Rocky's is still the Heart of Old Waipahu!! Oh man... so good!! I always miss Rocky's Coffee Shop. Every time I come back, it's like stepping right into my Hanabada Dayz - riding bike around Waipahu, stopping by Big Way or the bike shop for fishing gear, and seeing Rocky's packed with locals from the neighborhood. There's just something comforting about that kind of nostalgia. The old school photos of Waipahu on the walls really take you back in time the moment you walk thru the doors. The food? Exactly what you'd hope for from a true mom & pop diner. Breakfast plates and House Specials come with coffee, hot tea, small juice, or even hot chocolate. Such a great value! The service is always friendly and down-to-earth, with that real family vibe that makes you feel right at home. I always stick to their breakfast menu (served all day), and it never disappoints. The portions are just right, and the flavors hit just like I remember. Still the same good 'ole Rocky's... yay! Oh ya and I have to say, they have THE BEST pancakes!! Give them a try! :)

Just a good local spot for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Such reasonable prices and supporting a small local restaurant. Seating available or takeout as well. The hot cake was huge and fluffy and delicious!! The cheeseburger was a simple burger at a good price point. Must try since they have a ton of different foods to try!!

This place is an old school establishment. Lots of regulars. We shared a loco moco, kim cho fried rice omlette, and a banana short stack. Food was delicious and great value for the price. Service was great and friendly. Too bad we do not live in the area if not we would come here often.

Maybe don't look for this necessarily, because there's a tent out front, but this is the sign

I canNOT stress enough the importance of places like this enough! Places like Rocky's Coffee Shop are a real life look in to the history of Hawaii as told by food. You walk in and there's a quaint dining room that probably seats 25 or so. The main centerpiece of the interior, set off to stage left of the shot is the 10 foot hot, flat grill! The smells that are coming from there can't be summed up in words. Sure, I can tell you what the meats they were but it's more about the feelings they conjured up. Rows of bacon, squished under a cast iron press. Hash browns sizzling to the perfect crisp. Fluffy eggs forming their shape. All the auntys there are so nice. You can tell they've been working there for years. They know the menu by heart. Service the way it used to be done! All the people eating there have the same spots that they always assume when they come. And if you stay long enough, or come at the right time, you watch the crowds change. The early crowd features the kupunas. They read their papers. Listen to the radio. Talk about bus schedules. The later crowd has the younger generations. Adults with baby faces and babies. The generation that had grown up eating here. Prices aren't the best, but it takes a lot to keep a place like this open. So PLEASE... come and eat. Enjoy the flavors that can only be made made from a grill that's cooked meats for decades, the same way. And always remember, though the flavor is unforgettable, it's more about the moments that you're sure to have that you'll never forget at a place like this! A must visit. MUST KEEP ALIVE!

Me and my gf went here for the first time on March 27th, 2026. Our food was absolutely perfect, I got the loco moco with 3 eggs on a bed of fried rice. It was excellent, 10/10. The service was great and the restaurant gives the old school Oahu vibes that I miss. High recommend this breakfast spot to any braddahs and sistah who wanna taste an old school Oahu classic. Absolutely fantastic

Was craving pancakes and was recommended this place. Ordered the banana pancakes and was not disappointed! Will def be back for them if I get the craving for pancakes.

Smoke meat fried rice omelette this was on their special menu.

So me and my friend went here because he hasn't been in a long time. The wait wasn't that long I think we wanted less the 5 minutes. We had a very nice waitress. The inside is very cool they have all these old pictures Waipahu with dates on them which I thought was very interesting especially to see how everything was back in the day. Anyways so I had the smoke meat fried rice omelette and I wanted banana pancakes but they ran out so I just got a short stack. I got to say the omelette was delicious so was the pancakes hopefully the next time I go they have bananas.

Breakfast in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii... Sometimes, I'd drive past Rocky's Coffee Shop and see a crowd outside, waiting on the sidewalk, under the red pop-up tent... There's even a bench outside for those wanting to get in... Wow... Must be a good place, right? Located on the busy Waipahu Depot Road, there's free street parking and a free parking lot in front of the popular Waipahu Festival Marketplace. Be careful not to park in reserved stalls for the neighboring building. I walked into the cozy, old-school diner, looked for a worker, and signaled to her that I just needed one seat. She motioned to me to have a seat at the counter... perfect! I was fascinated by the cook at the grill. He was awesome! I watched his skills - cracking eggs open, delicately turning the Vienna sausage, making fried rice, creating banana pancakes, etc - and occasionally taking a sip of Pepsi or popping a bit of bread into his mouth! LOL! I also enjoyed his humming along to the music! I ordered Hamburger Steak plate with tossed salad (instead of macaroni salad). It came with two scoops of white rice... perfect! The three Hamburger patties were thin and tender without gristle! The aunties were friendly and chatted with regular customers. Several of them - and the cook - checked on me. Thank you for the hospitality and comfort food! It would be better for me if there was more air-conditioning, but that's minor. I appreciate the reasonable prices and Ohana Spirit!

