I said I needed to drive a few more and would be in touch. I didn't get the 500 calls traditionally made by dealerships after you come by. I hate that. I shopped for a few days and almost bought another car, but this place and car stayed on my mind as I had a new standard of how I wanted to be treated. I brought my family to check it out and we still didn't get hassled as I simply got some possible numbers, shared my budget and talked about the car. We drove it, loved it and said we had to sleep on it. He was totally cool about that. The next morning, I did get a call and we scheduled a time to try and hash out a deal. When we came back, I only had an hour and a half to make it happen. I told them the bottom line of exactly what I had to have for the deal to work. They went away and got me exactly what I wanted. We signed the deal and I was about 3 minutes late for my call. Jesse, Trevor and Dan were awesome. I didn't get some BS negotiation process and was treated like I asked to be treated. Interestingly enough, I bought it last night and it's NOT ON THEIR SITE ANYMORE. I read some other things on here about that past that weren't good, but my terrible experiences happened at other dealerships. See my scathing review of Venice Honda for my bait and switch story. Several days later, I checked their site and the CAR WAS STILL ON IT. Don't tell a webmaster that it's hard to make updates either. Apparently Mazda uses a different internet.

The dealership sold him a used car, gave him $4,000 (40%) for his old car and told him to lie on the Finance application about his yearly income. He was instructed to put $42,000 as a yearly income. Because of his age, the amount of money he borrowed and only $4,000 down on a car he's was given the highest interest rate I've seen on a loans. I'm very disappointed in the unethical predatory practices shown by Cox Mazda in Bradenton. Riley has poor impulse control, makes bad decisions and has not had a job since high school graduation in June 2026. So he is at some fault too. Obviously the sales person at Cox Mazda in Bradenton doesn't have kids and probably the Sales manager, along with the finance officer that wrote up the documents doesn't have kids either. If this was just A "kid " thing I wouldn't be writing this. But it's more on how all future buyers could be treated. He was given the highest interest rate with no income, no credit, 40% of what his trade-in car is worth. The used Mazda Miata car will end up costing more than a new. So if you're a naïve person, new to buying cars or Perhaps an elderly person, please find another dealership that will treat you like a human, your age, a fellow Floridian

I was originally quoted one price for the repair, but later I was told the cost went up because I "needed hoses added," with no clear explanation or proof provided for why those parts were necessary. There was no documentation, no visual inspection shown, and no real breakdown to justify the added work--just a verbal claim that it was required. On top of that, the final charge ended up being more than 3x what the same OEM part is listed for at Ford, which raises serious concerns about how the pricing was marked up and presented. The issues didn't stop there. This happened on a Friday. I was told my car would be ready before 4:00 PM, but around 4:30 PM I only received a last-minute text update. I arrived at approximately 5:09 PM, and the shop was already closed. There was no one available, no way to speak to anyone, and no reliable way to get updates or access my vehicle. Because of the timing and the fact that it was already Friday evening, my car would have been stuck there all weekend until Monday, which directly affected my work schedule. I had to go out of my way to find and contact the owner myself just to avoid being left without my vehicle for multiple days. While I did get my car back, the overall experience felt inconsistent, poorly communicated, and not handled in a transparent or professional way

The truth is, they are awesome, they are busy, but when you are in touch with someone, the service is outstanding. Yes, I did have to wait for back ordered parts and sometimes call back a few times. The end result is what matters. Everything was taken care of and they went above and beyond to make sure the finished product is what I expected. I would never want to be in customer service because for every one great review you get the complainers who just simply don't understand that the world is not a "your way right away" truth. Eric Erkckson was my collision representative. He was the nicest and straightforward guy out there. Thank you Eric for taking the time to make sure I was taken care of and understanding my concerns. I just wanted to leave a review for the team that really don't deserve the negative comments I read.

