A friend gave me Good News Appliance's phone number and I figured it couldn't hurt to give them a call. Christine took my call and was very professional and took my basic information. Within 24 hours, Jeff (the owner of the company) was at my house and diagnosed the issue within minutes. The part was ordered and installed days later at a fraction of the cost to replace. A used filthy disgusting toilet seat was sent to my 93 year ailing mother's house. Her aid was exposed to it while taking it out of box and had to inform her health agency of the incident. This was sent directly from the Selden store. When I spoke to manager Anna she just kept repeating that the box is sealed and photographed prior to leaving store and she has no idea how that could happen . Not only was that an insult she never once apologized ...she said only thing she could do is send another but I had to place an order again, but she went on to say it may not get there today. She also said that she would stay in contact with me an update me ....this call was at 11 am of course never hearing from her back the toilet seat was sent at 5pm that night leaving my mom 93 without her aid there to retrieve it from the driver. Washing Machine stopped midstream and wouldn't drain or turn. So I went to Yelp and put in a repair quote for my appliance guy Pete who I've used several times with outstanding service. He immediately replied that he was closed because of Covid 19. But I also received an immediate response from Billy of Island Appliance who said Connie was in the office and to giver her a call to set up an Appt. So I did. Connie indeed was in the office at 9pm and said her technician was out on a call in Huntington. She contacted him and got back to me within 10 mins. He gave me the choice of coming by after he finished the Huntington job or tomorrow. In this crazy times of Covid 19 I was able to get immediate service. He or should I say they SHOWED UP AT 11:30pm?! YES that's exactly what I said!! 11:30pm! Appliance angels! He had the parts (Drain Pump & bearings) & fixed my washer promptly. Not sure but I think it was his son with him. He was teaching while fixing. Both were Very friendly. This truly meant the world to me because fortunately both me & my son are still working so we need to be able to wash our things in the short span of time that we are home.
