You get what you pay for. If you want a cheap, uninspired cut where your haircut is simply an item on the menu, go to the cheaper places. If you want a true artist working on your hair and beard, J Moose is that artist. I sat down in his chair on day, bushy beard and scraggly hair, having no idea what I wanted, and just said "do what you think is best". When he was done, I looked awesome (the hair and beard at least, no one can fix ugly), I looked like a Viking king. His instinct on what looks best on your head is so keen, even enviable. I have been going now for the last year, and while his other employees do a decent job, the proprietor himself is the best I have ever seen, and I have no interest in going anywhere else. I was expecting a decent job, especially because I showed the barber what I wanted, but it was cut unevenly and several inches shorter of what I requested. EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for the POOR QUALITY. Large open space with 8 to 10 chairs and the feel of a clubhouse many of us men, as boys, spent 1000s of hours in, horsing around with other young men, when we were growing up. I went in for a slight* trim, I was specific as to explain I only wanted a half inch off max. The barber (can't remember name) ended up cutting almost two inches of hair off because he thought I said "a half an inch on the sides". I would suggest confirming with your client what they request before nodding your head and performing surgery to their hairline. Result? One trick pony, cookie-cutter, Scottsdale-bro hairstyle, with slicked pomade to boot. If you're into that, this is your place. Fortunately, they didn't charge me for it. The best barber in the business! J-Moose has treated me very well and has become a friend over the past three years of him cutting my hair and trimming my beard. I can't tell you how many times he's gone above and beyond for me. For example, I had a job interview on a Tuesday and I needed to get cleaned up. He opened up the shop on a Monday (which is typically closed) and took care of me. So he took time away from his family on his day off to help a barbershop acquaintance, this is why we've become friends. I've never been into a barbershop that cared so much for their customers and they treat you like family. If you have a beard, there is no better place to go. The lines are sharp and they know how to work with your natural beard-lines. Unlike most barbershops (my last barber) where they take your beard-line too low so it only looks good for like two days. They go with the natural lines so You can look better longer. As you can tell I'm a fan of their work and customer service.