WOW it's NOT all big bows and sunshine at this dealership. Ryan Overstreet asked me to REMOVE my GOOGLE REVIEW, my 100% honest account of how they sold our trade without the proper NYS Gifting form because it was illegal. My negative review brings their stats down and calls them out on their deceptive sales practices! From what I understand after the past two months of doing my research, Google Reviews are pretty damn important for a car dealership. DID YOU KNOW: Dealerships can request your google reviews to be taken down and you will never know unless you go incognito! Since Ryan knows how to manipulate the Google reviews process, and KNOWS a "Local Guide Review" takes Relevance, he has "local guides" put these "great reviews" out there to override the negatives. How "real" are these local guide reviews, Google? Does the Dealership CREATE these factious profiles just to override negative reviews? Hummmmm? Why does this dealer has a review rating of 4.3 on Google, but less that 3.4 on DealerRater and less than 1.9 on Yelp? THANK YOU YELP for allowing us to tell our story without being manipulated by the dealership to take it down! Negative reviews tell you the true story! Positive reviews just make the dealership look good and now after doing 2 months of research, I have learned can be easily manipulated. DON'T BE FOOLS. Read the NEGATIVE reviews. Clearly these guys (mostly all male dealership-stereotypical car dealership), are experts at the ole "BAIT & SWITCH and in my opinion, Ryan should just teach classes in this because he's the GM ringleader expert! There are only a few women that work at this dealership; one that answers the phone and another who responds to reviews. Why are these positions not given to a man?? I'll let you think about that one for a bit. SITUATION: We traded 2 vehicles in for 2 new vehicles. My first new car purchase (no lease) at 57 years old and I deserved it after raising 4 children and working a high stress job, even holding 3 jobs during my children's early ages while pregnant. They took trades, didn't get the required gifting form for one of the vehicles and the story has been a 2 month NIGHTMARE! I'm a pit bull and will fight to the end so I am in for the long haul and will try my hardest to get Gettel Toyota of Bradenton held accountable for their deceptive business practices. I flew from NY to FL after the trade was restructured and they took a $1,500 payment as a deposit. Gettel knew I was coming but illegally sold the trade to a third party. When I arrived at the dealership, they had me sign the proper cash deposit Gifting Form, then isolated me in the office, had another manager come in, to tell me they sold my trade and they would get me a rental car to drive home. WOW again! THEN ON TOP OF IT, they pulled me into another office with Yarel (who was really nice by the way) and tried to get me to sign my life away and give me pennies. I REFUSED and left back home to NY w/paperwork in hand after crying at the dealership for hours trying to figure out my next move (I was supposed to be driving home at this point). If you value your money & especially your time, GO ELSEWHERE to get your Toyota. If you like playing games (hope you're great cuz these guys are experts), sitting in a dealership for days, then by all means go to Gettel Toyota of Bradenton. I would have loved to leave a great review but the amount of mistakes that STILL keep occurring is unfathomable, after being ghosted and referred to their attorney? After spending $125,000 all in, I need to be honest for you hard working Floridians who are getting ripped off. My sales guy Mick - TOP NOTCH and so was Sebastian! Rey, moved from Sales to Finance; sweet kid made to stay past 12am; Jon threw him to the wolves instead of mentoring the poor kid! Let's be honest because Gettel Management and Dealership as a whole is NOT. Sales guys are supposed to make you feel all warm and fuzzy! How do you think (according to Jon Cruz), this dealership sells over 300 cars per month (or between 10-15 cars per DAY)??? Fast talkers. They will do whatever to sell you a vehicle! Period. WHAT CAN WE DO TO GET YOU INTO THIS CAR TODAY? The operational end at Gettel Toyota of Bradenton is a complete disastrous failure and should be closed immediately for full and proper training in the back end. Period. Who doesn't feel great after getting a new car? Unfortunately, me! It has been 50 days of aggravation but DMV will hold them accountable. BUYER BEWARE and heed my warning. Take your business elsewhere.

