It's a great place for hotpot and kbbq! My friend made a sauce from their sauce bar that was kicking! Our server was very quick and friendly. It's a busy place so there's usually a little wait. Expect it to be packed and vibrant with noise. You can still get to all you want easily despite the business. And food always comes out blazing fast. I would definitely recommend trying J Pot.

This restaurant was insanely delicious-- what's not to love ? They have delicious options AND ROBOTS ! They have little robots bringing around food which improves service. It's so fun and delicious! The ambiance is very lively and exciting ! Had a great time with a variety of options and will definitely be back soon!

Servers were very friendly and attentive, making sure you have enough water and asking if you want to order more. We went at 6:30pm on Friday and waited around 15 minutes. If you show up closer to 7, the waiting time will be much longer. There's a sauce station with lots of option and they even have instructions to create premade sauce. Lots of side dishes including fruits, kimchi and salads. There's a decent dessert selection and my favorite is the mango ice cream. Vibes are very good in general. They even have little robots roaming around and serving food. Very family friendly and I'd definitely recommended this place for hotpot.

Perhaps my new favorite spot for hot pot! Mg husband and I came on a Friday night and waited about 30 minutes for a table around 6:30. You choose between hot pot, bbq, or both - just as long as everyone at your table decides on the same thing. We opted for hot pot only. I was impressed with the amount of ingredients they had! The meats and mushrooms were my favorites. The sauce and veggie bars were great too! So many good options. There were three things that stood out: - Our server. He was cheerful, helpful, and not overbearing. Checked in on us the perfect amount of times. - The broths! They were actually flavorful and you could tell the difference between them. We got the curry and tom yum and both were delicious. - I didn't feel gross and bloated afterward (when usually after hot pot I do) I'm attesting this to the quality of the ingredients. I can't wait to go back!

Super Good meats and seafood. Octopus and squid were excellent. Robot waiters were fun, the actual staff was very helpful as well. The sides bar was great with a lot of choices for dipping sauces. Dessert was simple but tasty.

This restaurant offers both hotpot and Korean BBQ. My group chose to do hotpot only. It was decent, but to be honest, my experiences with hotpot and KBBQ have all felt pretty similar--nothing mind-blowing. I got the chicken bone broth, which was good, and the other soup bases were solid as well. Here, you order everything through the server using an iPad. The portion sizes for the meat were pretty generous. Some vegetables are self-serve, as well as the sauces, which I found impressive because they offer a great variety. However, I wouldn't recommend their Hmong pepper sauce--it wasn't great. They also have a good selection of fruits and desserts. For birthdays, they do provide a small sack mini square cake, but it's nothing special. Unfortunately, I was a bit grossed out by small flies in my soup, which is why I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5. The location is nice, the space inside is spacious, and overall, it's an okay spot. The service was alright but could be better.

This is a super fun and delicious place! Super clean and well staffed. Went here with a couple people for a bday and we had no idea how fun the experience would be. Went had a great tutorial from outlet human wait staff and ordered a whole lot of food. We had the combo of hot pot and bbq. Great concept-you pick the raw food and then you get to cook it right on your table. We really loved the beef bulgogi, the shrimp and the veggies. Lots of sauces and fresh veggies to add to your meal. It's not cheap, but we all agreed it's worth the price. Def recommend!

Recommended this place by my brother and it was well worth it. We went with my brother and my parents . Our server , Ace, was super friendly and pleasant to interact with. He was funny and took the time to explain everything to us. It is $35 for hot pot or Korean bbq or you can dk both for $40. I love the fact you get your own hot pot. That was pretty good. The salad bar and the sauce bar had a lot of selections. I even found pineapples and mango's we could grill. The selection was good and the robot brought us some of the food we ordered. My bf and I laughed because the robot played the Mario theme song. This place very ascetically pleasing . Very spacious and well decorated . Can't wait to come back again.

J Pot was such a fun experience! The location was very nicely decorated to feel like you were in Asia. We did have to wait a bit to be sat, but it was worth the wait! Once we were seated, we had speedy and super helpful service. We ordered both the hot pot and the barbecue and I would highly recommend trying both options! Grilling in front of you was so much fun and so was using the hot pot. It was a very lively experience and it gave us the opportunity to try a bunch of new things. I would definitely recommend!

My friends and I went to get some All You Can Eat Kbbq and it was pretty good! The waiter was attentive; he gave my friend an apron since she was wearing white, refilled our drinks, and switch out the hot plate grill. Love their side dish options.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. I love kbbq and hot pot, and it's amazing that I can go somewhere and have both. The service is always good. One of my parents is in a wheelchair and it was busy but the back room was closed. They opened up the back room instead of making us wait for a table in the main room to open up. I really appreciate that! My parent can't sit in a booth or chair, they need to be in their wheelchair at all times. So it was nice - some places just don't care. The food quality is always consistently good. I love the marinated short ribs, bulgogi and garlic shrimp. The marinades complement the grill flavor. The sauce bar is packed with a ton of options to customize your experience, and there's always fresh fruit and jello. They have yummy ice cream and mousse options as well. Overall, I highly recommend this place! Especially because they're accommodating and accessible for people in wheelchairs.

