After driving around hungry, this Jack in the Box was on the way so we stopped by to get few things. First of all, as you walk in, there's a constant beeping from the cars in the drive through being there longer than they're supposed to be. There were 4 staff members behind the counter and not one said hello or acknowledged our presence. I looked at one person to place an order. He walked off to get another person without saying anything to us. Then another person came to take our order. We got... Large curly fries. Mini variety (fries, onion rings & mozzarella sticks) Chicken teriyaki bowl 2 Macadamia iced coffees The fries were the best part. The onion rings and mozzarella sticks were more doughy and not good at all. Chicken teriyaki was okay but not great. The rice was good but the sauce was too sweet over the chicken and broccoli. The Macadamia iced coffees were delicious! Although the staff were acting more like zombies than actual employees, there was one lady that seemed to be in charge or senior staff. She looked very stressed and compensated for all those employees who were just standing around doing nothing. Food wasn't great and the service is weird. They are way over staffed and it's clear that one person is under too much stress as she's making this place move. We really felt bad for her. read more

My relationship with Jack in the box goes back to when I was a kid in Detroit. We lived in the sticks in Michigan and were happy to go to Detroit where we could have exotic burgers from Burger Chef and Jack in the Box. Unfortunately, our first trip was soured by my brother getting stuck in a bathroom and constantly pulling on the handle making it impossible for the manager to unlock the door. This nonsense went on for about 15 minutes before my brother became too tired to pull on the handle allowing the manager to open the door. What does that have to do with this location? Absolutely nothing but it is what I think of. Aside from being in a beautiful location, not much going for this place. The drive through took about 15 minute at 11:15am on a Saturday with a mobile order. I tend not to review food at chains because of you don't like their chicken sandwiches, just go somewhere else. This was my first and last time to get a crispy chicken sandwich there. Coating and brined chicken was salty as hell. more so than Popeyes on McDonalds. The curly fries were great as usual. Went there on a Saturday morning. Went through the drive thru and got our packages. We should of checked because they forgot my sourdough sandwich. We had already left so we tried to calll from home to report it to them so they can refund our money for the sandwich. They did NOT answer the phone even though we called and let it ring for 15 minutes each time callled. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced. My mom stopped by this location after PT to pick up a quick lunch for us. When she got home, we realized they gave us two very different sandwiches from what we ordered. We tried to call the location 10 times but nobody picked up. Don't bother wasting your time and money here. This Jack in the Box has been around Niu Valley for a few years now. The location is a revolving door of fast food restaurants for years all the way back to when it was a KFC almost twenty years ago. I'm not sure how much long JITB is going to last here but for as long as it does, it'll be my go to place for Oreo Cookie Shakes and slightly unhealthy fried tacos. I say I'm not sure about the longevity of this place mainly because it's gotten fifty-some-odd reviews with only two stars yet every time I pass by, their drive thru is packed, cars are lined around the building. I usually walk in because I'm suspicious of drive thru in general ... it's harder to correct a mistake. Going in is nice. The restaurant is bright and very colorful. They've got those funny murals of Jack in Hawaii. It's usually clean and the soda area is well stocked. And because everyone else is in the drive thru, the lines are usually pretty short. The people are nice, very polite. Not really the most talkative bunch except with FPO ... although this is the person who talked to strangers for almost an hour while standing in the food line at The Pumpkin Patch in Waimanalo last November so that might have something to do with it. I don't really care for JITB burgers. It's the two tacos for a buck-thirty-nine (inflation - I remember when they were ninety-nine cents) and cookie shake that does it for me every time. First off my experience starts with a 5-10 minute wait at the order screen without any acknowledgement in an empty drive thru, then finally I get to order and before I even finished my order she's telling me my total to hurry me up... then when I wanted to add something no indication that she was listening so I say hello and all I hear is a bark back at me saying in a rude tone says yeah im listening. At this point I'm beyond frustrated and then we get to the window not even a friendly greeting just take the payment then I sit waiting another 5 minutes give or take. I receive my order and then I wait on my drinks. She gives me 3 of the 4 drinks ordered and I sit at window waiting for the last drink she reluctantly opens the window to ask if I need something and I said I had a large soda as well and she proceeded to tell me "no" so I try to show her the receipt and she kinda just gives this attitude like you're bothering me and reluctantly makes the last drink. She also called another employee over to open the window to ask if I needed something like I wasn't even worth her time. I finally get my last drink and leave cause of the terrible service that I received. Then I get home and my order is literally half of what I ordered. All I know is employee Pauline left a terrible impression on me and I would refuse to be serviced by her again. Very inexpensive place to get a quick bite. Offerings are similar to other JB franchise. Most notably improvement needed is they need to clean theirtables at regular intervals. Practically, every time I stopped by, I had to clean the table first. Update. Lowered one star for the messy tables. They need to have a person clean the tables more frequently. 