    Lobster Roll
    Greg D.

We stopped by Jack's to try their new lunch menu and it did not disappoint! The lobster grilled cheese and Po' Boy were incredible, and of course their famous lobster roll is still a must-get. Everything was super fresh and flavorful. The team there took the best care of us and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, giving you that nautical feel! Even if you're not a seafood fan, there are plenty of delicious options to choose from -- they've really got something for everyone. Lunch is available Monday-Friday from 11 to 3:30, and you can dine in, grab takeout, or get delivery. Whether you're in Short Hills or Montclair, definitely check out Jack's for your next lunch -- you'll be glad you did! Still a great location. Service is good, nautical themed bright & clean environment with a casual feel. The food has not failed once. This time was the garlic bread and the Lobster bomb. Grades: Garlic Bread: A++ (they use real garlic chunks & butter) Lobster Bomb: A++

Everything was so fresh. I got the lobster roll and I can't believe they have six types of lobster rolls here. I love that they serve a little bit of lobster bisque with the lobster roll to dip the bread and it's delicious. Everything was super fresh and loaded with seafood. The New England clam chowder was definitely delicious and I recommend getting it in a bread bowl, I love the sangria at the service was amazing and the atmosphere is really nice. I like that. They have complementary parking and outside seating in the summer.

Room for more than 7!!! So comfortable and inviting!!

The Lobster bisque and shrimp kale ceasar salad was DELICIOUS!!! There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Service was friendly and attentive!! Drinks were always refilled before the glass was empty. Food is fresh and cooked to order. 10 out of 10!!!

Went to celebrate my friend's birthday. I usually look up the menu before arriving but I didn't this time. I ordered a lobster roll with truffle fries. There was a decent amount of lobster in the sandwich. The bread was perfectly buttered and toasted. To drink I had a raspberry lavender fizz. It was very light and refreshing. The staff was very patient. It took me a while to decide on what I was going to order. Surprisingly for a Friday night, Jack's was not packed. We had a reservation. There was live music but it wasn't too loud where we were screaming to talk to each other. The outside seating area looks great for warm spring days and cool summer nights. I will definitely be back again to try more items on the menu.

Food was delicious! The mini lobster rolls, the mussels, seafood linguine in garlic sauce, the lobster Mac n cheese and the cognac amaretto rice pudding were excellent! Rest rest of the menu looks amazing as well! We'll be back!

Take out Connecticut style lobster roll with chips.

I got the hot lobster roll Connecticut style to trial. A little expensive for a sandwich but is tasty. It looked overflowing with lobster until you realized, the bread was not totally sliced to the edge- only a little over halfway. The chips are fresh cooked and well seasoned. I personally could use a lot more butter on my bread and lobster (that's just me). I like a little bread on my butter- lol. It is side street parking. The place is cute and inviting and at least I didn't come out smelling like a seafood place. Service was fast and friendly.

1st time here and I had the lobster roll with platter with lite mayo and I did substitute the chips for french fries. The lobster roll was delicious and fresh. I will definitely be returning FYI they are byob so feel free to bring a bottle of wine

Wow!! One of the best experiences I've ever had catering for my film crew!! I spoke with Koko directly who was unbelievably kind and knowledgable, and went above and beyond to ensure my crew and I were happy and well-fed. Even when going to pickup the food, he helped me carry everything out to my vehicle as it was a large order. As aforementioned, I placed a large catering order on a Monday morning and Koko and the team made it happen! I discovered Jack's Surf and Turf at a recent event and saw online that they also had non-seafood options, as we had a few seafood allergies/aversions on set. When I called to place the order, Koko was super accommodating and assured me I could feed all of the crew with vegetarian and meat options--and I did! Everything was cooked and prepared to perfection. The tacos were FULL and loaded with flavor (we got chicken and beef), the salads and dressings were delicious, the coleslaw was (and I quote) "some of the best I've had" from some members in the crew, the sliders were gone in seconds, the mac & cheese was flavorful and creamy, and the chicken tenders and fries were a yummy combo. I found the personal touch of my name on all the "thank you" notes on the boxes such a lovely thing to do. Again: above and beyond! My only note for next time is maybe including a hearty vegan option, as I wasn't aware of any on the menu. However, everything else was fantastic and I was able to accommodate the vegan crew member with a salad and fry platter. I believe they're undergoing a rebrand to "Jack's Surf and Turf" and let me tell you right now, their "Turf" is just as incredible as their "Surf", so I'm in full support of this haha! Overall, I was blown away by the service, kindness, flavor, and value, and I don't write this kind of thing about just any place. If you're in the area or ever need to cater for an event, this is your place!! I'll be back!

