This is a good one. I don't usually write reviews but today I have to. I have been coming here intermittently and the service has been really funny every time. Here's today's story: It's Wednesday morning, there's nobody waiting inside, so I thought to myself okay cool this time it will be smooth, yeah, no. I greeted him and he knotted his head acknowledging that I was there. He was with another customer so I sit down and start looking at the magazines thinking it won't be long. After about 15 minutes I look up and NOBODY is here. Lol, none, zero. Did he leave for lunch? Did the guy take him to the back like in Pulp Fiction? Did he leave for vacation in Korea? I don't know. I was gonna leave but I am curious of what is happening, may be he needs some sort of medical help? I started standing up and look around, inside and outside of the place, nobody. 30 minutes later he came back, with a calmest face I have ever seen, high pitched voice, saying that he went to the bank, to get some change. Lol that's it. No apology, no smile, not a single fuck was given. I was mad for 20 minutes because I needed a quick cut but now I can't stop laughing. I've tried barbers and hair salons all over the valley, including some of those fancy 40 dollar salons in woodland hills and porter ranch, but by far, I've never gotten a better haircut in the valley than at J-Cut. The trick to getting the best cut at J-Cut is by being a regular. Know what sort of style you want J to deliver and he will perfectly. The number system makes it easier for him to memorize what sort of cut you want from him. Small numbers mean shorter hair, long numbers vice versa. I wear my hair medium length spiked so I often go for a 6 on the sides and a bit longer on the front and top. If you live in the valley and want a dependable barber to visit every month or so, J is the man. Also, he shows awesome movies while you wait. The price has since increased from 10 dollars to 12 dollars so just be wary, he wont warn you until after the cut, but even at 12 dollars its still way worth it, and of course still tip worthy a few bucks. read more

J is the best barber for a great price! I have been going to him for 8 years and I must say, this guy is quick and does a decent job too. He really cares about customer satisfaction and its not one of those barber shops where u sit in those uncomfortable chairs for 45 min waiting for someone to finish. He has sofas and movies on, even video games for the kids so time really does fly by! Definitely recommend. read more

This is my man in the valley for haircuts. I went there at least 5 times, but then switched jobs, so had to find a new guy closer to home. Really inexpensive and great quality cuts. Sometimes there's a wait, but they've got comfy couches and it's a good vibe in there. Totally recommended read more

Great cuts by a great guy. Cuts are dirt cheap, but they're nearly perfect. Jay even has a vacuum system running to prevent too many clippings from falling all over your clothes. Highly recommended! read more

Greetings everyone and Merry Christmas! For the first time, I visited J Cut Barber Beauty Salon. I found this business, via Yelp. I thank everyone, who wrote reviews. All the positive reviews, had me visit J Cut, a day before Christmas. Close to home, very clean place, professional, friendly and I got exactly what I wanted. One interesting point: The gentleman lets you know side length and top length of hair, post cut, so that you know what to ask for, on your next visit. If your a man in the area this should be your barber. I went to the supercuts a block from my home for years and aside from one barber I never knew what to expect and dreaded going so Id put it off for over a month at a time. Then I come across J cut's reviews here and thought Id try it out and wow was I impressed. I came on a very busy night (friday) so there was a bit of a wait but it was more than worth it. He actually suggested what hair cut to get and from now on thats what Im picking everytime. This guy is very professional and his shop literally feels like a man cave with a nice big tv playing modern movies and a DIY shampoo and gel station all for around $10 what more could you ask. He goes above and beyond by staying open late for walk ins I couldnt believe it. read more

In the past decade, I've only found 2 barbers that can cut my hair the way I like it (I've tried many expensive salon too). This place is one of them. Very tidy hair cut and done pretty quickly. After he knows how you like it, he'll remember it next time. All you got to tell him is the razor numbers. The hair vacuum is genius! Very nice owner too. =) read more

The owner was super busy so when I came in he said come back in 40 mins. I grabbed lunch and was back about 35 mins later. He remembered me and my place in line and was ready exactly when he said he would be. He was very fast and my hair turned out just the way I wanted it, he even taught me some Korean while he worked! read more

Gregory L you're either a dumbass or you've never been to a barber shop before. He probably get's cuts at a beauty salon. This is a barber shop. You come in with the hairstyle you want, with knowledge of clip size. He's the barber, not your stylist. Tell him how you want your hair cut with what size clippers. You tell J you want a 1 on the side and he'll do it, no problem. You wanna fix something, he'll happily do it. Great guy, real nice, and does whatever cut you ask for. Does it nicely too. read more
