I've been in here once before, and it was good. But this time it was weird. Don't get me wrong,…read morebut what did get was good but .......well here's what happened. I ordered the luncheon flautas. Standard stuff, beef, flautas, beans, rice, guacamole, sour cream. It took a very long time to get my order when I got it. There was four tacos that had barely any meat in them, but the tortilla was cooked perfect. The beans were a soupy mess all over my plate. It was not Spanish rice. It was the type that's cooked with sazon & chicken broth. No guacamole. And the sour cream look like bubbly milk soup !! i asked the waitress and she didn't speak any English at least all of a sudden she didn't. I showed her the picture of the lunch special and she tells me in Spanish that they don't have guacamole, but she will bring me an avocado. So here I am with this avocado, making my own guacamole to go with my flautas. I got some pico de gallo and some salsa from their Salsa bar to complete the task. But like I said, the food tasted good even my homemade guacamole. But not those those soupy refried beans. Well, they got to me they were just OK and the rice was just OK. The taquitos were tasty with the guacamole I made. But like I said, it was just a weird experience.

Simply stunning original takes on Mexican food Can't…read morerecommend this place enough. I eat here almost every time I come to El Paso Portions are large, prices are very reasonable. Best tasting crickets I've ever had. If they had a $10 bowl of just them, I'd order it.

Let me start by saying that the ELEMI restaurant in Eastlake is definitely a step above your…read moreaverage Tex-Mex taqueria in El Paso and, in my opinion, a much stronger culinary experience than the Elemi taqueria in Cimarron. The restaurant offers a cozy contemporary feel with a minimalist modern touch. The white oak and high ceiling also contributes to a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Right from the start, I loved the presentation of the Pepino--refreshing, creative, and unlike anything I've seen elsewhere. The Aguachile Callo de Hacha was outstanding, easily one of the highlights of the evening. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend ordering the following tacos - Campesino ($7) and the Pato al Pastor ($8); both are packed with original flavors and showcase the chef's creativity. Their Jamaica drink is also excellent and pairs beautifully with the food. Chef Emiliano Marentes has deservedly earned national recognition and James Beard acclaim, which naturally creates high expectations before you even walk through the door. So that is always creating an issue as many of us expect perfection. The restaurant was moderately busy, with some people waiting to be seated. The biggest disappointment, however, was the pace. We waited approximately 25 minutes for our food despite the restaurant not appearing especially full. Then came the most unexpected wait of the evening--the restroom. Standing in line for more than 15 minutes just to use the bathroom is something I've never experienced at a restaurant. That took away from what had started as a very enjoyable evening. Service was efficient without any fluff. Overall this is a solid 4.0/5.0.

Great flavor, not dry, pretty inexpensive considering how things are nowadays. 5 tacos, two aqua frescas came out to $22, and some change. The bad: It did take a while to even get drinks once we sat. We were asked several times what we ordered to drink and still brought us the wrong drinks. There were two cooks and 3 people working the floor and seemed to be a bit much for them. BUT I will say that they stayed calm and professional. Didn't seem to have attitudes at all. They were very friendly with customers and did what they could with the resources they had. I will come back again once they have established themselves. But if you are looking for good tacos, loaded fries, or quesadillas, this is a spot to try.

While I sat and waited to get my order saw the employees very attentive of the customers and others sweeping. The place was very clean. I felt a little gluttonous ordering 4 tacos but glad I did cause they are tiny. The cost here is per taco. That said they are a bit pricey given the size. With that said. The quesabirria was delicious. Very well seasoned broth too. The tripitas were crispy the way I ordered. The carne asada costra was so good too. Lastly was the al pastor..probably my least favorite. Not for any particular reason simply the others were better. The salsas were both delicious. The red one was spicier and great flavor. I also ordered the carne asada fries and those wereMy only recommendation to the owners would be a salsa bar with the option to add your own toppings. The portion of onion and cilantro I got was enough for maybe half my order.I will be returning and bringing my taco lover friends too.
