Excellent Coffee, Delicious Chai, and Great, Friendly Service!! On a bit of a road trip to go camping and we decided to stop in for a cup of coffee to carry us to our final destination. I got an Iced Americano, my husband got an Iced Chai with Almond milk. Both were made with precision and are beyond delicious. This is a roaster and coffee shop that knows what they are doing! Highly recommend you give it a whirl. We'll be dropping by again in a couple days on our way back through. This is the cutest darn espresso shop EVER! I came in on a Sunday and was greated by the owners (Husband & Wife) and got rung up at the "register" by their cute son (around age 10 I'm guessing?). They were extremely friendly, helpful and overall just pleasant! Aside from the great service, the coffee is also great! The macchiato with vanilla was so....BAMB! I definitely recommend it! They are also totally open to making drinks not listed on their menu for instance; milk tea for my friend. (it tasted great too haha) Oh, and they also offer an almond milk option for an additional $0.50. If you like items that are unique and crafty they also have a selection of purses, drinkware, etc. you can purchase. In a town centered completely around German culture, this shop stands out and I'm glad they are located in Leavenworth! Make sure you stop by. =) read more

Absolutely stop into J5 if you're in Levenworth Washington. Grab a bag of beans. These days I'm strictly decaf (to lower acids) but THIS DECAF is THE BEST I've ever had. In fact, in a blind taste test beside regular coffee, you'd pick Esmeralda Swiss Water Decaf for it's quality and taste. The cafe is sparse, so don't expect a sit down, (maybe they could place a bench out front), but there are a few choice baked goods and some dynamite merchandise. I came here with my girlfriend while I was visiting from Dallas on a warm August day after walking around Leavenworth. It was time for some afternoon coffee and when we walked in, I requested the barista make me a sweet, iced drink. I can't even remember the name of my drink, but the young lady who crafted my iced beverage was so sweet and my drink was delicious and hit the spot. The gentleman who took our order was very friendly and gave great recommendations. We also bonded with him about Dallas, TX! Incredible coffee and very friendly service. We met the owner's father and had a great conversation with him while tasting a few of their coffees. They truly know their coffee and seem to be really good, honest roasters. We took home a bag of the Cafe Femenino and it is our favorite! Not only does it taste great, but also contributes to the Cafe Femenino Foundation which helps women and their families in remote coffee communities where there are high rates of abuse. So you get to do something good (and tasty) for yourself AND for those who are less privileged. read more

This is the one place in the world, up-to-date, that I truly believe deserves a 5 star review. J5 coffee is the best. From the first contact with unroasted beans to the expert shots pulled from the iconic blue espresso machine featured on their shirts. They roast their own beans and frankly do it with expertise and precision. Not only are their beans delicious but the skill found at the espresso machine has always kept me coming back for more. As a Leavenworth native, not only is this my favorite coffee shop in town but it's my favorite coffee shop. PERIOD. Just know that if you are looking for a café atmosphere, J5 doesn't have a sitting area, because all of its indoor space is dedicated to the science of the perfect cuppa Joe. Hopefully someday they'll expand and add a pleasant sitting room. Until that day though, I'm content with their outstanding coffee.
