I had my radiator replaced here for an apparent leak (about $2,000). Then a month later i am having another coolant leak. I keep putting in coolant thinking there is no way there is a leak as I just had it repaired. I go back in after having to put in coolant multiple times. Now it is a hose that is leaking & it will be $350. Extremely ironic that I still have the same issue after this repair. Not very friendly either. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

I am rating them 5 stars for honesty and dealing with an "oops" situation, but minus 1 start b/c of the "oops" . I did not actually get my car (07 Lexus IS250) fixed by them as of today, so i cannot speak to the quality of the actual labor/parts. I went here for a diagnostic report / inspection due to an odd noise coming from the back left axle area. LHA performed a FULL diagnostic report ($75) - which I didnt actually know they were going to do and charge for, but I didnt ask the price up front (my bad), so i paid for it and moved on to figure out next steps. Two weeks later i discover a potentially serious "oops" (cabin filter was replaced incorrectly, causing a LOUD racket when i changed my A/C from recirc to fresh air). I was extremely lucky in that I found this error quickly and the motor didnt burn out (a $1k repair at a Lexus dealership). The service advisor (Adam) was very apologetic and agreed with me that this was completely unacceptable and he would speak with the tech who made the error. Furthermore, he reimbursed me the $75 fee for the diagnostic. I applaud Adam for being honest and refunding the $$. read more

I started going to Lake Highlands Automotive a few years ago. I'm in my 60's, need people I can trust with my car, and I appreciate local, family-run businesses. Over a year ago, I said I suspected there was something leaking. It turned out it was oil, and the guys there said they should have caught it when I was in last time, so they fixed it at no charge. I was grateful, and the people there were always kind and patient with me. But I continued to think there was a leak. I noticed black spots on the street in front of my house where I park my car. I brought it in again. There was a cap thingy that wasn't on tight enough and so I was losing oil. Again, no charge, and they topped off the oil. When I brought my car in for service the next time (including an oil change), they said I was low on oil and should bring in my car more often. During the recent storms (early March 2025), my husband was out of town so I could put my car in the garage. The next morning I noticed that the garage floor was loaded with black liquid. I even took a picture and went back to Lake Highlands. They said they would need the car for a couple of days to check it out since this was an ongoing problem. It only took a few hours, and they said the gasket (?) was the wrong size and so oil was leaking. Again, no charge AND NO PAPERWORK. I really like these folks so never complained. But that was it after seeing the mess in the street and in my garage. I spoke with the manage/owner, and that is what firmed my decision to write this review. He was rude, condescending, and told me he was in business to make money and I should be grateful I wasn't charged for all the service. I can't say enough good things about Jerod and his staff at Baker automotive, I took my pickup in because the A/C had stopped working, they quickly analyzed my needs and went to work. I had also had a problem with missing and sluggish acceleration, they found out that I had a broken push rod on one of my cylinders, replaced it and my truck runs like new again. LHA is great! I took a day off work to take our Kia to the dealership for some service, only because there were some small TSB items I wanted to have fixed. Showed up to the Kia appt I booked several weeks out only to find out they didn't have a loaner vehicle as requested. Frustrated, I drove back to Dallas and tried to find anyone who might be able to at least do an oil change, state inspection, and diagnose a rough idle. Not only did LHA respond to my request quickly they actually offered to come pick up my vehicle free of charge. By the end of the day, all services were completed, we were notified right away when our vehicle was done, and the prices were fair. One of the employees backed into my vehicle causing damage to the front end of my vehicle. This repair shop installed several aftermarket brake and suspension parts on my Lexus. My car did not function properly with these parts installed, and several of the parts had to be re-replaced by a different mechanic, hence wasted money. LHA also did several overpriced brake jobs on my Ford Explorer, and they didn't last very long. All in all, not my idea of the best place to have my car worked on. read more

Repair costs are very reasonable and they do excellent work. We had the A/C compressor, dryer and condenser replaced on our company truck and come to find out later that the tech accidentally pinched an O-ring in the dryer when assembling it back together. This caused a slow leak and all the refrigerant leaked out within the next couple of weeks and A/C stopped cooling. Called them up and told them it wasn't cooling anymore, they found the issue and fixed it and of course, no charge because they warranty their work. Mistakes happen, it's how you handle a mistake that shows what kind of business you are. These folks are great. Will be back for more work. read more

What I appreciate is that they are no-nonsense, no-hype, and don't do the upsale pressure thing like so many dealerships. Plus, I've learned over time and experience that I can trust what they tell me. One negative is that they are not open on weekends and they close at 6pm. So, you've got to get your car fixed M-F between 7am and 6pm. That said, it's been well worth making schedule adjustments.