I brought my car back multiple times, and each time I was told that nothing was wrong. Meanwhile, I was still driving around sweating while they insisted their diagnostic equipment showed the system was operating correctly.Eventually, the air conditioning failed completely. When I returned, I was then told that the original repair was not the only issue and that I would need to spend an additional $6,000 to fix the problem. Their explanation was that the $4,000 repair should have fixed the air conditioning, but there were other problems they were unable to detect when I first brought the vehicle in.What is most frustrating is that I paid for a new compressor and a major repair, yet the air conditioning never worked properly from the day I picked up the vehicle. Now I am being asked to spend thousands more to correct an issue that was never resolved in the first place. The staff did communicate with me about my vehicle, but the message was always the same: there was supposedly something else wrong. Instead of finding and fixing the problem, I was left with a repair bill, a non-working air conditioner, and a recommendation for even more expensive repairs.Overall, I feel that my concerns were not taken seriously, my issue was never properly resolved, and I left feeling taken advantage of. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop.

One star only because zero is not an option…read more I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2025 Nissan Kicks SV from Firkins on July 17, 2026. I was a returning customer, and my parents have purchased multiple vehicles there. At the dealership, the interior smelled heavily of lemon and cleaning chemicals, and the paperwork indicated no smoking history. Once the fragrance faded, a strong cigarette odor became obvious and eventually came through the A/C. Everything that followed happened within approximately 30 days. I returned to Firkins three times. The first appointment was an ozone treatment. The next two supposedly included ozone treatments and professional details, for a total of three ozone treatments and two details. During the first appointment, I was told to walk around the property and wait about two hours rather than being given a rental. Firkins replaced the cabin filter and left about five air fresheners inside. The fragrance was overwhelming, and the cigarette smell returned within five days. I repeatedly contacted Logan and Jef about the odor and a missing cargo cover. Calls from my regular number went unanswered while a private call was answered, making me feel screened. Logan said all he wanted to do was sell cars, and Logan and Jef called the situation "just car business stuff." I escalated it to John Gross. To his credit, John initially listened and apologized. He resolved the cargo cover, arranged a Nissan fan-motor repair, coordinated more treatments and extended a rental while I traveled. Firkins provided rentals for the second and third appointments. I appreciate those efforts, but they did not resolve the main problem. I was told one treatment cost more than $600 and used three systems. Jef said the vehicle had been scrubbed and the odor should not return unless the interior reached approximately 200 degrees, an unreasonable explanation for a vehicle in Florida. After one treatment, the smell was immediately worse. The vehicle was returned dirty, with tags and plastic inside. Although they knew when I was arriving, it was left in the back. After two supposed professional details, I wiped the seats with water and a white cloth. It came back black with residue. I have not had the vehicle cleaned elsewhere, so its condition reflects only what Firkins allegedly did. The A/C smell has stopped, but the cigarette odor remains. Gino Finelli said he could not smell it despite being sensitive to smoke, yet other people notice it immediately. After the third and final appointment, I found a large tear on the back of the driver's seat. I have timestamped photographs from before and after every appointment. I requested the listing, intake and detailing photos. Gino said he and Jason inspected the vehicle and found no evidence Firkins caused the damage, but Firkins provided nothing that resolved the discrepancy. The seat remains damaged. Firkins offered to buy the Kicks back for only the vehicle price, excluding taxes and fees. That would have left me owing more than $2,000 on a vehicle I no longer owned. John repeatedly pushed a trade-in, which would move that loss into another purchase. Neither proposal made me whole, so I kept the vehicle. Emails eventually stopped receiving responses. Within my first 30 days, I dealt with three unsuccessful odor treatments, two questionable details, smoke through the A/C, a missing cargo cover, a fan-motor repair, seat damage and a buyback proposal that would cost me thousands. I acknowledge the rentals, repair attempts and the issues John initially helped resolve. However, effort is not resolution. The cigarette odor remains, the seat is still torn and I now have to pay for professional smoke remediation myself. This has been the worst customer-service experience I have had with a business my family supported for years. I cannot recommend Firkins. UPDATE: Their response said the General Manager would reach out to discuss my concerns. Six days have passed, and I haven't heard from anyone. This lack of follow-through reinforces my experience and is exactly the poor customer service I was describing.
