serviced my neighbors house and in the processed damaged my yard along with another one of my neighbors yard, they drive around with an uninsured vehicle as we called the police, they ran their truck information and confirmed this commercial vehicle is driving around with no insurance. They have inexperienced drivers and from the looks of other reviews they rip people off too. Stay away from these unprofessional company. Juan does not keep his word on anything. Do not take your vehicle to J.Fuentes Auto Service repair shop 11360 Lockwood Blvd, they will rip you off! I took my vehicle there to have a valve cover gasket replaced on my Ford Taurus. I spoke with the owner and he informed me that they would have to dismantle almost 50% of the engine to do the job. He also informed me that it would be best to replace the timing kit and water pump to prevent future problems. I agreed to doing the timing kit and new water pump, He charged me over $2000 most of which was labor. Two weeks after I got my car back, there's a crack in the valve cover. I took it back there and the owner stated they weren't at fault, and charged me a "reduced" rate to replace it. I believe the mechanic put it on too tight and cracked it. Fast forward to today, 1 year and some months later I need a water pump. After giving them the go ahead to replace the timing kit and water pump, my water pump is leaking. I took it back to J. Fuentes Auto Services and the owner is telling me that the parts and labor are both out of warranty. The same issue he warned me about in order to do the work, I'm having after they did the work. I believe that they charge me for new parts and used the original parts, or either the mechanic did sub par work. read more

I found this place when my driveshaft on my old pickup truck crapped out while I was literally driving by. Had enough momentum to make the tight turn into the shop. Israel took it from there. Every single time I've taken my old truck in, I'm surprised how affordable it is and I'm happy with the honesty of the mechanics. One shop told me my clutch was out -- would be thousands to fix. I took it to Fuentes and discovered I just had a problem with the clutch cylinders. Fuentes keeps my truck on the road without robbing me blind. Great stuff. read more

Have used this place for minor things with no problem. BUT, they replaced my rack and pinion and hose; picked the car up and it was driving crazy.."mr toads wild ride" and felt like I had 2 flat tires. After needing to drive it around town for 5 days, my two front tires were bald!! I returned to Fuentes for help with steering and tires. He found a problem with something related and fixed it. But, he admitted he failed to tell me to get the tires aligned. Refused to help me with tires and didn't believe they go get so bad in one week! Didn't charge for the problem that I didn't have when I brought the car in for the original fix.. But it was there when I drove it off lot. He did have car aligned. Now I'm off to buy 2 tires that I didn't need when I brought my car to Fuentes. My original 384$ just jumped to 700$. Thanks for the opportunity to vent!!! An unhappy former customer. read more

I came to get my headlight assembly replaced. The next day my splash guards under the car were dragging. I brought the car to the shop after 6. They were closed. As I made a u turn the inner fender bumber as well as a piece of the splash guard ripped off. I called immediately and the owner said come the next day. The next day, today, when I show them the damage he said they didn't touch the inner fender bumper or the splash guards. Well how do you remove the bumper on a 2015 Nissan altima? Went in for a simple inspection. Manager said they were on lunch break and to return I. 30 minutes. Returned in 30 minutes and the tech started the inspection. Then he stopped and waited in 2 walk in customers... and then he grabbed another tech and started moving vehicles around.... Basically ignoring what he had started.... Absolute waste of time... I found J Fuentes Auto Service using Yelp and it was one of the best experiences i have ever had with a repair shop. They are not noticeable from Garland Rd. As long as you can find Home Depot, your close. They are located directly behind them. I took my 2000 Suburban in for a/c and and oil leak. I thought my suburban should be put to rest when they told what had to be done, They repaired/replaced a thermostat, water pump, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, timing cover seal, a/c belt, serpentine belt, a/c valve, 2 gal coolant, and 6 gals freon. Total repairs $1100. I have several automotive repair folks that i work with and they all agreed that this was a absolutely great deal for what was done. I even had the opportunity to use a loaner truck. Yes, you to can possibly drive their 2000 Dodge 4x4 diesel truck. It was great to have a vehicle and if you want to be heard and noticed, ask for this baby. Sits high and you can hear it a block away. Update....I was majorly screwed over by J Fuentes. After i had been their customer for over 4 years. The owner may need to be more careful of who he hires. They had to fix my brakes and caliper 4 times, and I recently found out they have been using diesel oil in my Toyota, which is NO T a diesel. Also, I put a 1/3 down on a big repair, and the guy that took my money took off with it, didn't complete the repair, said receipt would be issued once it was completed, and Fuentes did nothing to honor it. They have two other guys that knew about it, but no one would talk. I learned my lesson. J fuentes is a really wonderful asset to our lochwood neighborhood. Besides being good neighbors, they give the fastest, most professional, friendly and informative service at an affordable price. They don't over inflate prices. Tony, the manager , always goes above and beyond , and makes sure I understand completely what is going on. These guys are all cool, and even ask about my child when I came without. I can't say enough good things about Tony and his crew. They are running a top notch place that fits in w our laid back east Dallas culture. read more

