Going to Jabberwock will probably be one of the worst decisions you make for your pet. they refuse to take any sort of responsibility for anything! My poor baby beardie is super sick with a disease from the store, they refused to help with any sort of bill or anything else. PS i purchased him less than a month ago. Yesterday I got a bearded dragon. They breed him, and he is super healthy and strong. They have a great variety of decorations and reptiles. The staff are super nice and a willing to walk you through the things you need and what to get. I called about a question and they were really nice and gave me a great answer. For being such a small place, they have an amazing selection, and they don't compromise cleanliness with the amount they have! The guy that waited on me (store owner maybe? I am incredibly impressed with the customer service I received at Jabberwock Reptiles. I went in to purchase a starter tarantula for my son. Abby immediately greeted me at the door and spend a solid amount of time helping me get everything together and answering my questions. I didn't feel rushed at all. She was super accommodating and even helped me carry all my supplies to my car. I saw other staff members taking equal care with the other customers in the store..of which there were many! The last time I felt this excited about reptiles was when I first went to an Expo in NY. The guys here treat their animals well with respect, and you can tell that by how tame and calm the animals are. The store was very clean and customer service was outstanding. Went there to purchase a crested gecko. The staff there were very friendly and obviously knew a lot about all the different species they sold! I also looked at the snakes, which all seemed very calm, healthy, and well cared for. No stuck shed, very clean enclosures, and none acted aggressive or defensive. All the cresteds were also very healthy looking! One employee was able to sex them for me so I could purchase a male. Overall I had a wonderful experience and will definitely return in the future for feeder insects! And perhaps one day for a snake of my own. :) read more

One of the only places anywhere near me with tarantulas, a nice variety and I've not had any issue with misidentification. I feel the prices are quite fair too. I also have my C. cranwelli from here and I love her, she lies about all day just like her mum :p. The only reason why I took a star off is bc of one of their employees who's been there nearly every time I've been. While most of the employees are kind, this one guy rubs me the wrong way. Idk if it's the kind of thing where an insecure guy acts rude to overcompensate, or if he thinks that I'm an idiot because I'm a woman. I bought some feeders from him and he was totally unhelpful figuring out the quantity I was looking for bc I can't think in grams, and I purchased a cage and a couple of slings at the same time and he quite rudely asked if I was buying the cage for the sling even though it would have clearly been a ridiculously inappropriate set up if you have literally any knowledge of tarantula care at all. You may have well asked me if I was housing the slings together, it would have been just as stupid an idea and you could have made the same assumption from my purchases. Just the kind of pretentious sh*t with no expertise to back it up that keeps new people from looking into tarantula care, so it really bothers me. Besides him though, the other staff have been quite helpful in the past, and their animals all seem really well cared for. read more

This place is fantastic! When we got our baby beardie we didn't know much. We got him at another local pet store in Mass that deals with a local breeder. But it didn't matter! Jabberwock was fantastic. They helped us with all our questions and the items we needed to get for him. As he grew they helped us along the way. You can go in and pet and hold their baby beardies and you can tell that they have been handled. All of them have been socialized. They breed their own and you can see the breeders there are big and healthy as well. We have also seen lizards that were surrendered and they have put them up for adoption. It proves that they do care about the welfare of their animals and they are just not product and stock to them. They didn't even judge us or laugh at us when one of us (not me) almost lit the apartment on fire with the basking light. Instead they reassured us accidents happen and sold us the solution to make sure it never happened again! We also used their boarding service quite often after we came home to a cricket fiasco when a friend watched him over a weekend once. (20+ crickets loose in the tank and a very fat beardie!) He always came back content and full. They never had a problem holding him and even complimented us on how friendly he is. Even when we were on vacation and got stranded for 5 days due to consecutive snow storms and cancelled flights they had not problem taking care of our pet. They even showed us how to clip his nails because he had become a bit of a weapon! This was our go-to store for all our needs! And we ended up with a great big beardie with their help! The downside is that they only have one location! We moved across the country and we can tell you that this store is amazing! It is clean and knowledgeable. When we had to board for a couple weeks during the move, they were more than willing to help. We also had a pet service come to pick him up to fly him out after our stuff (and his tank) were delivered. The people at the store made sure that he was packed up correctly and we were so happy he arrived alive! I have been going to Jabberwock since they first opened, and I don't plan on switching stores any time soon. I drive all the way up from Quincy on a weekly/biweekly basis just because I love supporting a place like this. Knowledgable folks that take great care of their animals and feeder insects. I also have boarded my Bearded Dragon there before while I was on vacation, and they took excellent care of him. Matter of fact, Jabberwock is where I bought him to begin with....and what a handsome Beardie he is. Sure, I could save gas and time by getting my supplies at Petco a mile from my house, but why would I support a store like that that has no business selling reptiles at all (read: Petco, I hate you). Bottom line: Jabberwock Reptiles is the best reptile store around, hands down. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. read more

I cannot believe the level of customer service I received from this business today. I bought a pretty expensive animal from him a week ago and there was an issue with it and I showed up today and the owner Steve completely took care of me with an amazing offer I couldn't refuse. Such an awesome, humble and educated man. A HUGE collection of arachnids and he answered every single question I threw at him. I drive an hour and a half to his store and it's totally worth it. Just bought a beautiful Dalmation crested gecko from them today! I get frozen rodents from them occasionally. The owner and his son are very friendly. They know what they are talking about and ALL the animals in the store are perfectly healthy and cared for greatly. I plan on gettting all my supplies and some more animals from them from now on! Just picked up our box turtle from boarding here while we were out of town. Steve and the crew at Jabberwock could not have been nicer. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the cages and tanks and the staff who are constantly tending to the animals. Appreciated the effort they made to educate themselves about box turtles in order to care for Lucky. I went there to look at their dart frogs because there is nothing around that carries dart frogs and good terrarium plants. They carry dart frogs that are really had to find because not many stores carry any at all. The employes know what they are talking about. The employes are very nice. Jabberwock is such an amazing store. I wish I had found it sooner. I've been going consistently for about a year or so since finding this hidden gem, and I couldn't be happier with them. They have a great selection of animals, including some rare animals that I had never seen before in person (like the cinnamon tree frogs I recently purchased). The animals are healthy and well cared for, and several of them are captive bred within the store. They also carry reasonably priced products to help care for your cold-blooded friends (lights, enclosures, heat pads, etc.) as well as a good selection of feeders. One of their biggest assets is the staff - they are all truly knowledgeable about the animals they carry, and they are super friendly. As a reptile-geek myself, I love talking to them about what they have in the store, and at home. Unlike other pet stores, I am fully confident that they are giving me accurate information about the care of the animals I'm interested in purchasing. So far I've taken home 10 pets from their store, and all are thriving. Steve, the owner, is probably one of the nicest guys I have ever met.
