I found Mark through groupon and i tried to look him up on yelp. i at least compared him to other photographers with 5 star ratings too but Mark stood out. He is very responsive, will work with you, give you a very reasonable price without compromising the quality. we are a big group. 20 people at least. we did the shoot in two locations and mark didnt have an issue driving to us. he took unlimited photos even if we initially talked about a certain number of shots we will be getting. not only that, it was mark that actually suggested to take more pictures in different angles. in other words, he is very generous, PATIENT, professional, and indeed a great photographer. he listened to what our company needed and DELIVERED. within a week, he was able to send us our pictures as our web developer needed it asap. if i could give Mark a million star rating, i really would. Since young children are so unpredictable, we did not want to commit to an expensive photo shoot so this opportunity was perfect for us. Mark was so professional from the beginning when we scheduled our shoot with him and gave us ideas for locations and dress, etc. He took so many photos so that, regardless of two uncooperative little boys, he captured some shots that we were more than happy with. Mark is just so passionate and dedicated in his work! Such a fantastic photographer and genuine person! I did not know any of this before purchasing the groupon deal - which seems too good to be true for the price. So definitely worth it!!! Every minute of the process was so smooth and professional! Mark responded quickly to my emails about logistics of our family photoshoot, such as scheduling a date, time and location, information about the Groupon deal and anything else that was important for me and my family to know before having the photoshoot. We were definitely prepared and he made all of us feel very comfortable. Mark gave us tips on how to pose, explained to us the dynamics of the sunlight and the various effects it has on us - he definitely knew what he was doing! He explored our location to see where the best photos would take place and took us step by step on where and how to stand and do...but also gave us the liberty to be ourselves and capture those natural moments. At some point my 5yr old niece was already feeling grumpy about taking too many pictures, but he was so graceful in finding a way to make her laugh and he captured some wonderful moments!!! Mark also took the time to capture my 16month and 1yr old nephews, he was soo patient with me and my family when we were trying to make them laugh or look at the camera...he kindly asked us to just let them be and have them get distracted with something on their own. These moments were also pretty awesome! Every step of the way, he kept showing us the pictures - which I personally loved! After our photoshoot, Mark reviewed the deal with me again and asked to schedule a viewing of the photos. This was a great opportunity for us to view the photos and choose the best ones in the comfort of his home! Plus, also gave us tips about editing options. We did run out of time, but he gave us the opportunity to view and choose the photos online and gave us a generous amount of time to respond to him with our final selections. We are so happy with all the photos, the edits and the slideshow of our experience! Horrible !!! If I could put no stars I would. I bought a living social deal so we could try out Mark to see if we liked his style of photography, then if we did we would hire him for our engagement/ wedding photos. First of all he has you check his "availability" on his website, BUT when I saw an opening he would say oh no I'm not available the calendar was not updated. -_- I basically had to tell him to tell me when he is available. Which was 3 months later. We wanted to have the photos for our invitations but had to go with another photographer who would fit us in sooner. ( I'm glad I found someone else because she is amazing and quick) anyways we still kept that appointment just for extra photos. When the date actually comes up it was scheduled to rain so I emailed him the day before and asked if he knew of any inside places to take photos due to the weather changes. He emailed back saying no I don't know of any we will have to reschedule. This is Feb 27th and his next availability is July. WTF!! Good thing Living Social reimbursed me. But in his eyes he thought he doesn't make any money off of this deal ( his words exactly) when we would have hired him for our wedding/ baby photos. read more

I really wanted to do a professional maternity shoot but since my husband and I had never done a professional photo shoot before, we decided to try a Groupon deal. We decided on Jackrabbit because it was local for us and we wanted to shoot in downtown Long Beach. I visited the website beforehand; it was professional and the pics looked good. I called Mark to set the date and he was very helpful and friendly from the get-go. He gave me suggestions on props and clothing to bring, which was so great because we had no idea. The day of the shoot surpassed our expectations. We brought our little 6 lb dog as a prop and he was so good with her and he even got some great shots of her "posing" for the camera. Our pics turned out awesome. We love so many of them that it is going to be hard to decide which ones to print. As a very busy working mom of two, I never take the time to write reviews but I absolutely must let people know how great Mark is!!! I purchased a Groupon for a photo session and a free portrait. During the session, I had a very tired and cranky toddler and Mark was super patient and worked very well with my son. I still kept thinking that we didn't get any good photos but that it was ok, we would just walk away with a free picture and call it a day. After the session, however, I went to view all the photos and I was completely blown away at how fantastic they all looked and how many great shots he got. I ended up purchasing an entire package on the spot. I spent way more than I intended but I think it's a very good investment and it's truly a testament to what a great photographer Mark is!!!!! I am super delinquent in choosing my photos and I am just now getting around to it so I hope the finished products are as great as the untouched photos but I'm sure they will be. During the viewing, Mark showed me some of things he could do during the editing process and I am super excited to get my prints and show them off!!!! I found this deal on Groupon and my expectations were beyond met. My fiance and I scheduled an appointment with Mark to take maternity pictures down at Cabrillo beach. Once we arrived I started to get really nervous. There were people everywhere and there was a wedding. I'm not one who likes to have my picture taken in front of others, but Mark definitely put my nerves at ease. He was extremely professional yet very laid back. During the shoot, Mark would review the pictures with us and give us suggestions as well as let us come up with a few different poses. The pictures we saw on the camera were absolutely stunning.
