We were looking for a place to eat before skipping town that could accommodate a small group (6 adults and a baby) and a dog. We went across the street and they didn't allow dogs on the patio so a quick Yelp search led us to Jack Beagles. With a dog in the name, I figured it would be dog friendly and I was right... it's event dog friendly inside which was great since we had the baby and it was hot out. They were happy to seat us in the dining room and since breakfast was about to end and lunch was about to start, we had the option of both. Some ordered breakfast and a few of us order the tenders because our server said it was one of the most popular items. I don't normally go for tenders at a new place, but they had garlic parm which drew me in. They were pretty great and served with waffle fries. My buddy got this massive burger that I was eyeing as well and I had a little bit of food envy when it came out. It was called The Big Bear and was sporting 2 Patties, 2 X Bacon, 2 x White American Cheese, Pickled Jalapeno, and Chipotle Aioli. I would definitely try that next time. Only odd thing was that when the burger came out, my buddy asked for a knife other than a butter knife to cut it since it was so big. Instead of offering to bring it to the kitchen to cut it, she came out from the back to say they don't have any steak knives and the only sharp ones are with the cook. No big deal, but a little odd. We went to JackBeagles on a rainy Saturday morning for lunch and really enjoyed everything we tasted! Our visit happened to be during Charlotte Hot Chicken Week so of course we had to try their special! For only $8 you could get the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It was really good! The Chicken was nice and crispy, not too spicy and the thick cut pickles really brought it all together. Also enjoyed were the Botz burger and cheese fries. I loved how they choose to serve waffle fries over regular fries. There is just so much texture and flavor going on there. I visit this location twice a month for breakfast. Food is always really good as so is the service. Today, something changed. Walked in and said good morning. Bartender just looked at me and didn't speak. We ordered coffee, never received spoons. Then to make matters worse, bartender was talking to 2 Caucasian women at the bar. We were enjoying our food. No other customers are here except me and my husband who are African American and the 2 women and another Caucasian guy. As we are finishing our mimosas, one of the women says something about "their black asses." Wow. Bartender doesn't correct this kind of communication. But I'm sure she realized we were sitting here because she proceeded to talk about something else. I've never had an issue here. Never seen this bartender. Caucasian guy with beard. A hunger attack lead me to Jack eagles on Morehead. I've heard great things about there wings but unfortunately I was left disappointed. Chicken Skins Yes Chicken Skins are becoming a thing. Some of the skins had chunk of meat on them, which is a plus in my book. Chicken skins are supposed to be light, crunchy and well seasoned.... And there's past the test. Fries My fries were fresh and hot. A dash of pepper, a sprinkle of salt, with some Barbalo dipping sauce on the side... Perfecto. The Wings with Barbalo Sauce The wings.... The wings, the wings, the wings. To me, the taste of the wings were a little off. I don't know if they always are like that but they had a little old taste to it. If I could give 0 stars I would!! Normally not a breakfast person but wanted to do something different. Walked in wasn't greeted asked where the restroom was & she just pointed. She never asked what I like to drink she just stood there starring with a pin & pad so I assumed that's what she was waiting on I said "water w/ lemon" she slid the drink to me I said "Thank you" again & she still never said anything from the time I walked in was VERY unwelcoming. 3 years I've been coming here at least 1x a week. The bartenders have always provided fantastic hospitality and that's why I come back. There was an incident where "Cam?" Who I think came from the Noda location acted SEVERELY UNPROFESSIONAL. She lost her cool and publicly verbally abused my favorite bartender in front of a full bar of guests. There is no reason that is ever acceptable. Have respect for your staff. Maybe focus on empowering them. They're the only reason you have regulars. Stopped by this restaurant later in the evening (around ~10ish) and the place was pretty lively at the bar. Our waiter was really nice and explained things on the menu when we asked as well as gave recommendations. My spouse ended up getting the patty melt with fries and had a few issues with his order. The fries were definitely overcooked and very crunchy and the patty melt advertised caramelized onions, but they were just regular onions. While I really liked my burger (it was moist and not over/under cooked), the Mac n cheese was good/okay (nothing mind blowing really). I met a local and they said since I have a dog, we have to come