Associate was courteous, said they had one for us and to come on up they'd get it installed in a few minutes. Sounded great. Once there though, it was a bit of a mess. They sold us a battery but then figured out they misplaced the tools to do the install. Sent us to the O'Fallon Autozone with the uninstalled battery and apologies. When we arrived there, we learned they sold us the wrong battery too. Luckily the O'Fallon store was a bit more on top of things and got everything fixed for us pretty quickly. Given the experience at the Fairview Heights store, probably won't return.

They couldn't figure it out so I went somewhere else. Recently we took our car in for an oil leak. It took them two days to figure out what was leaking...some oil valve. They changed it, we drive it home and the low oil pressure light cane on, We were down 2 quarts of oil; one would think that if you're doing something about an oil leak , you would check the oil before you give it back to the customer.

I didn't make it a quarter mile and my car was telling me to take it to the dealership, so I turned around and went back and it took them another hour to realign the car wheels and calibrate the computer. I scheduled my second oil change and when I got to the dealership, they told me I only got one free oil change, and I would have to pay for the rest. I realized after the fact the one you had to call and schedule. The owner Corwin went a head and let me have a free oil change as a new customer. Only charged me for the tire rotation service. They also did a free diagnostic and were able to show me on screen what's going on. Pictures included. They offer shuttle service if you need it, snacks, and drinks upon waiting. They apologized on my wait time going over than expected. ( given valid reasoning) very nice staff. Complimentary water with coaster in the car when you're services are completed.

Not wanting to take a chance with a 740 mile drive ahead of me, I looked up the highest rated ASE Mechanic in the area and that was Bruce's Auto Repair. Although he was swamped with business, the owner took time to test drive my car and tighten some things up, so I could safely get back home and have my local ASE mechanic check it out. While he didn't charge me despite my protests, I'd say that by the number of cars being repaired or waiting to be repaired his rates are reasonable. I'm back in LA now, but If I still lived in the O'Fallon, IL area, Bruce's Auto Repair would definitely be my mechanic!
