I've been to the other Mexican restaurants in town. There aren't too many dining options here without having to head into Carson, but options are decent. (Iykyk). We walked in and it was fairly busy. There were only two tables open and one for two off to the side near a window where we were seated promptly. The same girl that seated us offered drinks, chips and salsa. We were starving and snacking on the chips and salsa while looking over their menu. We decided that we were both hungry enough to order their super sampler to share as an appetizer. I ordered their empanada and chile relleno and my friend and my friend ordered a dos plato. Our food was served hot. We enjoyed our dinner and left with plenty of leftovers. I'd come back. I have a family recipe for the best red sauce, but when I don't feel like destroying my clean kitchen and getting Chile seeds all over my counter tops; I'll order cheese enchiladas in red sauce at our local Mexican restaurants. It did hit the spot, but I wasn't a fan of the beans. The rice was good and fluffy. Overall the red sauce and rice had a really good flavor. Carniceria Y Taqueria Mendoza, they have a location in Fallon, Sun Valley and now finally in Dayton, whoopee!! I can now get my costillitas de puerco, pork spare ribs in chile verdi!!! The people are great and happy to open in this location and so am I, the interior is nicely decorated and very inviting. The staff are wonderful but a little bit of a language barrier but that can easily be overcome, someone there will be able to speak english. Located directly behind the restaurant is the market stocked with a meat counter and a very good grocery store. This will be my go to spot since it's close to me and the food is fantastic.
