I recently had JS Appliance NY for $125 come to address an icemaker issue because I was not…read morecomfortable with what another company, Total Appliance Solutions recommended a week or so earlier and this repairman spent less than 10 minutes in my home arriving at the same conclusion that I needed a new icemaker for in the neighborhood of $600. I asked him if could I have a bad water valve and his response was no that's usually not the problem. Was that a proper diagnosis? NO! Disgusted with both companies, I took matters into my own hands and based on their spontaneous diagnosis I found a factory new icemaker online and installed it for $65 only to find the icemaker was still not making ice. Both companies did not spend appropriate time in diagnosing my icemaker problem. Each company would have had me spend hundreds of dollars and the problem would not have been fixed. I can only imagine I would have been told that not only was my icemaker bad, I also had a bad water valve as well and the cost would have been added to the high bills already incurred. In a last ditch effort to find a solution myself, I troubleshot the water valve and while I had to pull the freezer from the wall, a minor inconvenience, had they done that they would have easily found the water valve to be defective, and I am not an electrical engineer. For a factory new water valve for $63 including tax and shipping I easily fixed the problem myself. Had I taken the initiative initially, I would have saved several hundred dollars in useless diagnosis. In conclusion, don't be misled by factory authorized repairmen who are so called experts or are crooks because it's apparent that many will try to take the easy way out at our expense!!!

FULLY DISAGREE with all negative reviews!…read more I called yesterday for dishwasher repair quote/service call. First got voicemail. Then he called me back within 15 minutes. We spoke about the scope of work. He told me his price. I mentioned to him that while this isn't an emergency repair call I did happen to have off work the very next day and asked if he could accommodate. He said sure no problem but I would have to be second stop and estimated arrival time ge stated was between 11am-12pm. I said great, thank you so much and appointment was booked. Day of service he got here ten minutes early at 10:50am. He assesses situation but said he didn't have the right size clamp to finish right now. I asked him to let me check if I happened to have it but of course of all the random parts and hardware I have collected over the years I didnt have it. He said he would then have to go to his 3rd stop, head back to shop to get clamp and then back to me stating he would be back around 2pm. Since I happened to read these negative yelp reviews after I booked him and before he arrived, I asked him outright to be honest and tell me before he left if he truly was going to be able make it back and he gave me his word. Which was acceptable to me because there are always two sides to every story / negative customer reviews and the second side of those is always unknown because the negative customer never let's anyone know their part in all of it!! Yet again, Marcin was on his way earlier than initially anticipated and came back to my house around 1:30pm to finish the work. He nailed the repair in 20 minutes and was out my door right around 2pm. I even asked him to assess our washer and dryer and he told me straight up that for us to pay him to repair then wouldn't be cost effective to us like a true honest professional should treat his customers! So 5 stars to Marcin Appliances and Electronics plus future references from myself to anyone I happen to talk to in the future who would be looking for a honest appliance repairman!

Carl showed up right away and did mention the fee would be $125 which I agreed to since I was desperate to get my dishwasher fixed. He looked at the dishwasher and said it is a cheap model (whatever I thought). Anyway, he said well there is nothing I can do. So, I said can you at least look at it before you decide that. He opened the dishwasher and said, "No you need a new dishwasher". I paid him the $125 service fee which he asked to make it out to "cash". I Just wanted him out since I knew he was full of it. The service appointment lasted five minutes so that says a lot. I called someone in my complex who was able to get it fixed. I am still getting a new dishwasher but feel I was taken advantage of.