here, so I did. I did have other friends from out of town meet up with me and we decided on this place. We went there for afternoon lunch and they only had the bartender as the server. We were with our dog so we were outside. For being by herself to run the entire restaurant she did a pretty good job. We order a multitude of items and even tried some beer. I have been to numerous bar/sports bars and this is nothing more than that. The food was okay, it definitely did not have any of the 5 of us dying to come back here. To me, it was a typical place. The salad looked good on presentation, but for sure there was hardly any meat at all on the salad. Fries that everyone raves about, are typical waffle fries. So I am unsure why they are so amazing. I tried JackBeagle's this past weekend and it wasn't too bad. The dining area is very intimate. I was able to seat myself and you have the options between the bar or tables. I tried the chicken tossed in the heavy buffalo sauce, their mac, and the fried cherry peppers. The chicken tenders comes with fries or sweet potato tots or their classic mac. The chicken tenders were pretty standard but not spicy as I hoped, so if you enjoy spicy go up the levels. I wasn't a fan of the classic mac. I'm really picky in general with macaroni and cheese, but the noodles were over cooked and it was tasteless. The fried peppers were my favorite! Light crisp and the perfect spice! I'll be back just for the peppers. I also tried a Long Island ice tea which was tasty and strong lol. I only needed one and that is perfect since I was driving. This spot is in the Noda area so parking can be a challenge but not too impossible to find. You'll be able to find either street parking or a paid lot. Had a great experience. Ordered a burger waffle fries and a sour beer that was on tap. The burger was cooked to perfection with a super fresh bun. Fries were crispy and perfect and the beer was as great too. I also got their desert to go when I got back to my hotel I was a little mad I didn't eat it as soon as I got it as it was some sort of deep fried doughnut that was a 10/10. Jack Beagles on West Morehead is a bar and grill so it is fun to hang out grab a few drinks with friends and watch a game or hang out with coworkers at lunch. It is right down the street from the Bank of America stadium so it does get packed when events are going on. On NFL Sundays this is where the Washington Commander (or whatever they call themselves now, GO BIRDS!!!) fan club hangs out. They have daily specials on food and drinks. I like their tenders, fries, sandwiches and burgers, not really a fan of their wings. The service here is really good every time I have been. You are greeted as soon as you walk in, you can sit where ever you want, never have had a problem here with service. My last visit here was during CLT Burger Week, the burger for burger week was delicious! Overall a nice bar and grill spot close to all the action where you can watch sporting events, hang out with friends, get good service, and also meet other cool people. read more

Love this place - love that they host the Washington Football Team fan club every game and their food/drinks are always fantastic. The fact that they have breakfast/brunch food on the weekend is fantastic. I've loved everything I've ever had there - but most recently the veggie fries (it's waffle fries with all sorts of goodness on top...add beer cheese ) and the shrimp po' boy. I'm a huge JackBeagle's fan so I'm excited that there's a location that's a bit closer to me now. Parking isn't great. They have a tiny lot and then you may be able to get parking on a side street. We came for a happy hour and grabbed a table. The interior is nice and new. It doesn't have the love that the original NoDa location has yet. We got their Thai and Black and Blue mac and cheeses. The Black and Blue is probably my new favorite and the Thai was also pretty good. The Thai was a little sweet and spicy at the same time. I tried a bite of someone else's pesto mac and cheese which was good. I loved the fried mushrooms that someone else ordered for the table. The loaded pulled pork fries someone else ordered were such a big portion that they gave us some and they were delicious. My only complaint is about the Country mac and cheese. I loved it at the NoDa location, but someone else ordered it here and it was completely bland and flavorless. It seems like they're using a different recipe. I'm so happy to have a JackBeagles on the west side. I love the one in NoDa, but this one has a different, less bar, more restaurant feel. That shouldn't take away from your want to come - it's definitely still the same place that you would find in Noda, just a bit more space and more seating (less outside space). If you come here, get some kind of Mac and cheese....whatever one tickles your fancy, get it. You won't be disappointed. All of their Mac and cheese are magical. Get a hot dog, get a sandwich, whatever, just get a Mac and cheese too! Their black and bleu Mac is a favorite - I love the addition of bleu cheese, it adds this creamy bite that takes the richness to the next level. Then the bacon just adds that hint of salt to cut the richness, making the perfect bite! The Thai Mac is good too, a little sweeter than I expected with the coconut milk, but definitely a fun twist on the traditional! There is parking on the side of the building as well as street parking. So it's a bit easier to navigate, in my opinion. read more

