Is okay. I've been here a few times. Nothing seems to be like the catch of the day, or local fresh seafood anything. Seeing as it is on the water at an old marina, you think that might be a draw. The food was the only thing that saved this review. It was delicious. Had the bacon burger and fish tacos both with sweet potato fries. The bacon burger was huge and cooked to perfection. The grilled haddock tacos came with cole slaw and cheese on them and lettuce, tomato, sour cream and salsa on the side. They were good sized and very tasty! The sweet potato fries were delicious!!! The cocktail menu was less than desirable ... nothing enticing for my wife, which is rare. They did have some good drink specials/pricing and the food was reasonably priced. Our waiter was a joke - I'm pretty sure he didn't know which way was up at first. But I will say his service got better as the meal progressed. The guys ordered Miller Lite and he forgot about them. We finally reminded him when he came back to take our food order. When he brought the beers, he brought one Miller and one Bud lite. Oh well, we survived. He confused who had what meal and also who's credit card was who's. Pretty sure he needs a little more training and is not so good at multi-tasking. He was able to fix my living social voucher discount that I forgot I had. Bathrooms were disgusting...smelled like you were at an old fashioned hole in the ground campground bathroom. Refused to use it a second time....would rather pee my pants than go in there again as I almost threw up the first time from the smell. I understand that the restaurant is on the water at a marina...but this bathroom is unacceptable even for campground standards! My husband and I went here for the first time on Friday night. I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos and my husband got the firecracker burger. Both were absolutely PHENOMENAL. The shrimp was seasoned perfectly with a slaw and amazing sauce. The burger was cooked just right and my hubby was raving about the quality of the meat. They had live entertainment, the place including the bathrooms were clean, and our server Nicholas was very attentive and friendly. The homemade sangria was fantastic as well!! Jack Willies has a fun atmosphere, they have the largest Tiki Bar in Tampa Bay. As soon as you get there you will see a lot of people outside enjoying the live music and lots and lots of drinks!!. For those of you who want to sit inside, there are tvs showing sporting events. The food is pretty good, they have a mix of the usual burgers and sandwiches, but also mix it up with some fancier stuff like parmesean encrusted salmon or crab cakes. So there is something for everyone, and definently a good place to go with you buddies. read more

Went here for dinner with family and enjoyed our time. Patio seating was great and service was quick and attentive. Live music was good, just loud since our table was right in front of it. Drinks were good and fairly priced. We ordered the quesadillas, the chicken Monterey sandwich, tater tots, burger, and spinach salad with shrimp at our table. All of our meals came out hot and tasted pretty good. My husband complained that he thought the chicken was bland, but I thought it was good for bar food. Upon reflection we should've probably ordered seafood, but we will definitely be back to try more dishes and enjoy the patio/outside bar area while the weather is still nice! read more

We went for the first time on Sunday.They have 12oz. Bud, Bud light, & Miller Light drafts for $1.00. They have a 2 man band that starts at 2, they were good and not to loud. Nice crowd and biker friendly. Our server Stephanie was AWESOME, she was on point with everything!!! We ordered the mushrooms which came out very fast and they were good. Next we ordered the hot wings, they were very meaty with good flavor. Next time I will order extra hot next time cause I like to sweat when I eat hot wings. Although the atmosphere is nice, don't expect great food or service here. We had a coupon from the Entertainment book. The waitress was giving us a hard time about the coupon for no apparent reason. We had to speak to the manager to redeem the coupon. The food and service here are mediocre. Prices here are more than what I expected (good thing we had the coupon). It was a rainy weekday night so the place was not that busy. Atmosphere was fun and relaxing, ate at the bar and the bartender was extremely nice and fun to talk to. The food was very generous. Calamari was ok not too much flavor but something different than the normal appetizers. The oyster po boy was pretty good. Way to big to hold except in smaller cuts. Oysters themselves tasted pretty good. For a $1 more I went with the sweet potato fries with honey and cinnamon. Sounded odd, but very good taste especially with a good IPA. Overall the bartender gave it a 4 star. On just food I would rate a 3, but who doesn't like a tiki bar? read more

