I called the store, it took five hang ups to get a human to talk to me, then the associate placed me on hold for 20 minutes to find a manager. The manager decided that I was really really really concerned about the refund, when it was much more about the nagging feeling that this store should not just disappear people's orders then try to convince them that getting an email that you picked up your order is OUT OF THE ORDINARY. Maybe it's paranoia, or maybe this store has snobby, apathetic employees that might or might not "lose" orders. Either way, even in the best case scenario, you are dealing with people who really don't care. read more

Great place to spend your lunch hour if you are looking to get away from the office. I've experienced mixed customer service - some days good, some days not so good. Like their selection of sweaters -- color and style. This is a last minute location that I usually go to after work. They close @ 9:00PM so whenever I can't find something like a pair of chinos or an emergency white dress shirt from the liquor store I go here. It was a rainy saturday and I was looking for just that. It took about four associates to see me hovering around the shirts to ask if I needed help. I wear a size M so when I didn't see any I only asked if they could check for me. I was told that they were sold out without anyone looking for it. I'm giving it four stars (very generous I know) this time because it is my favorite store and I like their clothes, but I have never been to a store where they did not at least check for the merchandise. I would go to this location and recommend it to all for one reason only and that's because they have late hours. read more