Authentic K-BBQ & Hot Pot Place. Except they don't have "tongue" which is usually the most popular items in K-BBQ Great value for your money. Service is A+ Our server's Noah is very knowledgable and recommends really good stuff! If you're not familiar with this cuisine, don't hesitate to ask your server for help We waited about 10 minute before we get a table. There's a salad bar, sauce bar, vegetable (to cook) bar, dessert bar. Everything else you ordered thru your server and a cute robot will bring your orders to your table. For Hot Pot, Everyone gets individual pot with broth of your choice. The K-BBQ it's communal and center of table. Air filter here is pretty good. So don't worry about excess smoke Make sure you come hungry and ready to have fun. Don't eat too fast, enjoy!

Glad we did. 5 stars just for the quality of the brisket. The thing that's amazing, if you cook brisket yourself, is the quality of the trim. A uniformly thin 1/8" layer of fat cap on every piece. No idea how they do it but it's exceptional, just at the right thickness to render properly. The brisket is top tier, maybe the second such brisket I've had in the area like it at a restaurant. Good strong smoke profile, rub is a little understated but good and uniform, everything properly rendered, plenty of gelatin and fat for moisture. Strange thing, the brisket was $25/lb which is more than reasonable for brisket of this quality, but the pork ribs and belly were the same price. I didn't try them so I can't say why the pork costs the same as the beef; I'm guessing there is a bigger demand for the pork from the SE Asian customer base. The hot sauce is not what I expected, quite vinegary and what I think were all red Thai peppers. To be honest I was expecting Kua Txob (Hmong pepper sauce) which would have been perfect with the meat. I'll just have to make it myself next time I find this place open. Mac & cheese was very good, nothing super praiseworthy but a good solid tasty home-style side dish. The fries were the least interesting thing we got, but still okay. Overall it's worth looking for and making the trek in the middle of the day, especially if you're a brisket snob/enthusiast.

Brisket: proper render, good smoke ring (this doesn't affect taste but it looks nice), meteorite-black bark as it should be, proper bend on the slice. Cole slaw was good, no stupid tricks or added herbs, exactly what you expect. Meat platters served with toast which I appreciate more than traditional squishy white bread. They have a whole lot of sauces to choose from; while I don't generally use or advocate sauces with brisket, I tried the Hot and I liked the balance of peppers and vinegar. Alary's (the bar that serves Petey's) validates parking for the ramp next door, which is great because parking is even worse than usual downtown right now. I passed the smoker walking from the ramp, looks like a big charcoal/wood gravity or sidebox wood-fired offset. You can tell from the product that it's run with real skill. Looking forward to my next visit, which is something I almost never say about a barbecue joint.

The ribs are as good as the best places in the area (Firebox, Jellybean and Julia's) but they're still unique. They have a few sauce options--the green one is amazing. For my sides, I ordered the sticky rice, apple coleslaw, bbq sauce, and hmong pepper. The sticky rice was made just how I like it - hot, sticky, and just the right amount of chewiness. The apple coleslaw was good but not memorable. The Hmong pepper sauce was fresh and spicy-- but not too spicy. It gave a good balance to the sweetness of the meat. I docked one star for the following... They provided some tables that look like the ones K12 children sit in at lunch. It's not good whenever you're over cooking your shrimp. It was inedible. The dirty rice and creole sauce were excellent. I don't think I'd put asparagus in this dish, but that's what it came with? Didn't think asparagus was a southern style vegetable? I ordered the special. It was brisket birria tacos. If you've ever ordered birria tacos before, you know it always comes with a beef consome for dipping your tacos in. This is why it's called birria tacos and any decent chef who's been educated about Mexican cuisine knows this! Ugh! Barely any cheese in the tacos. I was really missing the consome. I asked for it from the bartender and he said yeah it usually comes with it. I received a side dish of hot sauce instead? I'll post pics. For $80, over-rubbery shrimp and not birria tacos, was extremely underrated. I was very disappointed. Normally, I've enjoyed my last three visits. I felt like we overpaid. Please, if you're going to call it birria tacos, don't forget the consome! Any random recipe on the Internet calls for a beef broth for Birria tacos. They serve up your traditional BBQ eats but I did notice their Pulled Pork had different flavors which I wished I saw before ordering, definitely trying those out at a different time. But for today I decided on an order of Brisket and Beef Ribs with no sides. The Brisket looked pretty damn well made to me, the smoke rings were clearly visible. Then I took my fork and easily sliced through it like a hot knife through butter. And as I did I could see the lucious meat juices drip off my fork. I couldn't wait to place it into my mouth. Once I did I was in love with it. So so tender and a good smoke flavor to it, not overpowering. As for the Beef Ribs, they were big and flavorful! Easily fall off the bone and amazing juicy! Besides the meat I also got a side of their Spicy BBQ, and I have to say I liked it a lot, probably my new favorite BBQ sauce! I was suprised at the smokey character of the sauce that prevents it from being too sweet. It had enough spice that I could taste the heat but it was nothing no one can handle. I am glad they gave me 3 dipping cups of that BBQ sauce, gladly dip or paint it on any meat I get. This truck is another winner for me and I am so glad to see lots of Hmong food trucks popping up making outrageously good food! Also the owners are friendly and provide good service.