I came here for the first time last week. Wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in. Didn't look like anything too fancy. Walking in I wasn't sure if I'd like it because it was super small and the bar was the first thing that greeted me. Anyway, folks were friendly. I was told about the variety of Mac and cheese offered. But what really drew me in was the chicken skins on the menu. I have only had chicken skins at one place in Delaware. I had been hoping to find them down here and it was a great shock to see them. They were pretty good. Comes with an odd sauce choice though (cheese). I'm used to having them with a chipotle ranch and used to them being a little larger like pork rinds. Nonetheless I chowed down on most of them. Along with that I had 2 double mimosas and swapped the orange juice out for pineapple juice. They made the mimosas strong here. Slapped me a few times. I also ordered Jack Mac! I do not eat spicy food but it wasn't too dangerous haha. Eat it slow and drink in between. At first I was scared to drive it because it looked like a fancy easy Mac, but it was super delicious. My friend ordered the other items pictured and seemed to enjoy those. I'll definitely go back to try a burger because it did seem delicious. I'll be back in general. picked MLB from the airport and we were looking for some beverages and nourishment and outdoor seating on a pleasantly warm evening and found all three here. poked my head in the door to ask about service and was assured that someone would come around... probably should have asked for a time frame but whatever. just two servers on Friday night? potentially annoying but we're already parked and situated. we get menus, ask for beverages and our guy disappears for a bit... comes back with water and we ask for a bowl of mac and a cheese steak to split and where's my cider..? probably should have asked for draft cider instead of dealer's choice but whatever... cider shows up, a bit later the sammich shows up along with someone else's mac which is replaced by our mac a couple minutes later ;-) went with the basic cheese steak: flat-ironed beefs plus caramelized onion & bell pepper with provolone cheese in a lightly toasted hoagie roll was exactly that and then some. meats done very well; hot, moist and seasonal with cheese getting ooey gooey on top - and a pickle spear. chili mac was just like home but no mess for me to clean up!! macs were perfect, uniformly firm and cheesey under a slather of well-mannered chili and wearing a festive lightly browned cheese hat. Not a whole lot of seating. So you may want to get here early. They open at nine. But this place fills up by 11. Smaller bar area. We tried Jack Beagles for the first time last week. It looked like a nice place to sit outside and bring your pup. It took quite a while for us to get acknowledged let alone our order taken. We ordered the Fried Mushrooms to start. They were good but then took way too long for the server to come back for our actual order (the restaurant was not busy). Once ordered, our food was nothing special. The Jack Mac was greasy, the Philly Cheesesteak had no taste and they didn't bring the Waffle Fries out until after we were done eating so not pictured below. Took and Uber here from a flight layover. It was a Friday night and plenty of people on the bar side. Restaurant side was closed. Great music, fun vibe and cool people. The waitstaff were all super friendly. We had a cheesesteak, waffle fries and pork tacos. The waffle fries were delish and on point. The cheesesteak came out SO hot and delicious. The right amount of steak and cheese and the bun was light and toasted to perfection. The pork tacos were amazing!! There were two in lightly fried shells with pulled pork and mango salsa. I stopped by last night for a quick bite. I got to try the Thai Mac and Jack Mac. The Thai Mac was AMAZING! I love the flavor and the crispy pieces of chicken was so tasty. I'm a huge fan of al dente pasta, so if it was possible for it to have a firmer texture, it would be even more amazing. Service was friendly and quick. They have a small parking lot but it looks like you can park on the street surrounding the restaurant. I cannot wait to go back and try their other Mac-n-cheeses. read more

