    Pozole ($12)

Chile relleno and pozole for the win! Rich in flavor and huge portions. Came here since my dad loves tamales. He got the beef and we got the pork: both alright. We will definitely call ahead of time for an order of the special tamales in the future, specifically the cheese and pepper. Love the house made tortillas! However, the tacos (pork, chicken, steak) all ok. Prices here are a steal. Hope they can keep them this way.

Love this restaurant , their food has been consistently great every time, other places may have raised their prices but in addition they've also shrunk their serving size as well, giving you a double whammy, very deceptive practice. This place hasn't done that, they've kept their portion size, hefty, even though they've had to raise their prices, but not unreasonably high, imo. The owner is a one woman show, she takes the order, makes the dishes, serves you and busses the table after also. The tiny area has three tables if you want to eat in, very spartan but functionally acceptable.

Definitely a hidden gem in the heart of Carson City. Delivers home made food and family vibes

    #10 plate

Ok, I would have never found this place without the Yelp reviews but oh my goodness, so glad I did. My husband and I ordered the #10 combo plate. He ordered pork and I ordered chicken. I ordered it without beans, I can do without refried beans but when he got his he had me try his beans. They were not refried. They were so well cooked, with such an amazing depth. Anyway, before I digress...... really yummy. Did I mention it was $10 a plate for a taco, enchilada and a tamale with beans and rice!!! I bought a dozen tamales to put in the freezer because..... Wow!! We do our fair share of traveling and finding authentic Mexican food is our jam and this place checks all the boxes. Felt like I was eating love and tradition. I'll be back whenever I am lucky enough to be back in the area..... If you look at any of my reviews you know I only give good ones. I am not ever going to give less than a great one which means I pretty much don't post reviews. Try this place. So very good.

We're three dudes from out of town on a snowboarding trip, and this is collectively our favorite restaurant now. Amazing deals on the dozen tamales. The tacos are also *chef's kiss*. And the service! Can't be beat. Such nice people. Don't forget to grab some homemade banana bread and a FREE donut!

The Lady Tamales came through during a Yelp search in the Dayton area as I was looking for a work week lunch spot. I do not believe i would have seen this restaurant in passing. I pulled in and upon going in there was another customer in line. I could hear someone in the back kitchen area stating, "be right with you" in a warm tone. The customer in front of me looked at me and said, "I hope it's good." I told her the reviews online showed favorable reviews. I liked that there were a variety of food options all with pictures to get a sense of quantity and portions. I ordered two tamales one pork and one beef and a sunkist beverage. The tamale flavoring was good it was just a too soft texture for me. I wouldn't mind coming back to try another dish as the service was very warm and welcoming.

THIS LOCATION IS OPEN! These are the best tamales I have ever eaten. We ordered pork and beef tamales..we shared a Three tamale combo, added one and asked for a side of beans because I don't care for rice. They split it on two plates. Owner came out and visited with us..told us she would be at taste of Carson City that night. They are closed on Sunday and Monday, but open the rest of the week. Wild little drive to get here..but WORTH IT. Keep this place going....it is just too great....

Does anyone know if they use vegetables oil or lard for their tamales?

Probably lard because their food is amazing, authentic Mexican food. Yummy. I live in Missouri so I bought extra tamales to bring home with me.

Ambiance: Relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with Mexican-inspired décor and cultural touches throughout the restaurant. There was a steady flow of guests, giving the place a lively but comfortable feel. Restrooms: Clean and decent, although a bit outdated. Service: Friendly but somewhat disorganized, possibly because we had a large group. The waitress initially told me the bartender was busy, but later realized she had never entered my drink order. She apologized and removed it from the bill. She also brought the wrong entrée for one of my friends but corrected it promptly. On a positive note, she graciously accommodated another friend's custom drink request even though it wasn't on the menu. Chips & Salsa: The first basket is complimentary. We were told additional baskets normally have a charge, but during our visit we were offered unlimited refills. Food: Fresh, authentic, and generously portioned. Recommended dishes: Salmon Atlántico, Fish Tacos, Artichoke Dip, Enchiladas, and Bistec.

It was just birria in a tortilla with cheese, and the tortilla was extremely hard and oily. The consome on the side was heated up on the warming tray, which was a shame because it was supposed to be a flavorful sauce. The rice and beans were also burnt and hard, which made the meal even more disgusting. I wouldn't come back here if my life depended on it. Whoever claimed this restaurant to be authentic was clearly not an authentic Hispanic. If this is authentic, then my microwave is a Michelin-star chef My younger brother had gotten the chicken quesadilla, and the chicken was flavorless. We also ordered the fiesta sampler, but the nachos were burnt. My mother got the carnitas fajitas, and the rice was hard, the beans were burnt, and the guacamole was warmed up as if it was warmed with the warming tray. That's how all the beans and rice were on every plate. The service was just okay. One of the women who served us was very nice, but the other lady was rude and seemed like she was rushing to get away. The ambiance was alright, but it didn't make up for the terrible food. 0 stars if I could.