4 cars in line waited terribly long for them to take care of one's in front could hear them laughing and giggling through the door from my car. Finally got up to the order placing window and waited over 5 minutes for someone to address me. Took my order waiting again longtime. Finally got to window to pay girl takes my card charges me waiting for food before she hands it to me she says your card was declined. So I let her take my card again. Pulled away from window just to check if I was double charged and I was stopped my car went back to window to let her no that she did in fact double charge me cause it showed on my bank account she flat out said she didn't had to get back in line and wait a long time for them to take 2 orders for other people explained the situation gave them back their food and still had to argue with them just to get a single refund minus the buttermilk they said they couldn't refund that although the package was untouched extremely rude and not customer oriented at all. Located at the Nui Valley Shopping Center................the same complex where you can find the following restaurants & convenience store - Le Bistro, Lung Fung Chinese Restaurant, Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant & 7-Eleven. I stopped by this Jack's for a quick morning bite...........and for you folks that don't know........... Looks like Jack's is trying to offer more items on their value menu deals? I went and got (2) Supreme Croissant Sandwiches for just $4.00 smackaz! Really gang............I mean how can you not like a croissant sandwich that has egg, cheese, ham, & bacon? Lol! I have never been so humiliated after being yelled at by this drive through server. After arriving at this drive through with no other cars in sight, we decided to order two breakfast jack sandwiches. No one on the intercom for about two minutes until we said hello anyone there? Someone finally came on and yelled I'm here What do you want to order? Omg Is that the way to treat a customer in that tone of voice? I finally gave her the order and then she said Is that all, then drive through!!! When I reached the register window, she refused to open her window until it was time to pay. She then opened the window and quickly took our CC, gave us our order and receipt and quickly closed the window. I couldn't believe I was so disrespectfully treated that way. I decided to return to the restaurant the very next day to complain to the manager. The manager's name is Marie and the rude server is Pauline Marie A. Ohh it actually looked more skimpy version of it. All the blue cheese crumbles were smacked in the middle of the burger and kinda smeared around a lil (didn't quite get to the edges). The bacon reminds me of the precooked pop in the microwave kinda bacon (thin & slightly crispy). Wifey wasn't impressed by it. She also didn't like that the picture in the ad showed what looked like grilled onions, but there were chunks of raw onions in it. I kinda liked it cause it was a cheap bacon blues burger. Health code violation.... woahhhhhhh!!! So we ordered halfsies (half regular fries/half curly fries), we were given regular fries... As we wait for the current transaction with a customer to finish, we start eating the fries in hand.... When that's done we explain that we ordered halfsies so she takes the fries, returns to the fries and dumps our picked through fries BACK into the fry station with all then others, MIXING out picked thru fries with all the fresh ones.... We ordered online for pickup, walked up to the restaurant, and a note posted that the dining room was closed due to insufficient workers. We then used the drive-thru service to pick up our order. We drove directly to the cashier window without stopping at the speaker order area as the order is placed and prepaid on the Jack Mobile App. The window was closed. Shortly, a cashier opened the window without a word but a stared. We told her that we were here to pick up our order. She then handed us our order and said: It is COMMON SENSE that you should stop at the order window first before approaching the pickup window. Then she slammed and closed the window. What an attitude towards customers! We felt offended. She could simply tell customers to stop at the order window first, to inform them that we are here to pick up an order so that she could have it ready at the pickup window. I've been to this Jack the Box location at least twice now. It's can be your stop on the way home for dinner options, a quick bite for lunch on your way to somewhere cool, or getting the day started with breakfast. It's nice to have this Jack in the Box location in the east Oahu area, even though there's one in Kaimuki/Kapahulu area too. I guess I like to change up locations a bit, so I decided to chime in here and see what's going on. I arrived here on a brisk Sunday afternoon around 