A friend of mine had mentioned JackBeagle's and was looking at the menu. He said they were known for their cheesesteaks and mac & cheese. 10 kinds of mac & cheese? Count me in. I decided my first experience would be at this newly opened one near Uptown Charlotte instead of the NoDa one. We got there and took the last parking spot in a very small parking lot that only has room for about six cars. I guess we were lucky we got that. Most of their clientele probably lives within walking distance in the new apartments in the area. We walked in and the bar area was packed. They have a few high tops that seat about six each and then the bar itself. Their dining room was "reserved" for an event or party that wasn't even there or happening. Again, we got the last two seats in the restaurant, and they happened to be at the bar (and, yes, they were thankfully together). The guys behind the bar were very friendly, funny, and personable. They provided excellent service throughout our night, and seemed to really enjoy their jobs and the customers. I had to try a cheesesteak, of course, so I went with the Loco Lobo. It was a little spicy and oh-so-delicious. It came on a big hoagie roll, filled with meat and all the other accompaniments. My partner ordered the Puppy's Patty Melt, which was big and juicy on Texas toast. Everything seems to be a la carte at JackBeagle's, so we also ordered a mac & cheese to split. We went with the Blue-Black-Mac. It was creamy and so tasty. After we finished our sandwiches and the mac & cheese, we decided to split another! We opted for the Pesto Mac the 2nd time around. It, too, was creamy and flavorful. I'm going to have to keep coming back to work my way through the menu. We didn't even dip into any of the smothered waffle fries, chicken wings or fingers (with so many sauces), hot dogs, or other sandwiches. Their menu says they have "award-winning bar food." I'd whole-heartedly agree. This is what I want for a casual evening -- excellent food with a lot of choices. And some ice-cold beer. For my first time here it was pretty decent. Considering it's set up more like a bar than a restaurant that also has a bar, I was not expecting much from the food. But I would come back if I'm in the area for the food. My boyfriend ordered the Miyagi which I was looking forward to since I love kimchi but it was way overly spicy I could barely eat the one bite that I had. Luckily I had ordered the Porchetta and that wasn't really spicy so I was able to enjoy it. The salsa verde on it does have a slight kick though. By far my favorite though, was the pork fries. They tasted amazing and there was an enormous amount of them so we ended up sharing them with three other people in our group. It's Thai fries were good but I don't think I'd order them again. I kind of forgot I was eating mac and cheese. I feel like mac and cheese with toppings or other flavors added should still taste like mac and cheese at least to an extent. As for experience, my boyfriend and I were the first of our group to arrive and we sat in the room adjacent to the bar area at a large table after being told to sit wherever we wanted. We were brought menus and waters as we waited for everyone else. After about 20 minutes a lady comes in to sit at the other long table and then our group gets here. She tells them they can't come in there because it's reserved for a private event. When we arrived we were not fold that there was going to be an event in there and when the lady got here she didn't come and tell us it was gonna be reserved for an event. I really didn't appreciate that we were having to get up and bring all our stuff to find another table in the main bar area. Like stayed before, I would come back for the food but I would definitely hope that if there's an event that a sign be up stating that at a certain time that area will be reserved so we know to not sit there. ********** *UPDATE* Barely 5 minutes after posting my review, who I assume was the manager on shift came up with free shots for our group saying she saw my review and was very sorry for our experience. The whole menu looks AMAZING, but I personally can vouch for the fried mushrooms with that DELICIOUS horseradish sauce, & the bourbon teriyaki chicken tenders. Given that the tenders are listed under apps, one can only imagine my surprise (and joy) at finding perfectly crisp waffle fries beside them in my to-go order. The new jack beagles over on morehead has become one of our favorite bars to catch up with friends or watch football games on the weekend. Reason we keep coming back is they offer plenty of seats by the bar area, have multiple TVs to watch sporting events, a large food menu and the number one reason, we love the staff! They also offer a great drink selection and starting to offer drink specials on the weekends. This location opened up July fourth weekend and hasn't done a great job advertising this place is open. Next weekend they are doing drink and food specials that should draw more of a crowd in! A few friends and I were there today to watch the Steelers game and the panthers were playing at the same time, every time the panthers scored a touchdown everyone got a free panther shot. Highly recommend coming here to either grab a drink with friends or to watch football! Oh and be sure to get the Mac n cheese! read more

We went for Charlotte burger week and they had a special burger that was the bomb dot com. The burger was topped with bacon, pimento cheese and fried pickles.
