First of all I wanna say shoutout to the whole restaurant for being super nice, clean, Food was phenomenal. I was recommended a Lunch meat pick 2, Brisket and rib tips with a side of Wilbur beans, that cornbread is great. My server named Ivan I believe he said it was his first day! Well WOW!!! We went to Famous Dave's for a birthday celebration. It was a huge disappointment. We made a reservation and were seated promptly in the loudest room imaginable with two other large groups. It was so loud that you could not hear the person next to you. The rest of the restaurant was sparse and we would have preferred another spot. We arrived and ordered quickly. We received our food 1 hour later and missing a kid's meal. What took so long? No explanation about the wait. The food was below average. Dry and flavorless chicken. Cool french fries. Our water glasses remained unfilled for an hour. Overall, the experience was disappointing and the food was worse than fast food. El Paso has improved its food game and these types of lackluster establishments are starting to become more outliers - fortunately. read more

We decided to check this place out again after several years! I was super impressed, we got the Feast for 2, and it was excellent! The brisket, ribs and chicken were cooked to perfection and the home fries, coleslaw, corn on the cob and beans were on point! The best part was the sweet cornbread! 3 meat combo meal for lunch 2pm. Not exactly the busiest time, so maybe not the freshest cooked to order meat is to be expected, but challenges like this need to be met to rise above the rest. St Louis Ribs: tired, flavorless, super super lean, been sitting around. Good BBQ flavor though so 2 stars Brisket: super lean. Not going to win any awards. Just ok BBQ Chicken: juicy, very good! We went on 7/5/26, we went to celebrate my daughters bday and to watch the soccer World Cup Mexico vs England. To our surprise it was almost empty plenty of servers though. Unfortunately our server was either new or simply didn't care to serve properly since we were a big party of 12 and gratuity is automatically added. One appetizer was wrong had to take it back, three of our dinner plates had wrong sides and when we told her she was upset. She never came to check for drink refills cause she was watching the game, literally no joke. My daughter went to interrupt her watching and asked her for refills and she just gruntedunfortunately the food was below average, all the meats were dry. I've got to say the sides and the cornbread muffins we delicious. Then at the end server charged one dinner plate to many. Very disappointed. It was a happy occasion and the game was good so we made the best of it. Sadly I will not be back unless I can't avoid it. read more

I've eaten some of the best barbecue this country has to offer. I will never equate any chain restaurant barbecue with the likes of Franklin BBQ in Austin or Scott's BBQ in South Carolina. There is no comparison. But as chain BBQ goes, Famous Dave's is really good. The spare ribs have good moisture and flavor. The meat pulls from the bone but not all at once. The chopped pork was nice and smoky and perfectly paired with their Cole slaw. Even the beans were good with house smoked sausage. Yes, it's a chain but Famous Dave's is at the top of that kind of BBQ. Support your local BBQ joints but this is a nice option for game day or a quick meal to take home. read more

We have been here many times and I always ordered the Georgia Chopped pork. It will be a long time before I try this restaurant again. The pork sandwich was nothing but fat and skin. I had about three spoonfuls of meat if that. I have never left hungry and today I can say it was as I never ate. This is just an example of how some employees will go out of their way to not accommodate a customer and take things wayyyyy too personal. I ordered delivery and I didn't have anywhere to request additional condiments. Mind you I've been going to this location as long as it's been opened. I call to ask if they can please add the condiments and Marisela went out of her way to make it impossible for me to get my order with her threatening me about charges in the future! Like she literally called me back to my cell phone to tell me that i will need to pay $2 after they didn't have onions, pickles, and rib tips. Something this restaurant should always have! This place is ok but not the best in this town (El Paso) or region. We went yesterday for Father's Day and our party of three ordered the meat combo meal for 2-3. For the $, it's A good deal but don't expect a heavenly experience. For one, their ribs, which are beef, were under cooked and mostly bone. I was craving ribs and ordered 6 more than what normally comes. What a waste! Texas Roadhouse has better! The Mac n cheese was ok; I've never had them with pieces of corn and green onion. One hair okay. But TWO. That's intentional! I'm guessing this was because it's the day after Christmas. Perhaps the servers were tired. Me and my family were excited to eat here especially since I wanted to redeem my birthday dessert because I love dessert. The server was okay, she looked annoyed that she had to serve us. Okay, fine we went about our dinner just fine. When it came to dessert I asked about the birthday dessert and she came back and said no it was just icecream. Okay, that's fine! I must have misunderstood my "birthday gift" on my app. I still asked out of curiosity what "up to $11" meant and another server passing by said it was a birthday dessert of my choosing. So I chose the bread pudding to go cause we had already finished eating. She drops off the vanilla icecream. My daughter and sister in law find a hair. We grossed out but left it. we didn't make a big deal because it was free. So then she brings my to go dessert which I am barely pulling out of the fridge READY TO ENJOY after eating about half I noticed another hair embedded in the pudding. Came here for lunch the on 6/23/2024. If it had been busy, I might have let some of these things go but there was hardly anyone there. It was the most disappointing experience ever. To start :It took ten minutes for our server to come to our table. Not even for a quick greeting. I had to go and ask the host stand if we could get some water. Meal 1: One of my party ordered a coconut margarita but it came without coconut flavor. The server blamed the new bartender which I normally would've let slide but it was the beginning of terrible orders. The fries with her meal were Super Soggy. Meal 2: Burger was ordered well, well, well done. No pink. The burger came back pink. Not just a little pink either. They remade it but it took 20 minutes. Meal 3: The meat place was supposed to come with a corn muffin. The server noticed and said she would bring it. It had to be asked for 3 times before she brought it. Same with the tea. Glass sat empty for 15 minutes before she came near enough that another could be asked for. Meal 4: There was a HAIR in the brisket sandwich. She said she would get it remade. She brought out a pork sandwich instead . When that was pointed she just said oh, they must have thought your original sandwich was pork because you had bbq sauce on it. WHAT. That's the weirdest excuse. She walked away quickly and did not offer to bring the correct sandwich. Luckily it was taken off the bill. read more

