I always prefer small businesses to corporations, and today I remembered why. Don't be fooled by a coupon. This isn't a review for that other place, so I won't get into how awful it was. I'm just so shocked by the difference. Lesson learned: just pay for the service you want. Alesia was kind, quick, gentle, and thorough. The pain was barely noticeable. I have no shame or modesty, but even if you do she won't make you feel weird! Haha. I wish I could just make an appointment for you, that's how pumped I am by this wax. Also as a side note... I hate going places that make me feel weird about wearing a mask or asking to wash my hands. I'm higher risk, and it makes me nervous to try new places. Alesia offered me hand sanitizer when I came in, sanitized everything, had touchless hand washing areas, wore a mask, and opened the sliding door with her elbow. I appreciated that! When I arrived, both receptionists were eating a full meal at the front desk. I waited for a few moments before one of them stopped eating to acknowledge me. I asked if they accepted walk-ins, and after looking at the computer, she chuckled and simply said they did not. I completely understand that walk-ins cannot always be accommodated. I've worked in a cosmetology salon and know schedules can be full. However, I've also worked as a receptionist, and if there isn't availability, the expectation is to offer the next available appointment--even if it's days or weeks away. Instead, I was given no alternative and made to feel like my business wasn't valued. What was even more concerning was the lack of professionalism at the front desk. Seeing a full meal spread out where clients were checking in was off-putting and did not reflect the clean, professional environment I expect from a business like this.
