We visited Jack Allen's on Saturday, 7/23, and had a very pleasant experience! We as a group ordered the fried chicken sandwich, fish tacos, chicken fried steak, and 2 of the desserts. My biggest problem with this place is that there isn't one closer to Abilene. I went there for lunch with a friend for the first time, and it is absolutely wonderful. I don't care for pimento cheese, but theirs is simply amazing. I had the pesto crab stuffed chicken breast, and it was so good! I also tried a bite of my friend's chicken fried steak which was killer. I found out they have a cookbook which I am now on the hunt for. In regards to service, my waitress was sassy, fun, and took care of us. Also I have to mention that the prices at this place are exceptional for the product you receive. Last Wednesday October 30 I had the worse bar service I've ever had and the lady had "Bar Lead" on her shirt. crazy bad and no way this lady should be a "bar lead" I'm a regular bar lunch person. she refused to acknowledge me for 10 mins yet she clearly saw me. I finally had to wave her down as she wouldn't stop chatting with a server. There was only 3 people at the tiny bar so it wasn't that she was busy. No tickets were coming out of the machine for tables needing drinks. She just didn't care. Finally came over and didn't bring a menu. Didn't offer the cheese and crackers so I asked and she goes "oh you want that" - wow. I know the menu so I told her I'm ordering as didnt want to wait any longer. She spent the rest of the time I was there ignoring all those at the bar. I never got offered for an additional drink. She Never checked on anyone nor was she cheerful. Everyone had to wave to get checks. She really was awful. If I was new to Jack Allen's I would not come back. This kind of person can ruin a reputation and as a lead wow think about who you put in a position of leadership as she isn't one. read more

Came here for lunch one day and was very pleased with it all. Our service was awesome, the house rita was so light and refreshing I could drink them all day! My buttermilk salad was delicious but huge! I only ate half of it but would still order it again. The barbacoa quesadilla was good but much spicier than anticipated and would have preferred either it or the slaw to be spicy, not both. Overall, great experience again. read more

I have been to the Round Rock location several times and am glad I tried the Cedar Park one, as it was an awesome experience from beginning to end. I met a friend here for lunch and the wait was shorter than expected, which is always nice. The hostess staff was so friendly and helpful and always smiling. Our waitress was really nice too and answered any questions I had about food or drinks. She was very accommodating and took good care of us! I started with a drink, which was Tito's Sage & Grapefruit Splash. I have to say that surprisingly, there was not a lot of ice, so I actually had a nice drink that lasted longer than typical. Many places add so much ice that with only a couple of sips, the drink is gone! If I'm paying close to $10 for a good drink, it is expected that I am served an actual drink! Lol My friend and I started with an appetizer, Jalapeño Crab Dip and it was divine! I ordered another appetizer to have as my meal, which was the Crunchy Catfish and Slaw...YUM!!!
