I came here for a haircut a few weeks ago and really liked it. Just a mid fade from a zero, keeping the top short, but long enough to style it a little. It was the best haircut I've had in years. There was only one guy cutting hair in the shop (I believe the owner), Jae. And he does a true zero fade, using the electric shaver at the end like real barbers do. The shop is quiet with a couple tvs. If you're the type that goes to a barbershop for small talk and to hang out, it won't be for you. Personally, I prefer this style, I'd rather get in and out fast. He gets straight to the point, focuses on the job at hand (which is probably why he cuts hair so well), and starts working - exactly what I like. It's $30, cash only, walk ins only, no appointments. Plenty of free parking in the shopping plaza parking lot for convenience. I went there around 3:45 pm on a Friday and had to wait about 10 min for him to finish up another haircut. But by the time he was done with mine, maybe only 15-20 min, 3 more people had come in and were waiting in line. So I'd call ahead to check and try to go during the middle of a weekday if you're trying to minimize wait times. I'll definitely be back and have already recommended to others. Went here for the first time. It's a husband and wife team that run the shop and the husband is the one who cuts your hair while the wife preps clients and cleans up afterwards. Nice couple but just very quiet. It might be cultural, but it wouldn't hurt for them to strike up a conversation a bit more. Either way not a huge deal. Most importantly, the haircut was good and fast. They don't take cards just zelle and venmo. I would go back. They also have a small TV that you can watch while getting a haircut. They were playing 28 years later which was hilarious when the big naked zombie came out (iykyk). They also had a cute daughter who was there, lol. read more

As most of you know it's pretty hard to find a barber who can cut your hair well and be consistent about it. Recently moved to the area and, after being disappointed by some other folks -- used to go to a shop in Granada Hills but one of the barbers started getting political on me, I took a chance on J Cut Barber. Solid place to get a no frills haircut for a affordable price. I believe it's a wife and husband operation, and they work well and quickly together - helping get folks in and out. Amazing barbershop! I have been coming here for years, after going to Floyd's for a long period of time I decided to try out this shop after reading reviews and I was not disappointed. He is very fast and always does and amazing job. He has mirrors all around and takes pride in his haircuts. It's pretty cheap and I always gets compliments after he cuts my hair. Excellent barber shop in the valley. This place is consistently on point with no frills. You walk-in, wait your turn, sit in the chair, and J works his magic. He's very thorough and quick. I will say that having observed other folks getting haircuts while waiting for my husband's turn, I can say that the customers that seem unclear on how to describe the cut they'd like (whether it's a blade number, or have a visual reference) look rather lost when they show up. This spot is optimal for folks who routinely get their hair cuts, know how to describe what they want (especially if it's their first time), and are not folks that are looking for a full scale beauty salon experience. This spot and J are a diamond in the rough. J is a man of few words, though, so it's nothing personal and just do your part in explaining what you want done to your hair when you sit down with him. I came into this place to get my son who happened to have long hair (down to the middle of his back) a haircut. The lady was extremely rude, when I was trying to explain to her that I wanted to cut HIS hair short. She kept insisting that my son was a girl because she has NEVER seen a boy with long hair. After I told her that he is a boy with long hair she continued to refer to him as HER. How rude and disrespectful can you be to a 3 yr old? I will never come here again! Worst haircut I've gotten in a long time. Wanted to try a new barber and found this place on yelp due to its great reviews. When I went to get my hair cut a woman preped me and then when the other person come over to start, he didn't even ask me what I wanted! I had to stop him from cutting my hair and explain what I wanted. Even when I did explain and showed him what my hair looked like before he didn't really pay attention. It felt like he was just rushing to get my hair done so he could do the next persons and not actually put any care into how it looked. It felt like half a haircut because I barley noticed a difference in my hair when I left, the top is still the same length! I've never been picky about how I like my hair but what kind of barber starts cutting your hair before you tell them what you want. I was hoping to like this place and have it be my new regular spot but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Reading the other reviews I had no idea they had a "self-serve" station because he just walked away when he finished. Only good thing about this place is that it was so cheap I'll probably go to another place in a month and have them fix it. TLDR: Payed half the price and got half a haircut. read more

Best barber shop in the valley. I went to cut hair last 10 years... never failed and never disappointed.

I asked for a "0" on the side with a combover look on the top leaving it long so I could style it. And he said ..."Okay" And this is the outcome (see picture)... he almost totally shaved my head and shaped my hair in a shape of a cone head. WTF. I was very skeptical trying out a new barber since my old barber is too far now especially since there's such a wide selecting just on Reseda but after looking up J Cut online and having a recommendation from a friend I decided to try this place out. I was very satisfied with this place, there were barely any small talk conversations during the haircut and there was a small tv for you to watch as you get your hair cut. There is only one barber when I arrive whom I assume is J, the owner, by the other pictures people have posted, but it just meant that I got more attention on my haircut by him. The waiting room was fantastic with such a big tv to watch and many magazines to pick from as you wait on some comfy couches. I admit I was interested by the vacuum he has attached to the ceiling. You have to come in knowing exactly what kind of haircut you would want such as the clipper size and the overall style or at least just know the basic haircut you would like. This was my first time having to learn what size clipper I would want for my haircut but you can easily talk to J and he'll explain it to you just as long as you talk to him. His first language wasn't english but he speaks it well enough for you to communicate with him, a haircut is all about communication anyway. The only possible way he could ruin your haircut is if you just sit there in silence without saying a word. Overall I will definitely come back for my next haircut. The prices are just right as well, although he recommends me to get there during the week since the weekend gets busy and he's closed on Sunday's.
