4.5. Cool spot! There was a pretty long line on a Saturday morning but it moved quickly…read more I got a morning bun and an iced oat milk latte. Both were good! The morning bun had just the right amount of citrus and caramelized sugar on the bottom. I also got some new sourdough starter which I was really excited about - it made for a delicious loaf. It was a little tricky to get a table, but a cool spot. I'll be back!

A Truly Artisanal Bakery…read more I rarely leave reviews on yelp anymore, but this bakery is so impressive, it inspired me to type this down. I'm from the Bay Area and loved going to all kinds of bakery when I travel. I did not have much expectations when I came to Raleigh. I tried Paul and Jack and couple other bakeries, they were all good, but not impressive. The first thing I noticed was their Mill Room, and second I noticed that they have 100 score on hygiene. Not that I care about the score that much but still impressive. Then We got a bunch of pastries, the shortbread was the first one we tried and wow, it was so simple yet so flavorful, truly malted tasting shortbread, it has so much depth in taste. Then I had a had a ham and cheese croissant, it was on the salty side but I kept eating it when I'm not even hungry. The true winner though, is the plain croissant I got which traveled with me for 72 hours back home. I got it out of my bag, slightly flattened by all my stuff, I expect it to taste flat and meh. I put it in the oven for 6 minutes and it turned out to be the best croissant I've had. It was flaky, soft and soo flavorful. Now I cannot stop thinking about it. Lastly, I want to say that with so many pop ups, new bakeries coming up in different cities, often times we were chasing that unique flavors, that special toppings on croissants, but Boulted Bread stayed true to bread, and perfected the craft without focusing on "exotic" or "special" flavors. I truly respect this.

My friend picked up some desserts here the other day. We tried the cookie butter pudding (i think…read morethat's what it's called- it was amazing!), the cinnamon roll cake- it was ok but not the start of the show, and the peach poundcake which was fresh, not overly sweet, light. My picks in order were the biscoff cookie butter pudding, peach poundcake and finally the cinnamon roll cake. Prices are a bit high in my opinion but for a treat once in a while, very much worth it and enjoy supporting local, black owned, small businesses.

My brother surprised us with a dozen cupcakes from Cake Town Bakery for my youngest's birthday…read morecelebration, and wow they were absolutely incredible! We had a variety of flavors, including chocolate, red velvet, vanilla, and lemon, and every single one was delicious. The cupcakes were unbelievably moist, and the frosting was so light, creamy, and flavorful. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. They disappeared so quickly that I didn't even get a chance to take any pictures! After trying the cupcakes, I checked out their social media and saw they offer a wonderful variety of desserts. I also learned that their cakes are made by pre-order, and after tasting these cupcakes, I'll definitely be keeping them in mind for future birthdays and celebrations. If their cupcakes are any indication of the quality of their cakes and other desserts, I know they'll be amazing. Highly recommend!

Brecotea is a fantastic spot when you're craving both boba and fresh pastries. The selection of…read moredrinks is impressive, and everything tasted fresh and well-balanced without being overly sweet. The boba had the perfect chewy texture, and the pastries looked just as good as they tasted. It's one of those places where it's hard to leave with just one item. The atmosphere is bright, clean, and inviting, making it a great place to relax, catch up with friends, or enjoy a quick treat. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when deciding between the many drink and pastry options. Overall, Brecotea offers a consistently enjoyable experience, and it's definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

Grabbed coffee and a few snacks here recently and had a good time…read more First, the parking lot was pretty darn busy but we did manage to find a spot. I was shocked at how long the line was (at 2 PM!) but I guess people love their Brecotea :) The array of pastries, both savory and sweet, was impressive. My wife and I got savory options this time around and they were decent, but everything was pretty unhealthy and my chicken curry roll was definitely cold in the middle. We also got lattes and they were really tasty. There's a good amount of seating throughout the restaurant and it's reasonably comfy. By the time we left around 5 PM, it was much less busy, so maybe hit up Brecotea around then if you're interested in a more chill experience. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and would definitely come back, although I may stick to the sweet pastries next time.
