The Jack-in-the-Box food chain is also a favorite of mine. This location is typical of a Jacks. Nothing special and nothing horrible. The inside looks maintained and the drive-thru isn't too long of a wait. After a good work out at CORP across the street, you can annul the calories burned with a tasty, unhealthy meal at Jacks. The only problem I have with this location and I guess at multiple Jack locations is that there's sometimes a language barrier between the patron and the employee taking the order. So you have to repeat yourself multiple times. This is just something that I just laugh at. No biggie for me. One of my friends tried ordering the Jumbaco meal but they kept telling him that they don't have that. I guess they don't watch their own commercials. We had to resort to the Jumbaco's alias called the Jumbo Deal instead... It's kinda mean, but a good laugh. JUMBACO! JUMBACO! JUMBACO! Go watch the commercial on youtube if you don't know what I'm talking about. My favorites over here are the really big chicken sandwich, extreme sausage sandwich, mini churros, and sourdough jack. Don't know what happened tonight, but I went to this drive thru at 9:10pm and I sat in my car waiting for someone to reply to me on the intercom for over 15 minutes. Then to top it all off, after I had finally had enough of wasting my time and being ignored, I drove off, only to see them taking the next cars' orders less than a minute later. I honestly wish I could give it less than one star. The staff seems pretty nice but they always mess up something on my order. Today I ordered a sriracha burger combo but substituted a drink for a milkshake. I ordered the peppermint oreo and she repeated it back perfectly. My receipt was even accurate, however I got a plain oreo shake and the staff insisted that is what I ordered and refused to give me a new one. I normally don't have any issues with this location besides their drive through never being friendly. However today Roseann took my order. Didn't verify if my order was correct on the screen didn't tell me the total. Just "next window". I get to the next window and I believe her name was Kaitlyn. She had a smile was really sweet and polite. I have never seen her before so she must've been new. I check my order like I usually do & I noticed my #14 had regular fries when I requested curly (I also had an additional side of curly fries so there should've been 2 in the bag but there was 1 regular/1 curly). So I let kaitlyn know & said "I'm so sorry I asked for curly fries there are regular fries in here". She takes the bag back and informs Roseann that the order is incorrect. Roseann rolls her eyes & starts yelling "there's curly fries in there". I responded there's only one. She proceeds to raise her voice as if I can't hear her and again says "THERES CURLY FRIES IN THERE" with an attitude. I responded "for the crispy tenders the meal, it should be curly fries there are regular fries in there". Roseann then rolls her eyes. Starts rummaging through the bag WITH HER BARE HANDS! NO GLOVES AT ALL!! & yells to the back "CURLY FRIES". She then EATS one of the regular fries straight out of the bag and wipes her hands on her pants. I ask who's number it is & she says me her name is "Arlene". This entire time Roseann doesn't apologize or make eye contact. She's just shouting out loud as Kaitlyn and I are requesting information. I call multiple times and it has a busy tone and screeching at the end of the ringing. Not only was Roseann rude but she was UNSANITARY. The pandemic isn't over and covid cases continue to rise & it's probably because of people like Roseann who don't wear gloves and clearly don't give af about their customers/their job/their health/their career. This was such a disgusting experience and it makes me never wanna support this or any location if all they hire is careless rude unsanitary employees. Before I get into the awkwardness of it all, the things I find appealing about this Jack In The Box are that they don't try and act all modern and hip like the new McDonalds. It's the same place it was when I first came here. "If it works, we keep it working" should be the slogan for this location. Also, I really like their outdoor tables when the weather is nice. However, I had a very interesting conversation with an employee that may change the tides at this Jack In The Box. We were having a company meeting, and I wanted water. I go over to the employee at the register to get a cup for water and forgot that my microphone was on. The employee than asked me if I wanted something to eat. I told him no because I was short on money. Then he asked what kind of job I had, and I told him I farm. Dropped by for a quick bite on a Saturday night. Drive thru looked pretty busy so we parked and went inside. Only one other customer in front of us. His order took over 5 minutes. The manager was on the phone talking story. She was so loud we all knew it was not a work related call. After the only other customer paid for his order, the cashier left leaving only the manager at the front (still on the phone). I was getting irritated and just looked at the manager hoping she'd get off the phone and take our order, but she kept on talking. I couldn't wait any longer, and said "this is bs, I ain't waiting any longer". You think that would have an effect on the manager? The best thing about "Jack in the Box" is of course the fact that they are open 24 hours. The food is decent, but the menu has changed quite a bit. One upsetting menu change for me was that they no longer serve "Mozzarella Sticks". Yah I'm one of those people that come home late and say "I want cheese sticks at 2am! The prices did raise slightly as well, but that is expected everywhere as time passes. The bright side is their new "Munchie Meals" that offer a deluxe sandwich or nuggets with "halfsie" fries, two tacos, and a drink for $7.00. Every time I go there it's always a bad situation. Waiting for 20 minutes in the drive thru because only one person is working the front. They always forget something I've ordered and it's not worth my time to drive back there to resolve it. They never answer their phone so you can address any of these issues. I usually come here late at night via drive through. I can't believe all the other negative reviews because I've always been happy with the service and food here. The drive through is fast. There could be a line with people fulfilling their late night munchies, but it doesn't take too long. I usually get a breakfast jack on sourdough bread with buttermilk and a small curly fries. I was super excited to eat their new guacamole bacon chicken sandwich. Of course when you put the ingredients in the name it should be the star. As far as food goes this location is about average. Left the bacon off one burger, didn't mark any of the boxes so we had to sort through them to determine who's burger was whose. The drink machine in the dining room didn't have any ice when we arrived and was never refilled while we were there. I come here about 2 to 3 times a week with my girlfriend. It's really convenient for us. We have had a bit of mistakes here and there but nothing too bad. Sometimes I have a hard time understanding order takers from the drive thru if they have heavy accents but it's never really a problem if I just say "I'm sorry?" they'll repeat it with no problems. This particular day it happened and the order taker sounded pretty irritated with having to repeat what she was saying and yelled which didn't help at all because it wasn't the volume in her voice that i needed her to raise I needed her to sound a little more clear due to the accent. I'm pretty sure she was one of the managers because I saw at the window that she wasn't dressed the same way as the crew. If I could rate this no stars I would. This place used to be good. Now if you go, whether they are busy or not, you are asked to pull over (to a parking lot with limited to NO parking) to wait for your food. I'm not talking just asking one customer to pull over, it's ALL customers. Once you pull over, the wait time is usually 10 minutes or more, and more often than not, the order is wrong and the food is old. This review is based on speaking with several people around Kapolei and Ewa Beach, in addition to my own experience. It's a shame this restaurant has gone as downhill as it has. Unfortunately, the one in Kunia is not much better. Because of this, I no longer go to either Jack in the Box and warn other people about the problems.