My husband and I came here this past Sunday for lunch. We sat inside since the outside was on a wait and we were starving. We shared three apps- smoked fish dip, blackened grouper nuggets, and grilled scallops. I had the hard lemonade beer on special and he had two bloody marys which he gulped down in less than 10 seconds. The fish dip was good and mullet was used but I've had similar dip at Skippers in Tampa and Skippers gives you a larger portion. The grouper nuggets were delicious and cooked perfectly. The scallops were ok and tasted a bit rubbery as if they were microwaved to defrost then grilled. The environment is very divey and located on a river. Yesterday was the first time my husband and I visited Jack Willie's since it has reopened. We were very excited since we frequented here during Football Sundays. We were very disappointed. The servers were friendly when we did speak to them but very slow. I ordered the fish and chips and was dissappointed the fish was lacking in flavor big time and a bit on the dry side. The chips were very good. The beer was cold. The burger my husband ordered also lacked in flavor... a little salt and pepper would have gone a long way. Stopped by the "New" Jack Willies last weekend on our way home from a great day of riding like we used to do with the "Old"Jack Willies. We were very disappointed, the so called musical duo put a whole new definition to the word sucked, but the best part was an 8 oz plastic cup of Sam Adams for 4 bucks! Went there for a Friday lunch. Liked the outdoors feel and being on backwater. The service was terrible. I don't know if the cook was new, non existent or what. The first round of cheese fries were burnt bad enough the waitress did not bother bringing them out and had another order cooked. 35-40 minutes after being there we received those. We had asked sometime earlier to bring it out as it was cooked because we had to get back to work. At an hour we said we had to go and they immediately brought out what we had in bags so we could take it back to work and eat at our desks. Visited today for the first time. A great day for an outdoor table. Especially, since they have a very nice outside dining/bar area. We were seated immediately with a server arriving in only a few minutes. We ordered drinks and two sandwich meals - fried cod fish special and blackened mahi mahi. The food arrived in about fifteen minutes and looked awesome. Both had large portions of fish, included fries, and cole slaw. Both the mahi mahi and cod were cooked perfectly. The cod batter was a slight bit greasy, but it didn't take away from the taste. The mahi mahi had a great blacken flavor. Haven't been since the renovation and I must say the place looks great. Awesome atmosphere, polite staff, and usually great eats. But our food two weeks ago was sub-par at best. We started with the fish spread and couldn't eat much due to the large clumps of cream cheese and the extreme lack of fish taste. Without asking, the waitress took the fish spread off our tab which we were very grateful for . I had the fish and chips and my date had a burger. The burger was ok and so were our fries... But the fried fish was really bad. Tasteless, over battered, and again no fish taste what so ever. Took more than half home and immediately threw it away. Who would think Stella Artois on Tap would cost $7.25 while an excellent and typically more expensive beer "Cigar City Jai Alai" cost $6.50. The tiki bar is nice and has a lot of fans to cool it off. It seems to be the place of choice for smokers so you will need wash your clothing immediately after leaving. I took a guest last Friday. We were up dancing and when we came back my beer had been taken. I mentioned it to the server who said she couldn't do anything. I asked for the manager, who instead of apologizing and offering to at least replace my beer, questioned me as to who took my beer !! Unbelievable !! What a way to treat customers. It's not the first time my glass has been cleared when not empty. The burgers were good. Calamari was dreadful - fingernail-sized fried things with barely any taste. I'm only giving two stars,but understand the food was better than 2 stars. The service, or lack of service, ruined our dinner. We sat down outside and were greeted with menus promptly and told who our server would be and then waited 10 minutes just to take our drink order. No big deal deal, we are relaxed people. Since we had so much time we ordered our food at the same time as our drinks. Another ten minutes to get two beers and another ten minutes to get a house salad with the wrong dressing, but I didn't complain, I just ate it with the wrong dressing. I asked for honey mustard dressing and when he, our server, put the salad on the table the server said that he couldn't remember if I ordered ranch or blue cheese, ha, wrong on both counts. Two minutes later the food hits the table and it looks good and tasted great, but that was the last time we saw our server. Seriously, it was the lat time until we complained to the hostess. I finished three-quarter of my meal dry, no drink at all and that sucks. There were three other female servers walking around, but they totally ignored us with the empty drinks on the table. My wife went to the hostess to tell her we needed a box for food we didn't finish and our check, the hostess didn't even question why she just said okay. Our server came out with a box and our check and said that he had sent all that time trying to fix another tables order, so I guess it was okay to ruin our dinner. How do you spend 20-25 minutes trying to fix another tables order and say screw my other customers. To my wife and I, great service and can make up for average food. Bad service will ruin good food, good atmosphere and most of all, hit the server in the wallet because we don't pay for bad service. It will also effect the restaurant because we won;t be back. We believe in tipping based on the service we receive and often tip over 20% for good service, but our scale also runs the other way. Hit these servers and restaurants in the wallet until they improve. At this point in the night I went inside to pay, our server rang it up, another waitress asked how my night was going, I said "not great" she just turned around and walked off. The atmosphere is great, there aren't that many restaurants on the water in then area and the rest of the customers seem to be having a good time. A lot of locals come here. The servers are unfriendly, incompetent, and don't even smile. One last thing, make sure that if it is karaoke night or trivia night you don't sit in front of the area they set up their gear because they turn it up so loud you can't have a conversation at your own table. As promised the little lady and I attended our first "Bike Nite" which they do on the 1st Thursday of every month. We were pleasently surprised first of all at the turnout as there must have been over 100 bikes there. They provide plenty of "Motorcycle only" parking and space was not an issue. Most of the activity takes place outside at the tiki bar where there is plenty of seating and a live DJ spinning the tunes. They had a couple of merch booths set up which were a little disappointing as they seemed to be nothing more than a sales/advertising pitch for a certain attorney in town. Would like to have seen at least a t-shirt booth or something. The food was in a word "Sensational". We each had the grouper fingers and sweet potato fries. the SP fries are worth the trip in and of themselves and are a must order. We had wings on the side which were all drummettes as opposed to actual wings which is what we prefer. Our waitress was outstanding and she got tipped accordingly.