Imagine that the nicest guys on the planet got together and started an auto service shop... If you don't get your car serviced at j Fuentes, you're being ripped off. I went in with what I thought would be a major brake repair (driving with the E-brake on) and expecting to pay over $400. I dropped off my car and within two hours they had called letting me know that my breaks were fine but that I might need some parts changed in order to maintain my 21 year old car. There was no pressure to have the work done, but I went ahead and did it. I left with two new parts for under $200! I know absolutely nothing about cars, but Tony showed me the parts that he had taken out of my car and explained to me what the problems with them were and how it would affect my car. After all that, it turned out that my bank deposit hadn't gone through yet and I didn't have enough to cover it, so they told me to go ahead and take my car and just come back in the next few days to pay! He even said that when I come back to pay, he would give me a free a/c leak diagnosis. J Fuentes has yet another happy customer in their pocket. This is one of the only places I trust with my car, the other being Nu Way Car Center in Arlington (hi George!) I stumbled upon this place when I needed new tires a few months ago, and they were great! The manager and everyone I've dealt with are always really nice, and they go out of their way to be helpful and explain what's up. I ended up paying a fraction of what I thought it was going to cost for the tires, and they didn't try to sell me a bunch of frivolous crap. I don't live in the neighborhood anymore, but I still go out of my way to come here for oil changes cuz they're so cool. My favorite thing about this place is their big wooden patio with the cheap coke machine and big comfy 'chairs' that have clearly been pulled out of old cars -- this place has character! read more

The great thing about J Fuentes is this: I actually don't fret about taking my car in, as I know most of the issues it experiences now are due to age (it's a 97 Acura RL) and when it does need work, I have yet to experience a huge shock (ac repair last summer was half what anyone else would have charged).... Trouble began recently when started experiencing a hesitation issue and the dreaded engine light came on; after troubleshooting to the limit of my abilities (which doesn't take long with a car that basically needs a matrix-like cable to diagnose issue). This was on a Saturday, and once I got to the shop, they jumped into high-gear (as they always do, no time to mess around and rip you off) to diagnose issue. $300 later (which would have been easily double that anywhere else) and two hours later, I was on my way (most of $$ was for the expensive ignition coils, cause of issue). The kicker in all of this? They let me borrow one of their personal vehicles to use until I was able to pick up mine; now THAT is a mechanic. And if you want to see someone doing 'double time', just watch Juan, the manager, moving vehicles around property to queue up while calling in parts for other vehicles...money saved, money earned. i first visited this maintenace service back in November of 2010 when i needed a rebuilt transmission... the service was absolutely amazing! They finished the job in less than a week and serviced it a price that was very, very reasonable. My vehicle is running great now. I had to get a new hose for my air condition and in one day my car was blowing out cold air... again, the pricing is fantastic at J Fuentes and i will keep coming back to these guys with my business and any other referrals that i have for them. I have been taking my car to them for over 8 years and they have always done a great job! One time I couldn't afford the price I was quoted, they let me purchase the part and just charged me labor. Israel is the best ,always friendly and very helpful. He has always gone above and beyond in his service . I couldn't say enough good about the man. Would trust him with anything. Last time I took my vehicle in because the brake light came on, I thought it was going to be expensive. He drove the car and told me it was a sensor in the hand brake but that my brakes were fine. I couldn't believe it he could have charged me for a total brake job but didn't charge me a penny. Very honest, which you don't find very often nowadays. Very very wonderful! We could have easily been ripped off. Neither my husband nor I know the first thing about cars. This past winter I thought for sure I needed new brakes. They looked at my car and the issue was much less major and much less expensive. A few weeks ago my husband was having issues with his 98 Tacoma. We took the truck in, they said it was in major need of a tune up... we had never had a tune up done before... again we would have believed anything. They took care of it right away, and gave us back our truck that day even though they knew we couldn't pay in full until that Wednesday. Poor customer service, and forget about service with a smile. I spent one hour waiting for a fax of proof of insurance, and the manager never bothered to tell me the fax machine was broken. I asked if they could take emailed verification, and they just shrugged and stared at me. I gave up and went down garland road to get the car inspected, and they informed me that the state of texas *will* take emailed proof of insurance. It seems this shop doesn't keep up with any sort of inspection info. read more