5pm. The Niu Valley shopping center was pretty much dead, since there was no cars in the spacious parking lot, but a few that were parked at the 7-Eleven next to the eastern side of the shopping center. There was a line at the Jack in the Box drive thru , but that's about it. There was a sign on the entrance that says they're open for take out only, which very helpful for anyone like me who travels without a personal vehicle. With that said, I ordered my meal up on the trusty Jack in the Box app, which often times have special deals and menu items for anyone who uses the app and generally not available in the restaurant. After waiting about 10 minutes, I entered the restaurant to pick up my meal. It was eerie to see majority of the dining area curtained off and blocked for anyone to use to eat and relax. The restaurant itself was clean and it was nice to see the staff here at Jack in the Box laughing while working to serve the customers. I'm glad that they are open for service, even though we can't sit down inside the restaurant and enjoy our meals. The overall experience here at this Jack in the Box location was really touch and go. With the rise of mobile ordering, you can really skip out the waiting for your food inside the restaurant and just go and pick up. I did enjoy the ambiance of this Jack in the Box. Only thing about this location, as I am sure it is with every other place during the 2020 pandemic, is that they won't let you use their restrooms - which is understandable. There is air conditioning here, but couldn't really feel it. The service here was nice and friendly, while quick and accurate. This Jack in the Box location is located at 5722 Kalanianaole Highway in the Niu Valley district in east Oahu. It's basically in between Aina Haina and Hawaii Kai. They accept major credit cards in the restaurant but only one if you are using the mobile app. They also accept cash as well. As far as parking goes, you probably would be surprised at how much parking spots there is, but they share with the other merchant tenants as well as the Grace Church on property. If you are like me, TheBus routes 1, 1L, 22, 23, and 24 come through the area and stop at or nearby the Niu Valley shopping center, where Jack in the Box is situated/ They have a drive thru also for your conveience. My favorite go to meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner would be the munchie meal for sure. It sells for $7 and comes with a drink. $.25 more if you upsized the drink instead of the small to medium. Jack in the Box's medium sized cup is basically the same as McDonald's large sized cup. My favorite sandwich of choice would be the stacked grilled cheeseburger followed by the spicy nacho cheese sandwich. There are other great options here, including breakfast. The great thing about Jack in the Box is their commitment to not making something till you order it. It's really a great thing that I love about them. You an have breakfast whenever you feel like it and lunch or dinner items at breakfast time! The combinations are really up to you. It's quite fantastic when you're not limited on items just because it's a certain time of day at most other restaurants and eateries. Jack in the Box has you covered there! If you are in the area and craving some Jack in the Box, consider coming here for your next dose of tacos or curly fries. Located in Nui Valley Shopping. I like this location. It's much bigger than the other ones. It has nice bathrooms and friendly service. Lots of parking. Free refills. 4 stars instead of 5 because I leave the drive thru missing something small/not as important every once and a while. Two months ago, it was 2 out of 6 tacos. ($1) and the 4 buttermilk's we ordered (.25 ea / $1 total) Today it was the small fruit punch that came with my munchie meal order.. I mean there's other times too but I rather not get into it. Or I ask for extra hot sauce packets and receive none or I review ketchup packets... One big plus though, I ordered a salad for later. Anyways, it was freshly made to order. Rude manager. If you don't enjoy working or interacting with customers then you should NOT be in the food service industry. Whole interaction at the counter with the lady who was the manager gave unnecessary attitude. Throughout the whole process of using our coupons to receiving our order she was unhappy and rude. We had multiple bags and drinks and didn't offer a holder for the drinks, when we asked nicely she talked back in her native language and unwillingly handed us the holder. Stopped by for late night drive thru around 11:30 pm recently. The customer service was downright terrible. Put in my order, the worker confirmed it and mumbled something at the end. I'm used to the order and the total bill showing up on the screen, but nothing happened. I sat there for a moment and the worker said, "you can drive forward sir." I proceeded to ask what the total is so I know how much to pay. She got exasperated, raised her voice and insisted that I "just drive forward." Taken aback, I decided right then and there to cancel my order. She nonchalantly responded "okay" and did not seem to care at all. No apology or explanation. Although I was looking forward to indulging in a late night snack, it wasn't worth overcoming someone with a horrible attitude and zero customer service skills. Instead, I decided to make my own food at home. After this one star experience, I won't be back and will continue to patronize other businesses that value and appreciate their customers. P.S.
