Stopped by for lunch today, i was worried since i didn't see the yellow truck but I learned it was replaced by a red truck! The truck is still in the same place, in the Pearlridge shopping center parking lot along Kamehameha highway where the old sears and zippys used to be. Bring cash. They charge a lot to use cards here. Woman at the register wasn't that friendly but I'm from Cali so it's whatever. As long as the food is good - she is just taking my order and handing me food. Also!! It's not located inside the mall. It's WAY down toward the edge of the 99. Near where it was the old sears building is what I have been told by my local friends. Across the street you can see the T mobile and AT&T stores. It's just a little food truck and we are thankful we finally found the correct location. The tacos are delicious. They are smaller street sized tacos but are stuffed with meat. They have the perfect amount of cheese, onions and cilantro. We ordered the Mexican roulette and had so much fun. Then we found the firecracker and wowza. The flavor was so good but the heat burnt off all my taste buds. We all tried it. It's hot and not an enjoyable one. I could drink the consume. I got the 12 pack as well as thesis Fresca and my gf got horchata. Upon arriving, they had a pretty good line but that line moved quick. I place my order and they give you a beeper. Be ready to wait in the sun because it is a food truck. They have tables where some are in shade while others aren't. Even if you can't get a table, we did not wait very long. Maybe 10 minutes max after placing our order. The food was ok. I was expecting better but it was still good. The birria queso is not spicy at all so if you want spicy, you might want to try the hell fire. The drinks were ok. My gf and I both did not like the agua Fresca. It just tasted weird. The horchata was good in my opinion. My gf did not like the horchata but I did. They also have the option to add strawberry into it but I did not do that. If you're wanting to get full here then go for the 12 pack because I myself had to eat 6 to get full. I'm a 5'6" guy at 210lbs so took 6 tacos for me to feel full. Overall, i personally will be back but not anytime soon. I don't crave Mexican food often but I was wanting birria tacos and this hit the spot so I should be good for a while. Oh and I would recommend eating it right at the pearlridge parking lot. My food got cold quick. I drove home to Ewa and the cheese was not melted anymore, tacos weren't as crispy and it just was not hot as when we were given the box. If you live in the Aiea/Pearl Harbor area, this food truck is a MUST TRY! The first time we went, we got the 12 pack Birria Queso Tacos and a separate order of Hellfire Tacos. Second time, we got a 12 pack of the Hellfire Tacos & a Horchata! I would say that the better choice between the two if you were super hungry/could EAT, would be the 12 pack Birria Queso Tacos with a couple of the Hellfire Tacos. If you LOVE spicy food, I would say tackle the 12 Hellfire Tacos if you think you can handle it! My boyfriend and I are HUGE spicy food fans, but we couldn't finish all 12 (he finished 4, I finished 3) in one sitting--needless to say it was SPICY and La Birria was not messing around or kidding with that name. Regardless of which type of tacos you choose, I promise you won't go wrong with what you get!! The horchata was a great balance of milk/creaminess and cinnamon! This is my favorite Birria taco place in Hawaii. They are very generous with the meat and cheese. I would say a box can feed 2-3 people. There is a lot of onion and limes. The consume is flavorful, not too salty and good consistency. The food tastes very fresh, made to order and high quality ingredients. The service is made to order so please don't expect to get your food instantly. The workers are always kind and work very hard. The last time I went there, there was no seating so we usually just park our truck and eat on the bed. I would say you have about 10 minute timeframe to eat the tacos before they get cold and affects the taste. read more

This is a taco truck right off Kamehameha Highway on the bottom backside of the Pearlridge mall. Birria meat in a soft shell taco that seems to be fried. $12 for 3 queso and birria meat tacos. They also offer 2 Hot AF birria tacos for $12 that are (pardon my French) HOT AF ! I love spicy food and this taco takes the cake. One bite, sweat is dripping from the brows, second bite your questioning your judgement to continue, third bite and your wondering if this is doing some damage to the digestive system. Thank God that I also sampled the regular tacos to chase down the heat. The spice is from Ghost Pepper and wow it is hot. A dare to those who enjoy spice. Nice and warm, the consume, is a red broth with spice to it. Looks a bit oily. Mix before you drink it. I made the mistake of sipping it like that and I drank oil. Lol! The 3 tacos are nicely stuffed with so much cheese and meat inside. I wish it had a bit more onions and cilantro but all and all can't complain because they really do LOAD the taco. It also comes with a slice of lime, I squeezed upon my tacos. Dip the taco into the consume. HEAVEN. Sooo good. The flavors were really good. A beefy, cheesy and a mild spice. These tacos are pretty addicting. Probably one of the best birria tacos I've tried. But the 3 tacos did not fill me up. I was satisfied but wishing for more. On the menu there was 12 tacos for $45. Actually, I've only had birria tacos from La Birria, and both times that I've tried them tacos, they did not disappoint. The birria ramen was very good too - it came with a good amount of meat. We came here right at 11 am and there were only a couple of people ahead of us. I finally, after two years, made an opportunity to try this place. My tacos were very good, and I would probably come back, but at the price point, it won't be a regular thing for me. The 3-pack of birria tacos were everything I had hoped they would be: flavorful tacos, flavorful broth. I really like the layering of flavor - the slow-cooked meat, the fried tortillas dipped in broth, the cup of consomme to dip the tacos. Add in the melty cheese and a lime wedge, and it's a fiesta for your mouth. It's flavorful and zesty but not spicy. I had SO much broth leftover, though, and I totally see why they offer a side of ramen for your consomme. I should have opted for it, but after paying $12 for the tacos, another $5 for noodles when I wasn't sure I needed them (spoiler alert: you need them), was dicey. I know for next time. Parking is super easy, and the truck is visible from Kam Hwy, near the Malasadamobile. There are picnic tables under trees where you can stay and eat, or you can take your food to go. Menu is straight forward simple - Birria Queso Pack (3 Birria taco and consommé - Hell Fire Tacos (2 hot af tacos and consommé or make it a pack of 12 for either Birria or Hell Fire - Birria Saimin Not in the mood for the Hell Fire so it's the Birria Queso Pack today and added a side of saimin cause I didn't come all the way here for standard. Everything tasted great not exactly wow for me...would I drive all the way back to have it again...no. It was a good taco and consommé just it was all pre-made only took 10 seconds which is as fast as they could pack it, it was all room temp which kinda bothered me in food safety wise and the saimin was cold. I understand the work it takes to prepare these tacos but am kinda disappointed how instant it was, would've been nice if it something was actually made, the stars honestly was because of the location, convenient parking and seating...awesome set up Pearlridge!! read more

I paid $58 for something that is $48 before tax $50 after in person. Tried to ask why her online price is more and she had NO IDEA If I owned that business I would've offered a partial refund or extra food to keep the customer happy/satisfied and coming back for more! Fast service with a smile. The menu is small, tacos. They just do one thing and they do it well! The food is everything you would ever want from a street taco. The meat/filling is tender and pops a bit when you hit the onions. The taco shell is crispy, the way I love it, but not hard shell, it's a soft shell crisp. The soup/consumme that comes with it is worth drinking after you dip your tacos. The worst part of the meal is when it's over and realize that there's no more deliciousness to be had.
