This place was a last minute - were getting an alignment- and - are- very - hungry- impromptu FIND!! lol We walked there from the Firestone - on the HOTTEST DAY in August - soooo having Joe's raspberry tea was exxxxaxtly what we needed; and it was perfectly iced!! With lemon!! We ordered the lobster bisque which had a hint of spice; little kick in it was just enough. White wine mussels could have used a bit of heartiness- or garlic ... lobster roll , lobster Mac n cheese and lobster grilled cheeses ALL- had tasty and GENEROUS portions of lobster in them!!! thank you for that !!! !!! Over all food was good - a bit over priced and perhaps a tad bit of flavoring would come handy!! The staff is absolutely great- very attentive - and on board!! Hope you go try and Enjoy!! Came here last Saturday. My sister tried the lobster roll and loved it. I tried the grouper sandwich which was fantastic. Generous portions, great taste, and friendly staff.Their lemonade/non alcoholic mocktails tasted great too. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again. Great food! read more

Came to this location to get takeout as I've tried the montclair locations a few times. The hostess was not to friendly but I took it as she was busy. I ordered 2 orders of lobster rolls and fries to go. Upon arriving home and eating my meals the fries were hard and the lobster roll were just ok. read more

I've been here twice and the food is absolutely delicious! You have to try the lobster bisque and the crab cakes. So good! The clam chowder is also delicious as well. Basically everything is great, and it's also super fresh. There's also parking in the back of the restaurant if you don't want to park on the street. I can't wait to come back! read more

Hmmm 3.5 stars, not quite 4, for me anyway! I'm trying to do something a lil different and not sit on my reviews and write on the spot! I stopped by here on a whim, as I was shopping in my dear TJs in Millburn, I got hungry (THATS why I spent almost $150! NEVER shop when hungry lol!) Anywho... Short Hills is around the corner so why not! This place is located on a busy street, they have outdoor and indoor seating, street parking, they also take reservations. At first I ordered to go, but changed my mind to eat it here bc I ordered some lobster bisque and that only really tastes best eaten fresh That lobster bisque is delicious! I also ordered lobster Mac and lobster grilled cheese, you know, snacks lol! I'm not a fan of American cheese, they told me it was cheddar, so the sandwich was a little too "cheesy " for me. Don't get me wrong, it was ok, I only took two bites and decided to take the rest home. It comes with homemade chips and coleslaw which were pretty good. Now, the lobster Mac...I'm not a fan of breadcrumbs on top, it was just OK for me, maybe could use a little more seasoning...or something...idk No worries, I will jazz it up and it will be eaten within two days lol The service was great, nice accommodating young ppl working and catered to me all the way All in all I would say visit this place! Shame on you Jacks! I deviated from my regular lobster roll and figured I'd try their 2 lobster tails at $32.00 (for both) I figured it was a great price so I was really looking forward to enjoying my meal. I ordered $150 worth of food for my family but my disappointment came when I saw how tiny those lobster tails were! Not because they were small teeny weeny baby size lobsters but because Jack's cut the bottom of the lobster off in an effort to underhandedly serve half size portions to their customers. WTH Jack's! Even the butter tasted terrible! It tasted like butter-flavored vegetable oil. How can you mess up melted butter??? Yuck!! I never pegged your restaurant for an establishment that executes shady business practices. What a shame! With that being said and with my one star review, I'll probably continue to go to Jack's but I would never order their lobster tails again. read more

Had a great meal celebrating my wife's birthday. Had a wide variety of the food -- from the lobster dinner, to Caesar salad, to lobster roll and bisque. All was very good. Plenty of other options looked great, too, going to other tables! Best of all our server -- Lucy -- took great care of specific dietary needs and even arranged for a birthday surprise for my wife -- just by over-hearing us talk about her birthday at the table. For $30 per lobster salad sandwich i expect perfection, and this sandwich was far from it. The roll was either cut poorly or the solid amount of lobster salad was smashed in without regard to trying to eat the roll. I would have expected a bit of space (mayo) on the smushed roll, and maybe a piece of lemon, but there wasn't any. The fries the sandwiches came with were generous and good as was the coleslaw. 3 stars for the amount of lobster, well prepared fries and slaw. O stars for poor prep and no napkins read more

First time there. I was beyond disappointed. From the beginning the hostess at the front Amarachi I believe was her name, was very rude. Her demeanor was angry and the eye rolling was even worse! I was surprised because I was very friendly and polite to her. The clams were dry,the mussels were like beef jerky dry, the lobster tasted like leather, the lobster bisque soup was beyond salty, and the calamari was like chewing on a old shoe! On a positive note the clam chowder and the oysters were tasty. Our waitress friendly and very attentive. The place is very clean. Sadly I was so disappointed after spending over 500 on a meal not worth 25.00. Should have known when the hostess made us feel so unwelcome as we walked in. read more

Fantastic new restaurant on Milburn Ave. Went on a Saturday evening. My wife had the Red Snapper; I had the grouper sandwich. Both were excellent. Fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. Seating is fun and the service great. Josh was friendly and oh so helpful. I'm really glad to have this restaurant in the neighborhood. We'll be back soon. We were lucky and got a table without a reservation but I would definitely reserve a table. They are busy! read more

As a New England transplant now living in Jersey I can attest that this place is the real deal. I'm very excited that I can now get some of the classics I remember growing up just a few minutes away. My wife and I ordered takeout from here today. We shared the 16oz lobster bisque (you've gotta add the extra lobster meat for only $2), and it was delicious. Silky smooth, and packed with flavor. I got the whole bellied fried Ipswich clams (I grew up about 20 minutes away from Ipswich, MA, so these are the clams I grew up eating), and she got the steamers. The fried clams were lightly breaded and tender, and the steamers were plump and bursting with briney goodness. Definitely looking forward to ordering from here again. read more

What a great meal. I had the lobster tails - sweet and tender. The grilled asparagus side was plentiful and well made. The fried calamari was so crispy and not chewy at all. Lobster is very good. Lobster roll is offered both in the Maine style (cold with light Mayo) and Connecticut style (warm with butter). Double meat lobster roll is an excellent option to have too. Lobster is not the highlight though of the lobster Mac n cheese. But there is also plain Mac and cheese and it is nice to have non-seafood options on the menu too. Fish n chips and fish tacos were ok too. Generally things were a tad under seasoned for me (fish tacos and steamers) but fried shrimp was spot on. read more

My wife and I tried both the Maine style and the Connecticut style lobster roll platters, and they were both wonderful. Generous portions of nice sized lobster chunks, and the rolls were toasted to perfection. Reasonably priced too. We ate at one of the outside tables, and our server Lucy was fantastic.