I came here a year and a half ago while I was in town for work. Came back to stay in Jersey while I visit the city on vacation and wanted to stop back in for a lobster roll. It's usually so quiet whenever I stop in and I don't know why. The food is fresh and tasty. Loved my lobster roll again tonight. Would come back again!

Nice place. We used to go one location in Weehawken, NJ once a year now we have one within 10 minutes away. They have almost same food. The food was great and server was nice. This place is larger than other place, too. Fresh lobster meat, roll was great. We had fried calms which were plentiful, tasty. I would go back again, now I have this place not too far away from home. I recommend this place for good seafood.

Instagram reels led me here - and the Yelp reviews confirmed it. What a gem!! My co-driver (that's what he is today because we had a tiff lol) loves fish n chips. So far the best he's had is in Norway. Since Norway didn't award POtuS (see what I did there) the Nobel prize, I no longer feel obliged to think purely of the peace of returning to Oslo to our favorite chippery. Deranged. Anyway, we were juggling dinner ideas tonight and I remembered this spot. Even better since my mom is in town and dying for something different. I had no idea what to expect - even looking at pics. It's a straightforward place - 3 dine-in tables, and counter seating. We opted to eat in and what a delight! Here's what we got: -fish n chips -fish and popcorn shrimp -fried clams w cole slaw -2 New England clam chowdahs The person behind the counter brought our food out to us within 7 minutes - all freshly fried, crisp and hot. The fish was moist and flaky. The chips were salty, crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside. The Cole slaw was divine! Soup is for tomorrow - the sneak taste I had has me counting down the hours. We got there just in time. Within 10 minutes we went from being the only people there to it being standing room only. My general seafood rule is if I can't see the ocean from the restaurant, keep it! But occasionally I'm wrong. As such, I'll be back for the lobster bites, soft shell crab, po' boys, and fantastic service! Note: it's on 22. If I was a cat I'd be down 8 lives after trying to cross back over to the Krispy Kreme for a lil something sweet afterwards. This place is worth it though. Send it!

He took my order himself, although there's also a huge tablet at the register, and he cooked and brought my food to me at my seat. He also checked up on me as I ate. My double cod fish and chips was served hot out of the fryer. The breading was crisp and clung to the fish, which is awesome, because I hate when the breading separates. And the chips were exquisite - crisp and fluffy with a nice dusting of seasoning. I was impressed that the menu offered cod as an upcharge from the standard white fish, which I dumbly forgot to ask about. I love when a fish and chips restaurant has more than one kind of fish! The sweet tartar sauce is not my thing. I prefer capers, lemon, onion, more acid. The breading was seasoned, but the fish itself wasn't.

My old phone was taking blurry pics from far away so I wasn't able to capture it, but think very cozy, fireplace with candles glowing from within, and little alcoves in the wall for candle clusters. It was perfectly elevated while still being casual and approachable. When we came there was a Mac and cheese special with pulled bbq pork on top. I knew we had to get that because it is right up my husbands alley. It did not disappoint, my husband was tempted to order some to take home! The pasta was super creamy and cheesy, mixed with the roasted pulled smoky bbq pork on top, it was the ultimate comfort food for the cold rainy day we were having. For my meal I got the Grilled Cheese which is more of an elevated "grown up" grilled cheese. It had cheese, thin apple slices, fig jam and bacon. The flavors were great, I only wish there was a little more cheese or a little less jam to balance the sweet and savory a little more, because for me it was a touch too sweet. The sourdough it was made with was delicious and fresh, I also appreciate that they don't seem to soak their grilled cheese in oil like a lot of places do (butter or nothing, please!!) My husband ordered the burger which he really enjoyed but nothing was going to top the pulled pork Mac and cheese for him. They should consider adding it to the regular menu! He originally wanted the duck sandwich but it was unavailable on this day. All in all it was a cozy afternoon together. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure to check on us without ever being too overbearing.
