I had lunch today at Jack Astor's in Stoney Creek. I sat on the dining room side. I ordered what I always get at a Jack Astor's ... Chicken Parmigiana (without the garlic chips). The chicken was good but a bit on the small size. And in one spot, it was a bit tough. The pasta was good ... a bit cold on the top so I mixed it up with the more hot bottom ones. Terrible service. We sat in the bar, where there were 3 other tables. The server walked by us several times. Brought drinks , checked in with the same table twice. Cleared two dirty tables and never once looked at us. We ended up leaving. read more

It's a solid restaurant if you want to have a bite after the mall. Well sort of, you have to walk out of the mall to get into Jack Astors which is kind of weird. Anyways, I went here to grab a salad and some garlic bread. I got the garlic bread. Never the salad. They came around asking for dessert I told them they forgot my salad and they acted like I never said anything. Then offered me a free sundae even though I never had a main! It's not like I ordered something basic even, I got a bunch of stuff out of the salad and saw the waiter writing it down. I don't understand this at all... Never coming again! read more

We are in Canada to visit Niagara Falls and this place is close to our hotel so we decided to give it a try. Friday night at 7 and the place is empty. Should have been our warning sign. We wanted something easy and quick. 1 beer that was Luke warm. Terrible. 1 Caesar salad that was flavorful but not cold and borderline not fresh. 1 order of wings that were actually half wings so an order of 8 is actually an order of 4. The wings were not fresh and were not even hot when delivered. No way they were cooked/fried anywhere close to the time we ordered them. The small order of fries we had were also delivered Luke warm. For what you get quantity/quality wise the prices are ridiculous. 1 beer 1salad 1 order of wings and fries for $56. Now I know why it was empty. Save your money and go elsewhere. On a side note our server who was friendly told us there is no kitchen manager and unfortunately food is coming out like this all the time and we were not the only ones to complain. Wow. read more

We went there with a party of 15, a few extra people showed up and they had no problem with accommodating for it. The garlic bread with cheese was amazing and I would recommend going there just for that alone! Our server Bianca was extremely friendly and organized. Everything was prepared correctly as requested. We did have an issue with trying to get our appetizer out before all the main courses which caused two of our party to not be eating their main course the same time as everyone else. Jack Astor's is a pretty safe dinner bet if you are out and about and indecisive which is exactly what happened last weekend when we were in Hamilton. I've had a real love/hate relationship with Jack Astor's over the year but it's been a much more positive feeling these past few trips. The place was pretty busy when we arrived and people were getting ready to watch the Super Bowl. We were seated right away and our waitress was pretty quick to help for most of our visit. The menu here seems to be getting smaller (or maybe I'm just imagining things?) who knows. I ended up ordering the chicken BLT stack'd poutine figuring I would cure my hankering for both poutine and chicken at the same time. The food didn't take too long to come out and soon enough I was stuffing my face. I'll be honest here....I didn't love it. I can't put my finger on the exact thing that disappointed me (actually I think I can) but something just wasn't doing it for me. The poutine was not bad, it just wasn't great. The presentation was good, it was cooked just right, but I think the gravy was just a huge let down. It didn't have the poutine gravy taste one would expect. Overall, Jack Astor's is always going to be a safe reliable bet. I'll be returning to a dozen of these in the future but I will for sure not be ordering the same dish. read more

We ordered takeout on Nov.9/22. Uber delivery. We were surprised at how delicious the meal was. We've eaten in the restaurant and ordered takeout many times in the past. I ordered the Miso Salmon Bowl and it was so yummy and filling. We also had the pan bread and it was so good. For dessert I had the mocha brownie and, OMG, it was incredible. Thank you for the delicious meal. The joke in our house, when we order through Uber, is- I wonder what this restaurant will screw up as we rarely get an accurate order from other other restaurants. read more

Stopped in here after long day of traveling, and the place was practically empty. We were sat promptly and as a big group we were served pretty quickly. They have the great variety of options on their menu, including plenty for vegetarians to choose from. I started with the sweet chili edamame which was fantastic.... Just the right mix of sweet and spicy. For my meal I went with their vegetarian pizza, it was just okay. Not bad, but nothing to brag about. The sauce was a little too tangy for my Italian taste. If you're familiar with Chili's or Applebee's, this is a similar concept. Overall, would I go back? Maybe.... but it definitely wouldn't be my first choice. read more

I have never had a problem with this location. I have allergies and they always accommodate me. No problems with the service. The ones I have had are nice, and always on top of their job. The restaurant can handle big parties, but it is nice if you call in advance to let them know so they can get your tables ready. Food is great. The decor is nice and the pictures are funny to look at and read, that they have hanging around the restaurant. read more

