Dropped a 360 Mopar crankshaft off to be turned as well as a 302 Ford block to be bored and honed…read more I didn't ask pricing ahead of time so beware, their pricing is double the normal rate locally. When I picked up the parts I was billed $350 for the bore and hone, $50 for vatting the block (that was already thoroughly hot tanked), $50 for installing cam bearings, $22 for the cam bearings ( I told them I would handle the cam bearings, etc), and $150 to turn the 360 crank. When they loaded the block I noticed it didn't have the cam bearings, so I went back in the office and told them they needed to remove the cam bearings and installation charges since it wasn't asked for or done. The owner, Chris, removed these charges but then marked up the bore and hone cost to $400. I called him out on this and he claimed I previously got "Combo discount" but now didn't. After leaving a bad review on Google, I received a call from Chris apologizing. He wanted my credit card to refund some part of the overcharge. I don't trust the guy to give him my credit card at this point. I told him I gave him the opportunity to fix it Friday. Today I am preparing to install the 36 crankshaft and measure it, it's not turned properly. Everything is about .001 inch too big. Now I have to take the crankshaft to another shop and have it done correctly, costing additional money. Beware and avoid this place.

Called them on AUG 23RD and was told they blasted them and should be a few more weeks. Ok, no big deal I understand delays happen. Called again multiple times in mid/late Sept and got the same response. I'm starting to get a little frustrated at this point. Called again beginning of October and the same thing "the tech is measuring them and we should know in the next few days what pistons you need, I will call you once I know more". By now boating season is wrapping up. Finally said screw it and drove to the shop and picked them up OCT 24TH. During the span of 3 months, I never received 1 call about the status of the work, delays, or any info. Clearly my business is not important to them so I decided to take it elsewhere. I've been more than patient and understanding about the delays, but at a certain point I'm tired of being lied to. If you're a racer or have a trip or some sort of hard deadline you need a project finished by, I'd recommend going elsewhere. Also, in regards to the media blasting that they did do, I was told the coolant passages would be cleaned out and cylinder looking like new. Still lots of paint and corrosion everywhere on the cylinders and coolant passages. Lack of attention to detail and care for the customer. Will never do business with them and do not recommend.

Tom seemed very helpful in the beginning and came up with a counter and a swing door with a countertop so we could use all the space. I explained that it would have high traffic in and out of the store and I was concerned about not having a latch or something to support it on the wall. After some time, the hinge started to give in and got crooked. They sent someone to "fix" it but again said that it would be fine, it wouldn't need the wall support. Well, for the second time the hinge gave in and the door no longer swings, the countertop got crooked and unstable. I've contacted them several times and still don't have a solution. So, what seemed to be a serious company in the beginning, turned out to be a big hassle. Would not recommend it.

Capital Welding was able to properly identify the root cause after inspection and even identified deficiencies performed on a previous repair. They did an amazing job, paid attention to the little details and obsessed about the quality of their work. Great price, exceptional service, open and honest communication, and stayed late to make sure everything was to expectation. As an added bonus, they told me that they were going to come back and add a plate to cover a whole that they saw wasps coming in and out of.