Best garage ever! I've been taking my car here for 5 years and they are honest, fast , and inexpensive. They don't try to sell you on stuff you don't need. My car got drowned in the last big rain and Fuentes towed it in. I was prepared to have a funeral for my car or pay 600+$. The entire charge was 210. Including towing! Oil changes are fast and always under 30$. read more

From customer service to car service, this place was a complete disappointment. When I discovered how close J.Fuentes is to my house, I wanted SO badly for this to be my 'go to' place for repairs. They were extremely sloppy in a number of ways. I have a BMW and they assured me that they were very familiar with German and Foreign vehicles. They would keep me waiting for days on the status of my car. They told me I needed a new temperature sensor and had a really hard time ordering the part (It took almost 2 days). When it finally did come in, they couldn't figure out how to install it. They kept my car for an entire day before telling me that I'd have to find another place to install it. They offered no suggestions. I picked up my car and drove it for a while before the battery died for no apparent reason. I discovered that hadn't hooked the car's O-ring cable to the positive terminal of the battery. It was just resting against the terminal, transmitting the smallest bit of charge. (see photo) When I when to move the cord, I got shocked. This place was completely unprofessional, inexperienced and sloppy. I would NEVER take my car her. Foreign or domestic. read more

I went here to get my tire patched. I wasn't even greeted when I arrived. The employees just asked what we wanted. One guy took off the tire searched for the hole for a few minutes (looked very confused as he was walking away with it) took it to the back literally worked on it for 5 minutes then put the tire back on. While the tire was putting back on another employee jumped in my car and starting digging through my belongings. I asked him what he was doing and he very rudely asked for my key because he needed the miles on my car for his the receipt. By this time I'm just over this place and wanted to get out of there ASAP. I paid my $12 and left. Within two days my car starting showing that the tire was low again! I ended up taking it to a tire shop near my job where I was promptly greeted and taken care of immediately. These guys took their time to find the hole in my tire and worked on it for a good 20 minutes plus. They were extremely thorough unlike this place. Months later I'm still good. This place is a waste of time and money don't even go here. read more

The people at J Fuentes are friendly, reliable, quick, honest and inexpensive. I've had my truck worked on at this shop for a few years and they have always been great to work with. I just recently took my truck to their shop after the fuel pump started to fail and Tony quoted me a price that was half the cost of other shops that I checked around at. They did the work quickly (less than 1 day) and when I came to pay, the bill was even less than the price that Tony quoted me over the phone. The previous time I took my truck in for some work, I had left my key and door fob with them at the front desk. The clip that held my fob to the key ring had broken months before and I had just gotten used to having it float around separate from my keys. Without my asking they very kindly ordered a rubber holder that held my fob so that it could once again be attached to my key ring, and they didn't charge me anything for that. It was a little thing but it shows the mind set that they have at this shop. I highly recommend you give Tony a call if you need help! read more

Stopped by to get a flat fixed, a five minute job, and was told no at first because they were all eating, and then said to come back in an hour. So we killed an hour and came back and he took our keys and said the guy that fixes flats is at the gas station. We waited 20 minutes before I asked for my keys back and then the other guy magically appeared. I just asked for my keys and said never mind. I'll never be back. There is a new employee/manager there now and she is very unfriendly with a bad attitude and did as little as possible for changing a radiator hoze. 100$ for a simple job? I've been going to Fuentes for the past couple of years and was referred by a friend who has been using them repeatedly to keep her oldie-but-goody car running nicely. They have a comfortable outdoor waiting area with ceiling fans and a soda machine if you get thirsty while you wait. I usually can bring my car by on a moment's notice and they'll get to it that day, often while I wait. I have never (not once) been surprised by my bill and their prices are always reasonable. Tony also will take good care of you, listening carefully to your description of what the car is doing, then checking it out and reporting his findings. I decided to use them after seeing how my friend's car operated after they made repairs -- for such an old car the A/C is amazing (and cost them much less than I would have imagined) and it handles well and is a smooth ride.