Absolutely great service, I bring my children here often and the service is beyond exceptional! I usually try to get the same server Jordan as his service is above and beyond, he is very polite, listens to the customers needs and wants and is very quick to take orders, grab drinks and refills and bring our food out piping hot! Jordan was our server today and was above and beyond as always! Also I would like to add that Tanner the cook made a great tasting meal while I was in restaurant today, my son and I are two happy, full and satisfied customers! I've been to Jack Astor's before, but this was my first time at the Stoney Creek restaurant. It was a letdown. The service was decent. Our server forgot that I wanted my dressing on the side, but that was minor. We had to ask for drink refills, but when we did they came promptly. But all during our meal, the word that kept running through my mind was "meh". The house salad was watery. The "Hold the Beef" burger was missing something -- flavour. The fries were salty, but somewhat soft. Our food simply fell flat. I don't know that I'd come back to this restaurant. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

This is a semi regular spot for me since it is close to my work. For the most part the service is pretty great. I have had one or two times the service hasnt been so good but it hasn't stopped us coming back. More so because when the service is good, its great! Perfect for after work drinks or a late date night for dinner. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The Garlic And Cheese Pan Bread is friggin amazing! Make sure to get bacon on it. Ordered the Pad Thai Big Bowl and wasn't disappointed. Good sized portion, quite filling and tasty. My wife ordered their famous chicken fingers and thought they were great. Service is quick and friendly (we came on a Saturday afternoon so it was quiet). Had dinner here last night and left full and happy with the service. My group started with their garlic pull apart bread and the lettuce wraps. The bread was absolutely delicious and the wraps were a nice light snack. I had the Brie burger which, although nothing special was still tasty, as well as the beer and cheddar soup, which was quite tasty. My party had the fish and chips (run of the mill) and another had pasta, which she didn't enjoy, but it was more of a preference thing. Overall the service was quick, attentive to refill drinks and the food was good. Ultimately nothing major to write home about, but certainly a nice place to go catch the game, drink and beer and have an app or two. read more

We choose this Jack's fairly often when we need an easy meal out with our toddler. We've always had a great experience. Tonight, we were busy around the house, so ordered via Skip the Dishes. When our food arrived, we were missing a kids pizza - the last thing you want to deal with when you have a two-year old, let alone a picky one like ours. He wasn't interested in either meal we had ordered. We've had missed dishes with Skip the Dishes before. Generally speaking, all you get is a refund on whatever was missing. Tonight was different. We called the restaurant directly and they located the pizza, which had been overlooked when the order was packed up. Ok, this is what caused me to write this review... the General Manager, KJ Santiago, actually got in his car and brought the pizza to us. Wow! Our toddler was happy because he got his pizza and we were thrilled because he stopped asking for it - and because wonderfully generous gestures like this are so rare - lucky us! Girlfriends meal: The steak was well cooked but lacked the spice they said they put on it. The mushrooms were very well done the sauce on it was wonderful the mashed potatoes were well done as well. The biggest problem with this plate was that it cost $22. Which isn't too bad for steak but for the quality of steak it was it was a pretty hefty price tag. My meal however was not nearly as good. I got the Texas roadkill burger which is "Cajun spiced" chicken, guacamole, and basic burger fix ins. I put quotations on the Cajun spice because it was pretty much just breaded chicken. The guacamole was decent but nothing special, the mayo was pretty good and tasted a little different than regular mayo in a good way. This only cost $14 but the lack of Cajun spice on it should have made it a chicken finger burger off the kids menu. The Korean chicken skewers were very good but again it was $13 for an appetizer which were 4 small skewers. The service was nothing to complain about. All in all the meal came to be about $65 and I left feeling less than satisfied so 2 out of 5 probably wouldn't go again. The value's just not right. read more

Started off the night waiting for someone to seat my friends and I for at least 8-10 minutes (I wish I was exaggerating). Once we were seated and ordered our food, all seemed fine. However, we soon witnessed two separate staff members (waitresses) in the back eating from a section filled with toppings and condiments. The first young lady went back multiple times taking spoonfuls of toppings. The second young lady picked up some topping (with her bare hands keep in mind) sprinkles them on an order, licked her fingers, and then continued picking up other toppings from the same area. When speaking to the manager he was nice enough to void our bill, however did not seem to concerned as he never asked which waitresses did this, or asked for any specifics. He said "what do you want from me?" And we simply told him we didn't plan on finishing our meal and wanted to leave, so he voided our bill. However he could have been more concerned about what happened so he could have investigated the situation. Overall it was a gross, horrifying experience. read more