Simple breakfast but it was good. The place was quaint. The clientele looked like local folks who seem to eat there regularly. Server was nice and knew her customers.

What can I say about Rocky's coffee shop . It's been years that I came to eat here . Good to see that they're still thriving after all these other restaurants closing . I remember way back in the old days my friends and I use to ride our bikes from Makakilo to Waipahu just to eat Rocky's hamburger steak . Today I ordered their Hamburger steak and it was good like way before . Just the hamburger shrunk a little LOL ! 3 homemade beef patties w/ grilled onions and rice w/Mac salad it was very good . My brother in law had their waffles he said it was good . Service was nice and friendly and the goal games out quickly Support local

Overall, the lilikoi pancake was the best! I didn't too much favor the chocolate taro-haupia or the cookie butta lava. The Kalua pork omelette was good, but I wish there was more meat inside. All the portions were very generous. The only thing we didn't like was that everything was overloaded with onions. And I LOVE onions, but even I thought it was too much. For that reason, my family didn't care too much for their meals. Overall, we had a fair experience. Seating is a little tight, but we were still comfortable. The only inconvenience was the bathroom on the top floor, which can be difficult when you have little kids.

But our second time was a mellow Wednesday for lunch and while the timing was better (still not synced), the food was either meh or completely shameful. Yes, shameful! Wife got the Caesar salad with char siu chicken katsu. The chicken was ono but the salad was lazy. Basic greens with a low-quality bottled sauce squeezed on top. No wonder it came out five minutes before mine. I got the fish tacos with tots (extra $2), and this dish was the most egregious rip off I've ever seen in a restaurant. No wonder the server dropped it and ran. For $18, I got three street taco-sized flour tortillas, goopy mayo-laden "slaw", and pico with a teeny tiny piece of fish on top. See the pics! Smaller than my thumb. Barely two tater tots in size. And because it was plopped into mayo slaw, it was soggy on arrival. The fish was also suspiciously fishy tasting. I debated eating it. I ended up making one taco with all the fish and a potato taco with some tots before finally giving up. I know things are tough for restaurants right now. But this was ridiculous. I paid and left and called it a lesson learned. I'll likely stick to the Pucks Alley location from now on. Still some pride in what they serve there.

We specifically came out to support our friend who was the musical talent providing the live entertainment from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Our reservation was at 5:30 PM, and the vibe was so good that we stayed all the way until 9:00 PM. Because we arrived during the last 30 minutes of happy hour, we immediately ordered a major spread of pupus from the Pau Hana menu. We shared the lechon style brussel sprouts, hand-cut fries, steamed shrimp & pork won tons, scallion bread, and fish tacos. Every single bite was delicious. I paired the food with a Hana Koa Roof Top Pale Ale from their local drafts list, which was crisp and excellent. After happy hour wrapped up, I moved on to the dinner menu and ordered the Half Pound House Burger and fries for my entree. The burger was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. Overall, the food and ambiance were absolutely outstanding, and the service was prompt, attentive, and friendly from start to finish. The noise level was perfectly moderate, letting us enjoy both the live music and our own conversation. We had a great time and will absolutely be back!

Underrated local dinner spot…read more The entry to this restaurant is so easy to miss because it's so narrow and it blends in so well with everything. I don't know if they want to keep it hidden, but I guess you could consider it that. We went in on a Saturday night with reservations and I highly recommend it since the place was full when we went in and more people kept wanting to come and eat. Service was great from beginning to end, I especially love that everyone accommodated my stroller and my baby. There were four of us and we each got something different, but to start I highly suggest the steamed shrimp and pork wontons and the lechon style Brussels - I would've double-ordered those for my entree if I could have! For entrees we ordered the garlic noodles, misoyaki butterfish, seared catch-of-the-day, and the burger. They were all amazing, and after we all started letting each other try we started making our own "flights" because everything just hit different spots and flavor profiles. In summary, this is one of those places that doesn't care about aesthetics, the decor is casual, but the food is soooo ono. They focus all their energy on food and service, and that makes a winner winner chicken dinner in my book.
