My go to barber, Ferras does a great job on my hair and when he's out or busy I have Alan cut my hair. They are usually pretty busy on Saturday so come another day if you don't have time to wait but the cuts are worth the wait. They also do a great job with boys cuts also. Fair warning to any black/ethnic people looking to get their haircut at any barber shop... Check out your barbers products and tools. If they don't have common products for our ethnic hair, they probably don't know how to sufficiently cut it or treat it. No matter how urgent it is, you're better off waiting for professional I called and asked if they were barbers that specialize in ethnic hair to which I have the response "yes" so I went in and asked for a taper w/ lineup and left with a high fade and my natural hairline. It was my mistake for trusting this barber to cut my hair and I accept that. But if you are a barber and you do not know how to properly cut ethnic/black hair do not tell people that you were able to do it. You are cheating them out of money. He did a decent job with the high fade but I asked for a taper and lineup. It would've great if he had products and tools for black/ethnic hair. He didn't even have a pick. read more

I have been coming here for about a year now. Gotten my hair cut by several of the barbers here. They are all excellent barbers. They show their professionalism through their skills. Fast, high quality hair cuts. These guys are attention to detail freaks. Even if I come in on a busy day, I've never waited anymore than 20 mins for a haircut. I must say although all the barbers are great, I come in to see Alan most of the time. The waiting area is comfortable, they usually have music playing in shop. I am ridiculously picky about who touches my hair. After a few bad haircuts around Tempe, I finally found this place! I don't like that 45 minute Barber experience so these guys are great. They're quick, no BS and straight to the point! Show them a picture of what you want your head to look like and BOOM, that's what it will be. I would highly recommend Feras for a tight fade or a super short style, but Saad if you want a scissor cut. They are true hair sculptors in this joint, but you will pay more than average, well worth it though! read more

This place is tucked away in the corner of a shopping center that features Food City as it's anchor tenant. I was surprised to learn that it is an Iraqi owned business, but these guys can cut hair pretty good. Don't know if my barber was the owner, but he was friendly and the haircut was only $16. There was no hot towels or razor stuff going on here either. I was out the door in 20 minutes or so and very happy with my new haircut. I'll start by saying my entire haircut took only 4 minutes. I've been to probably 10 different barbers in the past 8ish years and this one was by far the least detailed I have experienced. I understand Steve was very fast and I only got an undercut, but there was not a lot of attention to detail put into the cut. I could tell he was trying to get me in and out really quickly (could have been because a couple of his buddies came in right after me). This was also the first barber shop I've gone to that did not do a straight razor edging at the end of the cut. When I got home I noticed a couple missed long hairs on the sides of my head (where it was supposed to be a number 2) as well as a lot of dark hair debris from the clippers which apparently were not cleaned or brushed off after the previous cut. Overall I'm not impressed and I'm surprised there are so many 5 star reviews of this place. Maybe they had a different barber do their cut. Definitely not worth $16. read more

I had a good friend refer me to J Moose because my barber was out of town and I was in desperate need of a cut/beard trim. I am VERY particular about who I let touch my beard (I've made the mistake of going to a stranger for a quick clean up and left feeling butchered and violated. I guess my parents were right. Stranger = Danger). Feras the owner of the shop took care of me and I've got to say, I left feeling like a brand new man. He knew how to cut and shape the beard & actually listened to what I wanted so I didn't have to sit in fear of him taking too much off. He would ask me if the length was good throughout the cut and didn't just go full Edward Scissorhands on my ass. Needless to say, I ended up switching barber shops after 5 years of service.