We were on our way home from vacation and ordered take-out. I ordered the brisket meal with onion strings. I asked for the brisket sliced thin near the fatty area and the onion strings crispy. I got 99% unedible fat for brisket and the onion strings were not nearly fried enough of the little I got. We also ordered the rib tips which were very dry and inedible. I had a great experience at famous Dave's bar-b-cue for lunch. We were immediately seated and greeted by our server Kelsey. My friends and I ordered from the lunch menu. I had the Texas beef brisket sandwich and my friends ordered award winning ribs. Their Cole slaw was seriously good. The food was out extremely fast. Everything was at the table very quickly, the food tasted great. Kelsey the server was on top of everything, refilled our drinks without asking, cleared the plates, this young lady was all over it. What impressed me the most was the Mgr, Jazmin, coming out introducing herself. She worked that dining room along with her employees. For me, that's always a triple plus. I'm just kind of drawn to Famous Dave's. Their cornbread is a drug, I'm addicted and I have no plans to seek help. They have a barbeque lover's dream assortment of sauces right their at the table (although they have some other varieties in the back like the Pineapple something or other). It's a casual barbeque kinda place... not yo' momma's barbeque, but still pretty good. My fiance and I aren't always the luckiest when we come to this FD, but it hasn't stopped us. We've had some snooty and bad servers and event hostesses, but in those instances the manager stepped in and made it up to us. The manager is actually a really great guy, he's never afraid to step in when another hand is needed. Regardless, since I feel as though the manager can handle any situation and never lets us leave with a bad taste in our mouth, I chalk up the few instances to the simple fact that sometimes it's just hard to find good help. I really like the food though. Obviously the cornbread is my absolute favorite. It's sweet and has a nice crust. Just too damn good! The rib tips are my go to, but I haven't really had anything here that wasn't good. And they've added a few new things to the menu like their melted cheese appetizer. We'll keep making a trip here and there to FD. Good barbeque in a sports bar-like environment. Service is a little iffy, but they'll fix any issues you may have. read more

We had dinner Friday evening. We ordered the feast for two, and had the brisket, ribs and chicken. Our meal was delicious and we had so much food left over I will be having brisket for lunch this coming week. Priscilla our server was great and waited on us hand and foot. Everything was good about my experience here except the brisket was a bit tough. No excuse for that at a good Texas BBQ place. Brisket should be tender and flakey. Everything else in my meal was great and my waitress was excellent. Good drink menu with fair pricing. Nice atmosphere. I'll try it again to see if they were just having an off day with brisket. This is my first time to visit Famous Dave's! And it's during the takeout only social distancing time. I was very impressed with their BBQ. I got the three meat combo to treat myself, as I have been eating many of my meals in my hotel room. The brisket, rib ends, and chopped pork were all delicious. The beans were some of the best I've ever had. The Mac n Cheese would have been better with a little smoke! I could only eat about half of it, so I have plenty for another meal today! The slowest Famous Dave's in El Paso. Expect super slow service for both dine in and take out. Customer service is awful. They quoted me 25 minutes for my order to be ready. And I arrived at the restaurant in 30 minutes. And the employees stated nobody can help check me out even though my order is ready and I just need to pay. They stated there is only one person that handles to go orders and they are the only person that can check me out. 15 minutes later this skinny dude comes out walking super slow with a drink in their hand looking like he just woke up after I'm just sitting here waiting on him. I'm always game to trying new foods and places, and tend to favor small businesses over large chains. That being said, Famous Dave's BBQ is one of those places that I'd go to anywhere in the country!
